You're a real Aussie when you start using the C word !
Hes a mullet away from being full aussie
But blocks out the F-word 😂
Ay f word gets more aussies rowled up than the c word these days 🤣
@@slotxz9859 True 😂
FUCKING UPPA 🤣
Unless there was specific rules you must go on green, you don't have to, the timing starts when you leave the line regardless how long the green is on.
That’s what I was gonna say. Maybe he was confused and thought his time would start when the green light drop and his reaction time was included … Next time he’ll know, launch whenever you ready, chill out.
Favorite part was the beeps cutting out f****ng but not c**t hahaha
Aussie content 🤬
Been loving the vids mate but the C word is unnecessary.
C word is super necessary
I love watching people race there cars for the first time! Times are so much harder to achieve than we all think!! We’ve all been there 😂
It’s not easy 🤬
Nobody ever gets the times they expect. It's normal. 😂
Yep! The track is the best lie detector/dyno going. 😂
I did
@@chasroberts3613 🤣
Correct.. next time I’ll do better
1/4 is always a challenge! Just have fun and enjoy the experience.
Unfortunately, the world we live in people will quote rwhp and then assume their car will run a set speed/time. The reality is rwhp is just one component of many; more hp = slower the majority of the time unless other parts of the car are also addressed.
Yup.. I’ve learned a lot from that experience so next time I’ll be ready
@@RossReviewsauYou also have to remember that any quoted RWKW numbers are PEAK power generated at high RPM. Low-end torque and having drag radials matter a lot for a good launch. Smaller turbo FGs (Garrett 3576) will always launch better than a big turbo BF (Garret 3582) if you don't have a stall converter, because the small turbo spools up a lot faster and hits peak torque way lower in the rev range.
Gotta look at the total area under the full torque curve to really see which is the quicker car on paper, not just the peak power number.
Exactly and your comments proven by the many big HP cars featured on RR that run pathetic 0 to 100 times many of them slower than a fairly standard version of the same car. You can tell the well engineered cars that balance everything it is no mistake they run the best times !
Don’t be disappointed, that’s actually a decent time.I
got a 13.2 in my 440 bhp vt2, six speed, at Santa pod here in 🇬🇧
Again , it was my second ever run.
I thought that was ok
it is still fast... but its got a lot more in it
This is why I don’t like going to the drags , you are either disappointed… or you break something lol
Luckily I only broke my hopes not my F6 🤣💀
I come to car meets with my daily suby and no one bats an eyelid. its not super loud, low or anything. it does run 11.9@187 at motorplex but.
sounds to me like it was a busy night if you were rushed at the staging. there is tricks to it like leaving on second yellow or creeping in on your brakes but yeah its pretty random.
If you all about your personal time F the tree. build your boost and leave on your own terms and hopefully leave with a P.B. also all the fast barras and LS there are on a drag slick. thats the key to your 11 second run.. ( +more boost! ;p )
love your content mate! keep it coming!
That’s impressive man! I hope the car gets there next time
The guys with the 3" noisy exhausts body scraping on the ground 20 odd inch wheels big dyno numbers [ usually stock brakes ] most of them just don't get it , see them heaps here and see their disappointment when they clock RS time for 0 to 100 .
Great video Ross. It was good to see your perspective and genuine emotions from your first attempt at this! Even though you were a bit disappointed at the end, so many of us that want to try the drags for the first time like you.. and this video is invaluable to many! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome video mate. Don't be too hard on yourself. Each time you go you learn more about the car and how it works. You don't have to leave the line when it goes green you can sit there and build boost and leave when your ready 👍
Good on ya Ross, been looking forward to this one. Glad you posted the vid 👍
We will try again 😅
Hey Rosso! Here to say I love your Falcon videos! Keep em coming bro. I even watch your videos in school!
Glad you like them!
I think bro that Tyers make a huge difference.. I ran 12.2 at 117 with 20’s up front and 17’s rear.. rolling diameter was out for me with the gearbox tune, so was limiter bashing each gear and 3rd a surge.. but I still managed that time. My saving was tyer pressure, I ran them down to 18 pounds..
Damn yeh it’s getting off the line eh
First off awesome vid!! Been waiting for track vids!! Keep them coming.
If you're not racing the guy beside you, then you can leave anytime after the light turns green. If you're racing the guy next to you and it's "dial your own" bracket racing then the lights
will turn green at different times.
Nobody gets it right the first few times. Adrenaline is pumping, nerves are high, we all mess up but when you get into it its soo much fun. Keep at it.
Thanks! Will do! Next time will get better
It’s probably a very optimistic dyno.
Love the colourful language lol usually so polite on your other videos. Gave me a good laugh.
Glad you enjoyed it 🤣 the real racer in me 🤬🤬🤬
Understandable mate, lucky the rest of us aren’t in front of a camera half the time. Always enjoy watching your reviews, they are top notch.@@RossReviewsau
Run your own race mate. You dont need the perfect reaction time unless that's what you're going for. You can launch way after the green as your time is from when you move on the beam
Haha that was your best video yet. Good on you for still posting it! I feel your pain. I did a 13.5 in my BA XR8 and I backed off prior to end (idiot), then I had a tailshaft issue and that was it lol. I am so keen to get back out there. Your car is awesome. Looking forward to you going back out there and smashing it.
Glad you enjoyed it! Was a learning process for sure.. next attempt I’ll be ready
@@RossReviewsau can't wait to see it!
Hey John, I love the car and especially the sound when you push it.
👌👌 screamer
bro 1:51 was so motherfuckin hilarious lmao, i cant 🤣
🤣🤣🤣
Don't worry mate you will get used to it but you're mostly going against season professionals so don't be too hard on yourself you will be king of it soon mate. Nice F6 to
Thanks for that.. next time ill be better
5k is too low of a shift, 5.7k shift will drop it back into its powerband with each shift. I dropped .4 off my 1/4 time on my old barra turbo changing at 6k. A cooler air night can drop another .5 at motorplex too. Good luck my friend! Drag racing is trickier than it looks 🤙
Thanks for the info
RR blowing up at the drags. C bombs F bombs, agro facial expressions in his sick looking helmet. Love your work 😂😉🇦🇺👊
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
With the experience I've had with Barra falcons, a pair of 275/40/17 et streets and leaving the car in performance auto will see the car go deep into the 11s at 126-128mph.
This particular Falco doesn’t have enough power to be around 126-128 mps trap speed.
@@Pawelmps 500rwhp should be trapping that type of mph
Yeah it's alot harder than ya think, it took me three seperate occassions at the dragstrip with only 3-5runs each time plus a heap of practice launches in "mexico" to drop my time down 8 tenths. Dropping tyre pressure (i went with 20psi in the rear on street tyres) and prepped track helps immensely.
Also as others have mentioned at the casual/test tune days, reaction times don't matter...just taje your time to build boost etc, as the most time is made up in the launch and first half of the track.
Don't beat yourself up mate, it was actually pretty spot on, a 4050 pound car with 490/500rwhp will run 11.7@ 116mph which you did👌
Also don't worry about the tree, just cause it's green it doesn't mean you have to go or your time has started, stay there and build the boost you want then to, timer only starts as soon as your wheels move, take your time if your going for a pb, and those standard cams should still make decent power to 5500 to 5800 pretty easy with out falling off
116mph for a 500rwhp falcon is way too low. Should be going 126-128mph
The win is having fun from it and learning. I'm new to it - I have a Chrysler 300 SRT with 485hp at the wheels. and the best I've done is 12.5. It can range from 12.5 to 13s depending on if I can get her to hook. I thought it'd be quicker. But then I learnt there's a lot more to drag racing that I originally thought. I do believe I can get my car into the 11s, but it'll need drag radials to do it. Low profile street tyres make for no traction off the line, and inconsistent times. Regardless of the frustration, I love being able to learn, and push my car harder than I can on the road. I've been 4 times in the past 9 months, and can see myself going more. It's fun above all else, and that's what matters.
Thanks for posting this video and not deleting it like other YT channels who make everything seem perfect....keeping it real 👍
I've always liked the F6, one of my first rides in a proper 'fast' street stock car when I was young.
good you show realistic results too, so many make up some number but that's an optimal number and not under all conditions
you need like a 1.8 - 1.9 60 ft, drag rads, burn them out, launch hard
Glad you enjoyed it! Definitely a lot more in the tank
Stop short shifting, start in second with some boost, also you don’t have to leave on the light!! They start your time when you break the beams
You’ve just found out that getting a good amount of horsepower is only a small portion of achieving good times. The issue is your 60ft. (You need to be in the low fours) Time gained here translates to around double at the end of the track. 0.1 sec gives you around 0.2 off the total time. Tyre pressure will help here big time. 25psi or so. Standard road tyres aren’t helping in this regard - even better - a semi slick or even far better a drag radial on 15’s or 16” wheel with softer tread wear and being warmed up (burnout) this means you will be able to use 1st gear - vice 2nd (albeit 2nd is better for a street surface). The car is very heavy, any weight saved here matters a lot. Diff ratios maybe not helping. As others mentioned - then comes a higher stall converter. Shifting at 5,000rpm is no doubt hurting your times, the ZF shifts are losing time too. If your protecting the box - then your at a crossroads. Do you bother spending a lot more money to go a little faster at the track (which won’t really translate to faster on the street) or cut your losses and buy something cheaper, lighter, safer, and faster or keep it as it is - a 12sec performance car (which the vast majority of Australian made high performance street cars are 12sec street cars - like 90+%) To run 11’s you’ll need to get off the line brutally quick and that puts strain on a lot of the drivetrain and be prepared to break stuff, lots of stuff. Food for thought.
heat of the moment explains it all, lol i seen heaps of peeps do that. chaulk this down to experience, get better info at next meet, drivers briefing should cover the lights on the tree , pro or sportsman dyo etc , once you clearly understand that, your next meeting will be really enjoyable ..and youll spend less time stressing over the lights and luanch etc .... and completely focus on your job and youll get way better ...and times will come
look i’m not sure if you understand how the lights work. but they don’t magically press a button for green… 1st amber is pre stage then 2nd amber is 7” forward called stage, once you are “locked” in then your sequence starts aslong as other lane is “locked” you should only be looking at your side of the tree once both are locked in.
also an 11 is gonna be very difficult with current setup
also shifting at 5k isn’t ideal, your turbo will be lagging in next gear
I share some of your frustrations I've gone to different tracks for the first time don't know where anything is or how it's done have race marshals and other drivers getting grumpy at you, I'm like dude it's my first time here there is no signs to direct you anywhere or where to go no clear instructions how the hell am I supposed to just know it all?
It’s just trying to get the hang of it but then it kept changing 💀 now I’m ready to run my own race thi
Don’t worry about the green light, you can sit at it as long as you need because your time doesn’t start till the car moves
Don't worry about the lights going green, just sit on the line building boost until you're ready to go.
Timer doesn't start until you move r/t is irrelevant because you did every race with no boost off the line.
Bad race night's happen to everyone, that's part of racing!
Good luck on the next meet 👍
You should already know the ZF is smarter than us Ross. We could outsmart the old 4 speed boxes but the zf is a whole different beast. As a local fella from
Kwinana, I have run that strip myself and I feel your pain from every run 🤣
You should try reaching out to the guy who did the AWD FG falcon conversion. Would make for a cool video
Would love to see that
No offence mate but you need to understand how the lights work, street meets are run under Dial your own what you have on your window is how they work out the handycap to the other car then you also need to learn how to stage a car, bring on first yellow, build boost then bring on second yellow when you are ready to race not other way round LOL
Bruh hearing you getting frustrated just resonates with me cos thats exactly how i feel when i dont do stuff right the first time 😂 least youre getting out there and practicing. You'll get there
Tuff f6 mate 👍💪
Very!
Looking great brother!!
Much appreciated
12.8 is respectable... 120mph trap speed is fast! This is the true measure of a cars performance.
V8's have power on tap & are just easier to drive at low engine speeds.
It’s not slow I just did really bad off the line
No boost, lights straight to green just like a street run. Thx for posting, gotta take the good from the not so good.
That's drag racing Ross, it's harder than people think....that's why roll racing is more popular now
11 second is definitely doable. Running 116mhp shows the power is there. You just need a better launch to get that 60ft down. Drag radials should do the trick
Line locker, C02 trans break, hit of N02👍
Offf NOS 😈
@@RossReviewsau nos it's good for a giggle 😉
But yeah those tree lights seemed inconsistent. Your F6 is a easy sub 12sec car💪
Get some radials man, and don’t worry about the lights do it on your own time. Timer doesn’t start until you leave. My stock g6e went 12.90 at 108 with just a tru trac and radials
Should consider destroking the Barra to lift the RPM on par with the Mustang GT350R. That is the reason why there is no red line on your F6.
Rookie 1/4 miler here. It is a bit intumidating and nerve racking the first time. Just keep an eye on your own tree, and there is no need to go right on green. It won't affect your E/T. Take your time. It's much harder when you have car which requires you to do 5 things before you launch as you approach stage, which is what I find difficult, to ensure all your 'settings' are right.
yes was a rookie error on my part
should try your luck will roll racing. i honestly find it more fun, more fast paced, less stressful on the car and i feel like barras perform better from a roll. i think roll racing would be a great video
Challenge accepted.. il try that next
Awesome vid Ross! Don't be so hard on yourself, twelves is moving for a big taxi. But you don't need to worry about the tree, just wait for the green as timing starts when you leave the line bro. Try a little more boost off the line and get your 60ft times better and you will get that 11 sec pass 👍
It's actually funny seeing GrumpyDad on video 😅
Ps. At 4:43 please lose the 'God Dam' from your vocabulary, we don't need another Zac Baldy
Best thing about Barra T Falcs, down the drags, baby seat in the back 😅
This just shows barras are just all power happy but no go lol! All that power and running high 12's haha.
To run under a 12 second 1/4mile in a barra you need to be making 450-500rwkw minimum.
Yet to see a barra run fast qtr mile times unless they $100k into the set up
Lol even that isn't a great number for that power. These barras are so overrated I swear, don't get why people rave on about them. Can't even take off from the lights and then can't even roll race, they lose all types of races. I don't even get what they're good for, burnouts maybe? Lol
Maybe look into your tire setup, the launch is the problem so work off that. Better rubber tire pressure like you say and a cooler night would help you a lot. Keep at it practice makes perfect, if you don’t enjoy yourself there is no point. But I enjoyed the video regardless.
Thanks for the tip next one will be better
All fun and games till the bt50 shows up😂
I was scared 😭
Good 115mph is a good trap speed, youve got mid 11s all day in that f6. Keep it up mate, probs just the converter and tyres making things a bit harder, im in the same boat as you until i get my box built haha
its got way more in the tank
Don’t worry I can appreciate your frustration,it’s still a quick car in street trim, take into account your tyres were over inflated not to mention you probably running cheap tyres,it’s not gunna help, and starting in second doesn’t work better ,short shiftin into second ,you did give it a go in sports auto, it’s got a high 11 in it to,just hard in street trim, and as a begginer,it be harder but I’d be swearing worse then you at some of those people especially when you get told 10 different stories
Those wild angry eyes 🤣 I remember that feeling!! My car went from 170rwkw to 300 and up to 900nm and the bloody thing ran 14:00 each freaking time 😂 killed me.
Tyres are everything, I knew my car was way faster but yeah they can be assholes down there. Volunteers though.
Many times I’ve seen folks with expensive ass cars piss off because they don’t get the times they expect to get. It’s fun though, you gotta socialize and meet people, it’s great.
I did get my time down but damn waste of time
cheeers for the support brother..
Forget your reaction time.
Your time starts once you cross the beam so sit at the green until you’re ready to go.
Maybe lower tyre pressure and some nitrous is the answer / and tbh maybe some proper drag radials / and you gotta turn up the boost a bit more too / but what you really need is a Halltech compatible computer with software on it
I dont know if i missed it but is the ute being left in the gold coast?
Aussie icon....so clean...thats a keeper...
I love it
You don't need to go on green bro. Let the tree hit green, sit there, build boost and then launch when you are ready to launch.
4 runs is about right for a night if it is busy and some people can get lucky with more being in the right lane. They probably just speed things when its busy to get people through faster.
I also seen baby seat in the back ! What does the young tacka like more fpv or the vz?
Fuck didnt know man generally curious sorry
Loves em both!
insightful and entertaining video as always, actually had my first time drag racing at Calder and only got 2 runs and was also disappointed at my time. few things ive learnt from forums and advice from mates.
tc off its a prepped surface, you will get better grip than the street.
lowering tyre pressure is a must, even on street tyres. do a quick burnout on street tyres (only if running low pressure) cleans off dirt and gets surface warm for more grip, doing it on standard pressure will increase psi and result in less grip.
also ive heard lightly stalling it up to 1800-2000 is ideal for 60 ft times. for a better launch you could start in first then as soon as you are off the line put it into drive or leave it in performance (experiment, you may find a few tenths)
if you are willing, pick up a pair of 17in stockies and get some drag radials like MTs and i believe Pro street radials have just released some 17s
imho, especially because you are on a track i reckon you can start in first and get a better launch than in second, there may be a little bit of slip but by the time you are on boost you will already be rolling a bit and you just need throttle control. by making use of every gear you are in the power band sooner and and be quicker, remeber the btr has a stupid long first gear and by launching in second you are artificially making the your launching gear longer than a btr!
obviously you need to look after the drivetrain with the age and power level of the car but im confident the car can be launched a bit harder with the right changes and you can see low 12s and maybe 11s!
good luck ross!
Johnny's F6 doesn't have a BTR 4 speed. It's a ZF 6 Speed auto and even with the ZF on a prepped track he should still start off in 1st gear. It's 💯% a ZF 6 Speed Auto in Johnny's F6.
@@victorpeirce4753 yep I’m aware, I’m just comparing it to a ba turbo with a 4 speed, if he had more power a proper launch control system maybe then it would be worth starting in second on the ZF
@@mrbnanna8948 Ahh ok. My bad. I assumed that you thought his F6 was a BTR 4 speed with that hideous long first gear. All the best mate. Cheers.👍👍
Im used to be a regular down @ the motorplex i had slightly more power than yours but its not easy getting a rear wheel drive car on true street tyres into the 11s took me 11 runs once i did it then i bought some drag radials and consistently ran low 11s, by the way how many runs did you get on a wednesday clearly you stayed after the burnouts as they change to a pro tree ?
Hi , my fgxr6 turbo tuned by the great Rob from Monsta torque at 510 hp atw was doing 11.7 all night in drive mode . Standard tyres etc , bolt ons
11.6.. man, stage 1 340i from bmw does lower times

Get your tuner to copy the launch program off the FGX. Then you can launch in 1st gear
Awesome 😎 video Ross Reviews.
Glad you enjoyed it
Better tyres
Lower Tyre pressure
Water box burnout
Brake boost
1st gear launch
You’ll get close to your 11
Sounds like a headache trying to get a clean launch, but was great laugh watching your reactions. I think you need to change closer to 6 next time mate, keep at it you’ll get that 11.
we will get there
green light reaction time, launch and grip is a big part of 1/4 mile run
but the times are fine, no need to fuss about it. I wish i had a fast car to go to the track..
not a bad time really but its got more in the tank
No hate Johnny but no need to start in 2nd gear on a prepped strip with no brake boost and changing gears at 5OOOrpm instead of 62OOrpm. For 5OOhp at the wheels it should be easily running consistent 11.5s or even low 11s. Something's not right with the F6. Maybe it was the hilarious looking Helmet giving you those 12.8s..💯😂😂
its def got a high 11 in it i think.. i just did terrible starts
@@RossReviewsau Absolutely!! At least next time you will enjoy it and not feel as rushed and pressured. I still think you will get a better time if you start in 1st gear and change at 62OOrpm and put rear tires down to 18psi. Good luck for next time. I still really enjoyed the video even though you weren't having the best time. Take care Johnny.💯👍👍
I don’t think anyone would regard motorplex on a Wednesday as a prepped track. I’ve never seen them spray it in the last 10 years during the night. If you’re gonna run a time it will be on ya first run. Track just get worse from there
@@finnigan0001 Still HEAPS more grip than the street. 💯%
I think you should go back and analize the best Barras you have tested and look a bit harder at how and why they get the power down. Tires suspension and gearing can play a huge part as well as technique . I bolted a supercharger on my standard motor 6 litre VE ute , stock Auto , bought a draggy after watching you and proceeded to clock 10.8 for 0 to 100 that was slower than my old GTR Torana I just smoked my 30% tread Yokahamas uncontrollably . Bit of practice new 285mm Michelins lift the rear suspension so a little softer now down to 4.75 with 365 RWK.So will be interested to follow your journey and Kudos for posting the video as lesser men would bin it .
Take baby seat out bro 11s all day long 😂
Next time I’m stripping the car 🤣💀
Watching that green light and putting your foot on the accelerator is hell bro 👍😉
I was getting worse and worse 🤣💀
It is frustrating but honestly it is only your seconded time, once the nerves settle you will be fine. Keep at it man.
Yup very true
Good consistent runs man❗️I don't know if you
will get into the 11's with your driveline & wheel setup, maybe with a 3-3500RPM Hi Stall & some lighter wheels would definitely help, even some cheap D Speeds as the factory wheels are really heavy❓️
Next time I go I’ll get a better understanding of where it actually is time wise
I am pretty sure unless the track rules say so. But you don’t have to leave the line on the green.
You have to take traction control off so you get more from each gear.
I have everything the same as you in my bf turbo and you should be sweet at hitting your target
Wait for the light to go green, only leave the line when youre at target rpm.
Youll still get your proper ET, its just reaction time will be slow. But who cares.
Yeh that was my rookie mistake
We've all been there mate. You're not alone
When your only racing yourself reaction times don’t mean nothing. Leave the line when your ready. You’ll still get your time slip
Yeh my bad for not understanding this
I ran 11.9 @119mph with 320rwkw in my fgx, you should be closer to mid 11s, put it in performance mode and stalled it to 2.1k and sent it, let the car do the work, p.s it doesnt go off by reaction time, it goes off by when you leave the line
thanks for that info
Even got the kids booster seat in, that’s mad!
Tyres will definitely help ,I currently have Bridgestone potenzas in 265 on my fg it went 11.94 on them at 114.
Your on track for an 11 with 115mph but it's tyres holding it back.
I'm due for rears so getting Michelin pilot sport 5s soon ,it's what all the falcon guys have recommended as a good all round tyre ,the potenzas are crap on the street although good on the strip ,street it just blows em off (they are 3 quarters bald though atm lol)
And I'd be shifting at 6k ,won't hurt it.
Don't worry about your rt ,it doesn't matter, go when your ready after the green obviously 😬🤣
First run of the day it's a good to do a biggish burnout to get some vht built up on your tyres.
You'll get there don't stress remember it's meant to be fun.
Don't worry the startline twits watch the lights and stage yourself , i ignore them myself.
Hoping to get mine back out soon ,aiming to better my 11.94 ,shouldn't be difficult with an extra 144hp on tap 👌
Have u upgraded valve springs? 1000cc injectors and fuel pump? Wastegate? Bov? Semi slick tyres?
I see your still using the stock boost gauges which tell u nothing they are useless
I reccomend you upgrade to cobalt gauges.
Does the timer start as soon as it goes green? I thought you can go anytime after its green and the timer starts as soon as you go? Or is that only some drags? Or am i completely wrong?
I don’t think so just me being a rookie
@@RossReviewsau I wouldn't blame yourself for that though. Pretty ridiculous on their part. How are you supposed to get good at the timing if they don't even give you 3 seconds to set yourself and the lights are random.
Just build the boost . Standard converter goes to 2200 then just go . 11’s no worries
Yup I’ll know for next time
You are in Perth too? Excellent !,
Yup
When you realise that high 12’s is still a very fast car…Then realising saying I’m here for 11’s… well…
😭😭😭😭
Loving the videos this might be a stupid question u only rev car to 5 grand I was thinking if you got to 5500 6000 rpm would u have been quicker??
It’s at peak power at 5100rpm so it kinda drops off after that power wise
Volunteering boomers on a power trip😂
Tell me about it 💀😭
Just need to race your own race man, don’t worry about the light just leave when you’re ready. Get that 60ft down into the 1.8 it will go 11s all day.
yes next time i will
He is a true Aussie now cosy has the best car in the world
🇦🇺💪
how much does this make at the rear wheels
60ft times are what matters rest of the track , focus on getting that 60ft down and you will get better times try to chase down some micky Thompson's semi slicks will go a long way
I have a 530rwhp fpv gs ran an 11.5 with eveything else stock with M/T's
I start in first and also I use my handbrake and foot brake as I load up and let then both off at the same time on the launch 👌
Best of luck next time bro it's so much fun racing Mates !
