Similar to my 93 SC Tbird, you're getting more hp (with more displacement, valves, and screw vs roots). I get 350 hp and 400 lbs-ft 17mpg city at 17PSI. Reliability hit is from first Gen DIS not the blower.
@@enclavevideo You sure about that bud? The Crosstrek is based on the Impreza 5-door, while the Outback is based on the Legacy wagon. Two different base wagon; two different "off-road" wagons.
My supercharged BRZ is a great daily driver and has plenty of power for the track! I put a Edelbrock E-Force SC in my car in the first month I owed it in 2016 and had a custom tune done by DD Performance Research in Houston. I didn't want a turbo kit because of the lag and heat problems, tune problems that never seem to get fixed for daily driving. The SC is just more DRIVABLE over the lifetime of the car than a turbocharged car.
@@kxngshadow5497 on 93 octane I get 284 but that's OK as those engines tend to have rod problems when pushed over 300. The stock wheel HP is 154. Since the car is light and nimble and the power response is instant it's a joy to drive and is quite competitive on the track because it does the turns better than the HP monsters. Track tires, I don't remember off hsnd as a set is only good for two track days and I've done a lot of them!!!) Of course I don't have stock alignment, I quickly modded the suspension to have more negative camber for better grip in corners. I can put a cooler, jack, 5 gal gas can and four wheels in the car and hit the road to the track after driving it daily all week, what's not to like.
When it comes to actual shifting, motorcycles are easier. When it comes to going fast...corner speed on a bike requires skill, balls, decent tires, and a properly set up suspension.
Turbos are a little harder to install because of drilling into the oil pan for the oil line and other things like that, where a supercharger you might just need a new intake manifold, or a bracket for putting it on the front if it's like a pro charger type deal but most companies include the bracket.
I really think it depends on the vehicle. On my Honda that comes with VTEC, I'm going with a Supercharger. I want to get into the VTEC as quickly as possible, and mitigate the torque drop between 2000-4500. With a tune, sparks, intake, and removing the cats, my 8th gen is looking at the 400 range of hp/lbft. I'd refer to it as Stage 2 in the realm of things upgraded. Still gets above 35mpg overall, and it's a lot more usable and fun than stock.

Most people ended up disconnecting their seats until their draw issue was fixed with a new control module. - Alex Maybe I just had some rough luck though!
@@FitmentIndustries I think it's a case of getting what you pay for, if you buy a $7000 E55 AMG you're most likely going to have a lot more issues than paying for a $14,000 E55 AMG that's been sorted and taken care of properly. I remember buying my V70R a few years ago and people were telling me it was one of the most unreliable cars to come from Volvo and driving it a problem free 25,000 miles before I sold it for more than I paid for it 3 years prior.
Turbo all the way. Compound turbo kicks superchargers ass, HANDS DOWN. You get massive power with excellent kick down low (AND efficiency). It's more complex and expensive than a single, twin, or sequential turbo setup, but it kicks all the ass.
I can see that. I gotta B5 S4 already and was watching this video like, maybe a supercharger for my 370z. Back of my mind was like, then I’ll have TWO unreliable cars 🤣🤣😑.
ive got a ‘16 Focus ST and ‘06 R53 MCS. Both very different cars, definitely prefer the supercharger but the ST is a better daily. Not that it matters since i live a mile away from work.
Ahhhhhh yes the old debate of turbo lag vs parasitic loss! In modern day cars I prefer turbos.

I’ll take my 2017 focus ST with 300-ish wheel horsepower. And I get to use the power all the time. Soon to be back out of the shop the 2010 GT with a single 76 mm turbo yeah.
Fellow B5 owner here. Doesn't seem that Imola was a great example for comparison. A well tuned PJ k04 b5 is a hoot for daily hoonigans. An un-tuned "big turbo" b5 is just a ticking time bomb.
My Audi TT MK2 tfsi manual has all 280nm from 1,600 rpms. It's great to have that torque even at higher gears and develop speed super quick by dropping a gear or 2 without lag or delay.
Mariah, check out Nefmoto.com they have free software for tuning VAG cars, when I had my B5 s4 I used it and you can tune for free, just need a laptop and a $15 USB to OBD cord. Plus there are tons of prewritten flashesthat are proven so you don't have to do any of the guesswork, just grab your original tune file and then flash on a prewritten tune and you are good to go.
That's kinda a tough one. Turbos tend to get better mpg but some superchargers have a bypass valve that eliminates much of the drag. Turbos tend to be a bit laggy superchargers tend to be instant. Turbos are usually more expensive, heavier, and complex but more effencent per psi. Turbos tend to be more "custom" and therefore more flexible but if there is a kit available for your car a supercharger will be easier to install.
I feel like this doesn’t hit a huge bias say if you compared an evo to a camaro or something, that’s a much harder way of putting this into perspective

"EeMoLuh Yellow" 😂😂
this really helped me out because i do not know anyone that has the knowledge of both
👏👏👏 glad we can help homie! -Edgar
Opposite lanes, S13 vs S14? Maybe? Please?
The s4 looks like it came straight from crazy taxi
Turbocharger all day for one SIMPLE reason,
ALL THE SOUNDS
Stage III when referring to B5 S4’s is a set of KO4 turbos
Its not stage 3 if it just has a big turbo and no tune. It just has a big turbo
i rock both lol Supercharged B8 S5 and big turbo C4 S4
I miss my E55. It lasted me 7 years before about everything started going, including the blower.
what mileage did you buy it at? i’m looking to get into one, just wanna get a grip on the running costs
Supercharger for sure, I prefer lower end torque
Turbo all the way.
Compound turbo kicks superchargers ass, HANDS DOWN. You get massive power with excellent kick down low (AND efficiency). It's more complex and expensive than a single, twin, or sequential turbo setup, but it kicks all the ass.
B5 looks so good.
My first car was a B5 A4 it sure was a toxic relationship. But the smiles per gallon were priceless.
I like both, and i want to slap a twin screw on top of my 6.0 LS. Maybe I’ll turbo my 350 sbc someday. They’re both cool
I can see that. I gotta B5 S4 already and was watching this video like, maybe a supercharger for my 370z. Back of my mind was like, then I’ll have TWO unreliable cars 🤣🤣😑.
Im trying to figure out the route i wanna go in my LS2. Im thinking about an LSA
ive got a ‘16 Focus ST and ‘06 R53 MCS. Both very different cars, definitely prefer the supercharger but the ST is a better daily. Not that it matters since i live a mile away from work.
Turbocharger for me
Ove owned 2 srt4's and now my ion redline supercharged I like them both.
E55 amg for the win
Depends where you live and how you drive.
Looked up your site.... DEFINITELY keeping it on save and favorites!!! Prices I don’t see others matching! New to the channel and love it so far!!
Fellow B5 owner here. Doesn't seem that Imola was a great example for comparison. A well tuned PJ k04 b5 is a hoot for daily hoonigans. An un-tuned "big turbo" b5 is just a ticking time bomb.
Even though its not an s4 I have a c5 a6 2.7t and I love it
I drive a 2019 Volvo T6 wagon. It has BOTH a supercharger and a turbocharger.... Best of both worlds
I literally just started considering the amg got my first car. The reliable one ofc
The rims on the S4 are just mmmmm🔥
B5 s4 for life!
Anybody know where fitment Industries get there music from?
The cobalt ecotec platform is so overlooked, supercharged and turbo version. So much potential for cheap
The best way to compare is to try Mini Cooper S R53 and R56. Those cars you compare here are entirely different.
always wonder why people ask which, when they can do both. twincharged cars are the absolute best.
Scoot scoot between the knees is my new catch phrase
My Audi TT MK2 tfsi manual has all 280nm from 1,600 rpms. It's great to have that torque even at higher gears and develop speed super quick by dropping a gear or 2 without lag or delay.
I want to buy s4 b5 as my first car I want to know if it’s a good first car
If it ain't smokin' it ain't running hard 💯
This has to be the S4 that was for sale in White Bear Lake a month ago.
The amg sounds like a Dodge Challenger demon or a hellcat Red-eye
Damn just the intro was fire 🔥
I feel like this doesn’t hit a huge bias say if you compared an evo to a camaro or something, that’s a much harder way of putting this into perspective
