    Personally it would be the supercharger. Turbo just takes some of that precious exhaust note away, plus the low down torque of a supercharger is very nice for daily driving. love the video.

    Once you go turbo, you never go back. There is nothing on this planet like the feeling of a turbo coming on boost and pushing you into the back of the seat, whilst the view outside becomes a blur. Then when you come off boost, you feel like your going to be flung through the windscreen. And the turbo noises and blow off sounds can't be replicated. Replace the V8 with a straight six or a 4 and the experience gets even more intense.

    You'd have liked the BA GT I used to work on. Craig Haystead put the combination together and had a centrifugal blower, liquid charge cooler and retained the 5 speed manual with a triple plate clutch. It had the stock intake and I'm not sure what the engine mods were but it had great tractive effort and was planted. I did the trans for it and sorted out the blow off valves so they were covered by the stock plastics. It sounded like an air tool line blowing apart every gear change, was unique back then.

    After owning a G6E Turbo and a VY V6 with a centrifugal supercharger, and driving me mate's top-mount VT V6 wagon a lot, they all have their benefits. The way the turbo comes on boost at mid RPM and surges more towards the redline is pretty addictive, and the way a top-mount charger gives you that instant shove is awesome too. But overall I think I like the centrifugal charger the best, it just has a bit of both worlds and is a nice in-betweener. It'll give you that shove off the line, but it'll surge towards the redline as well. Only problem is there's a lot of things that can go wrong with a centrifugal charger.

    Hard choice. If I had a 5.4 Boss and between Super-Charging or Turbo Charging the Engine , it would depend on the Price. Also if it was stage 1 super-charger or stage 1 turbo charger install it would depend on how much parts need to be changed. From what I heard the 5.4 boss when moding the engine don't need to change the OEM Injectors, Fuel line and Oil line.

    I used to have a turbo car and one time, I was following my friend in his V8 over a series of speedhumps. Now, my car was actually just as quick as his when we raced but after 4 speed humps, he was way, way ahead of me. That little bit of turbo lag I had was really obvious when I had to back off just when the turbo was kicking in, whereas his naturally aspirated engine was always on it.
    Anyway, I haven't owned a turbo engine since. Naturally aspirated or supercharged every time for me.

    I own a two eco cars that have a turbo and a supercharger and have driven my mates supercharged and turbocharged builds and i have to be honest, superchargers are a lot better around town becauee of the instant torque and power delivery, it makes cars with smaller engine's act like bigger engines but turbos are more fun to get on and get the boost come on and have it push you in your seat a little or a lot.

    • @MrTroytroy
      @MrTroytroy 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@Swwa89 power doesn’t always correlate with speed. These two cars are excellent examples of that. 20” wheels on probably crappy tyres are holding them back. A stock V6 Camry does 6.79secs. A stock Hyundai I30N DCT does it in 5.3secs. (About three car lengths ahead of these two). Ross has tested around 140odd cars and these two achieve 129th and 134th respectively. They are in the bottom 5% of cars he has tested. So they are demonstrably and statistically slow. Interestingly 8 Ford V8’s are represented in the bottom 11.
