I have to say robs work is mint, my turbo spun a bearing last year and I took it to monstatorque for a new turbo and some engine work. Went from 480hp to 580hp and the car runs like an absolute dream, can't recommend him enough 👌👌

Ross your OEM timing chain lasted up to 230,000 Kilometres. That's excellent. My XR6 Turbo has driven 153,000 Kilometres since I bought it brand new back in 2015.So far I haven't changed the Timing Chain. To make Timing Chains last Long is " Changing Engine Oil and Oil Filter Regularly ". Also use Good Quality Oil and Good Quality Oil Filter like K&N and Repco.
F6 goes hard 👌 Yeah I've been living with 480whp and 775nms since beginning of December in my fg xr6t through a manual, still not used to it lol Hits like a jet fighter 👌🤣 Once I get a new clutch I might look at going up to an even 500whp ,that's about the limit on stock driveline, anything more u start breaking stuff. Wanna do tailshaft, axles n diff first then turn it up more lol My goal is 10.00s in a daily 👌

I have the same power in a fg mk2, yes you want more, but mine is a daily, all to often people go e85 and more fruit and it no longer becomes a daily driver. Its my only car for 3 years now. Its a good amount of power. Mine is a single boost tune. 500hp or its turned off lol

I would get an F6 again absolutely.. ISF is a great car for money too.. just depends what you want.. F6 will be easy power and serious speed.. ISF will be a nicer cruiser and have a better note to it throughout town.. (more useable) One complaint about the F6 is that it’s so fast I find I can’t use it safely that much.. I have to be on the hwy or out of the city.. just a thought
Domestic car owners pull the piss on ‘European car unreliability’ in forums regularly - certainly every one of my European performance cars didn’t need a new timing chain after only 100-140,000kms. Didn’t need new wastegate or valve springs either, or diff mounts, or oil pump gears. I think the $2k Barra is dead. Or is it $2k a month Barra?😜.
i hate to say this i have never ever seen a timing chain replacement on a barra as i sell plenty of them in my wrecking and own about ten barras in private cars some having 500,000 kms still no timing chain change .......ross i think your F6 has had the shit flogged right out of it from day one sat on the limiter for a long time and not regular oil changes by some hairy ass young punk on a regular basis i would be looking at main bearings or engine rebuild .....would be interesting to see how much faster the F6 is compared to your Vy Ute
Let’s hope your wrong but if you watch my video of when I first bought the car.. it was flogged out 🥲 if an engine rebuild has to be done it will happen but down the line as I’d be doing it properly & would be $$$$ Definitely do a comparison with the Ute once it’s up to scratch

I only hear it when I’m flat out… doesn’t open until after 3k rpm so don’t notice until you want to.. no exhaust fumes I’ve seen

Unlike the INTECH the BARRA can't handle a decent cam cause the tensioners & chains aren't designed for it!
