Seths interaction with the staff is so much more entertaining than a whooping studio audience
agreed. i actually like these guys in a void rather than with a crowd
Yeah agreed! The staff has a much more nuanced response to everything than a large audience can. It's more relatable.
I have to believe that they ALL read the 99% comments that are similar and have a plan for us even when the gerbils return to the studio
I thumbs upped and I totally agree, but from their perspective, they’re in it for the big laughs. Plus, the networks have a stake in this as well, and-most importantly-they’re the ones who write the checks.
Agree I will miss this 🥺
Maybe this is just a good lesson on why you shouldnt bring audiences back.
My favorite is when audiences clap during a song that doesn't call for clapping,I pretty much have to stop the video at that point
Easy fix: don’t bring the strangers back. I love this 100x more.
Yes, no strangers! 🐾
YES leave the stanges one outside, so we can stay among ourselves
I’m team no strangers!
I've actually been sad to see the audience came back to each show. I think this one will make me saddest of all.
Seth is legit funnier without an audience.
I'm so going to miss this whole dynamic once the audience comes back. This show has changed how late night works, and has honed its pacing to a razor edge.
Come see the show in person! 😊♥️
@@lizrosabassoon lol wish I was NY based... LA gang :(
Seth, you can't keep making this "fan" accounts. Sooooooo desperate
If you look at John Oliver and the return of his audience you can see that the audience has a different respect for timing. I hope it happens here too. Audiences have been USED to make things funnier and you can just add a fucking laugh track. Timing is everything in comedy and Seth has the only timing that still catches me off guard. Please return with a subdued audience
I kinda hope they just don't bring the audience back tbh
Seth’s public discord with the graphics department is giving me life
Graphics keeps screwing up on purpose. They are so naughty. Seth needs to address their naughtiness.
where??? send me
😈
@@JohnDoe-ch7ww Discord (noun) - disagreement between people.
I kinda need more of Seth’s impersonation of his flirty/naughty graphics department in my life.
Keep this format Seth. You're the only host who regularly credits and spotlights his writers, even if it's by taking pot shots at them. Keep it up, let the audience stay home. We love you!
Definitely! When the George Floyd demonstrations were occurring, it felt natural to have Amber on to talk about her experiences. We had seen her a lot previously and so it didn't feel awkward like "here's our black person to talk about black stuff". Contrast that with Colbert where he suddenly trotted out a black writer who hadn't been seen before. It really made me appreciate Seth and his writer spotlighting so much more!
Totally agree!!
Corden's been doing nothing but talking to his crew/writers for months now, and honestly, these 2 channels are the only ones I check lol
Absolutely. Being the former head writer for SNL, we know he takes digs because he loves and respects them, and their craft.
PLEASE DONT GIVE SETH HIS AUDIENCE!! His comedic ability aged like fine wine in that attic and captains quarters - you guys have changed late night shows forever and made everyone who can't be there in person feel like we're in on the jokes. Feels like family, man. And if you do have to let an audience in don't you DARE put Seth in a suit! Let his five different shirts shine!!
Agreed. Also, your comment made me smile. Thank you :) bless you
yeppers
Yesssssss your comment was on spot!!!
Best comment tonight!
Five shirts?😂😂😂 Good one OP
CORRECTION: You just announced that you're going to do a surprise inspection for the graphics department tomorrow. Therefore, it is no longer a surprise.
Just like the writers, they probably don't watch the show. ;)
Yeah, but what are they going to do to get ready for the inspection? Get better? Don't make me laugh.
PLEASE CONTINUE THIS AFTER THE AUDIENCE IS GONE. If you have to bring them back, still give us these behind the scenes!!
I'm almost afraid for him to have an audience again. Of all the late show guys he's had the most obvious fun with an empty studio.
@carlos brum I totally agree! I feel like the real fans are online, and not going to be in these audiences. I hope I’m wrong.
@@msumacc22 if I were still on the east I would totally go just to see the man that kept us sane for a year and a half in person albeit at a distance. I'm in LA. Been debating going to see Kimmel. Even though he had awkward moments I feel he, Meyers, and Colbert dominated the late night pandemic game, but Seth really owned it. He made it his.
Even the guest tell him this audience less format is working.
Listen to the people you call Jackels, Seth.
totally agree.
I really love the vibe that your show has without an audience. I really hope you keep up the fun segments like this even after they come back, it really makes me feel like you're talking to all of us personally even though you're talking into a camera. It makes us part of the fun!
When the audience comes back, I hope Seth keeps the casual look. Makes the show seem more fun!
Oh it always seems fun. But occasionally it IS fun. :D
YES
@Cherry Red See - I enjoyed the skit. I just enjoy the No Audience laughs of the crew when Seth is trying to crack his jokes
*Corrections:* Allie's mouse joke was hilarious and you owe her an apology Seth!
(Loved this entire bit BTW.)
I don’t want to be sad that the audience is coming back but I’m brushing my tears away with my little jackal paws.
😢🐾 Same!
😥😭😢☹🐾 Ditto!
Jimmy and Stephen's shows just aren't as funny to me with audiences back 😔
Fellow tearful jackal here, checking in.
Aren't we all?
Make you a deal. Bring the audience back for the monologue and the interviews then kick them out for a closer look and corrections. Seems fair
Seth has said that Corrections will never have an audience. He said that a while back. So at least we have that.
Come see the show in person and I have a feeling you’d have a change of tune. Being there in person is so much fun and I fully believe that when the audience comes back it’ll be a buncha jackals and will be an absolute blast. I’ll take back my word if I’m wrong, but I have a feeling it’s going to be great to be there in person again as an audience member!
@@lizrosabassoon I just imagine corrections in real time now, and I love it LOL
@@NickKzig “any questions for Seth?”
“Hi yes it’s not a question but I’d like to issue a correction”
🤣
The segment itself will never have a studio audience though which is awesome. It will keep its authenticity
noooo the audience will ruin the monologue! 😒
I can’t express how much I don’t want any other audience but your writers and crew members!
The “mice have feelings” joke is a great one.
Yeah, that should have easily made the cut!
So funny!
Yeah, of all of them that was the one that didn't deserve to be in there.
That's some Norm MacDonald level comedy.
I agree. I legit lol'd at the joke.
It was heartless! Which now is a synonym for HILARIOUS!!!
Please don’t go back to an old format when this non audience presentation is clearly what viewers want. Like so many others , I so look forward to Seth and his crew doing the show this way. I’m not sure others could pull it off, but Seth is outstanding in his very real connection to viewers.
If I was a writer and submitted the mouse cancer joke, and it was rejected, I would question my entire understanding of comedy, because that joke was top shelf.
I can hear Norm MacDonald saying it.
It was a good one!
@@meowmeow8591 Agreed!
Loved it!
Yes, I actually laughed. Not sure why Seth rejected it.
I actually never watched Seth before the pandemic. His delivery without the audience is everything. I have laughed more at complete silence on this set than I ever have with an audience.
Love Seth Myers and the writers. Highlight of my day.
Loved that he referred to bringing the audience back as "having strangers here".
that's what they are; that's what we are. we're strangers lol
@@fernie6299 we're not strangers, we're jackals
NO strangers in this den!
I had a big, sad jackal tear fall from my half crossed jackal eye, Seth!!! That was so off the cuff!! But it m being distracted - I have a correction to do! Time for crying is Friday!
@@gemstonerose4648 i feel like people are so lonely in their lives that they begin to form parasocial relationships with people they've never met as a way to combat that loneliness. it's not healthy. and very creepy.
Seth: Audiences are coming back. This is very serious...and I feel like the serious of this moment will be undercut...
The perfect solution would be to NOT bring the audience back...
But... we're the audience. Us and the people who watch the show live. We never left.
Correction: the depressed mice joke was hilarious. I belly laughed.
The writers are trying to tell you not to bring the audience back.
I laughed ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I love this so much more than the live audience.
This is super good actually. We want more
This show, Colbert, Last Week Tonight - all dramatically better without a studio audience.
Also Daily Show with Trevor Noah.
I couldn't agree more! I hate the audience coming back.
American audiences are over the top in their show of emotions. I know they're encouraged by the staff etc, but it's still annoying & overdone. Listening to Seth doing his thing w/out all the unnecessary hype is much more intimate and enjoyable.
Colbert and Last Week Tonight are not greatly diminished with audiences, and Trevor Noah could do a hybrid and still retain some of what he gained without all that noise, but Seth Meyers is absolutely better without. The Writers and Crew are far better!!
-edited for grammar.
Conan as well!
It's interesting to see how hard joke writers work. Failed jokes reveal how hard it is to write a really good one, especially based on random news events.
Seriously Seth, you are great playing to your writers and crew...I hope local jackals fill your audience and spend the entire show silently taking notes for corrections so I can enjoy the same experience.
Can I just say as a scientist I thought the mouse/scientist joke was funny and unfairly dunked on.
I will also admit to laughing at the mouse/scientist joke the hardest.
Yes!! Cosign. Even the premise is decently solid with different groups of scientists asking a subsequent question of the same population.
i thought it was hilarious. A little morbid for live audiences but still funny.
If we HAVE to have the audience back, PLEASE still do behind the scenes stuff with the staff!
That depressed lab rat joke was great.
I prefer the show without the audience. FYI
Agree...lab rat joke was ALOL funny.
It was the best one. If that's Ally at her worst she's the Late Night MVP.
Her facial expression matches the severeness of the punchline of her joke, that's for sure, LOL
I will miss the silence during Seth's deadpans that eventually lead to the writers laughing in the background. You can't get that with a live audience.
I think Seth's show has LEVELED UP!
This show doesn't need a live audience.
I don't watch the show for the interviews. I watch it for "A Closer look", the news, and the other segments. And of course, "Corrections"! Please don't bring the audience in for the "Corrections"segment!
Feeling very melancholy about the live audience coming back, just won’t be the same….
Melancholic, would best describe how one feels under the influence of melancholy.

Correction, his current audience is live. It's just smaller than before.
Correction inception
Studio audiences are coming back
@@MistressNilah Addendum to a correction of a correction: Both audiences would be considered live, in both senses of the word (live in person and alive). Seth’s writers and crew were his small audience, and the “strangers” (as Seth smartly refers to them) will comprise the full audience.
Also:
Before = Pre-COVID
@@doodoobutter101 Followup to an addendum to blah blah etc: The full audience will comprise the strangers. (Strangers aren't composed of audiences.)
Just came through to say that the bugle call used in the segment’s title card is a call to assemble. I looked into it to see if the wrong bugle call was used and to my surprise it was correct. Just a pleasantly surprised Jackal.
The jackals are self-correcting! It’s so meta!
So graphics was phoning it in but the foley artists in post were on point
Hey, technicallyyy…since it’s a call to assemble, isn’t it wrong to use it for the outro as well? #CORRECTIONS #jackalpaws
@@doodoobutter101 Assemble for departure!
@@glittery_cucumber but we were already assembled! I’m wondering if there’s a bugle call to disperse. If so, they should’ve used that for the outro!
Edit: So I’m thinking Call to Quarters, Retreat, Taps, or my personal favorite for use in this segment, Recall.
This is pure gold. Please keep this as a recurring segment!
OK, I confess, I sincerely laughed at "Popov". I felt bad after. But it was a real laugh.
I love Seth's entire staff. Production, writers, social media... they're all hilarious and delightful and I appreciate every single one of them.
Seth’s writers are the best. I think they all passed inspection.
Correcshuns and inspecshuns! Love this. Comedy gold ❤️
Graphics knew exactly what they were doing!!!!! They’re hankering for a “court martial” from Major Meyers.
Seth, the Corrections Jackals are gonna have a Field Day with this segment!

The audience ruins every late night. This past year with no audience has been comedic gold. Forget the audience
Stephen Colbert's audience are nauseating and I can't watch his show anymore because of those deplorable people cheering every 2 seconds over everything.
@@Myron90 I watched one of the lastest videos on his channel and people cheered for like 20 seconds because he said Facebook was down. Like, why?
And almost all that have an audience it just sucks. They pander to the 100 minority of live audience and those audience HAVE to clap or laugh or sneer at everything. No one can just sit back and enjoy.
@@Myron90 ditto. He panders and so many of his bits last 20 seconds too long to run around the stage and get a reaction. I just wish they knew the majority and meaningful reactions are at home watching every night, not once while in the city
@@italiahockey A lot of times, it’s the show runners that will have the audience clap and cheer and what not. They coach the audience before the show starts on what to, how long to do, and when to do stuff. However, I agree that having no audience is preferable than having one.
This skit was HILARIOUS.
Is it just me or was Seth acting just like one of us Jackals? One of us, one of us!
Regular segment PLEASE!
This feels like a parent having a sit down with their kids to tell them that while they can still have fun, granny's gonna be visiting for a month and everyone's gonna have to be on their best behaviours, starting with cleaning their rooms.
the mouse cancer is a good joke, made me lol
You don't need to have strangers back, Seth!
Stranger Danger is real! I'm so sad Seth keeps reminding us, almost daily, that the live audiences will be back. Ugh.
Never replace the Scollins picture. Never let him live it down!
I'm sure he will make that exact gesture in response to Seth analyzing the joke haha
Maybe the knitting community can get him some sleeves....
I feel like the silences really work with Seth’s sense of humor and have actually made Seth’s show better.
The mice joke was hilarious 😂
the Jackals welcome you to our ranks Seth, you continue evaluating these writers
The mice cancer joke reminded me of Norm Macdonald. Was gold.
Reminded me of Seth’s joke, so many years ago, when he anchored “SNL Weekend Update”... “The first cat to have knee replacement surgery at a cost of $8,000 ... as opposed to free total cat replacement.”.
@@sunshine3914 😂oh my gosh😂
Now that’s a joke worth remembering!👏👏👏
A Norm MacDonald homage for sure. Great joke. It was strategically placed in the middle of the set for that impact. Good show!
This is Seth Meyers doing Corrections on his writers. Love it.
I love Seth's lowkey frustration lmfao
Best call for submissions for new writers I've seen in a long time
I feel like there was a missed opportunity for the airport joke. The guy that forgot it should have said: “Oh my God, I’m mortarfied!”
If I may, audiences aren't worth losing your connection with the staff, like this is gold my guy.
Seth & Wally is my favorite couple in TV history.
Dude.. the mouse cancer joke was gold! I had to pause to get myself under control. ..Of course it was the delivery that landed it. XD
Half of these I totally laughed out loud 🤣🤣 what are you talking about. This about to Popov!
Ikr! Same here (although possibly not the same half of the jokes, and therein lies the problem...)
Knowing Seth's relationship with his staff, this bit had me roaring with laughter and my dog barking with confusion by the end. I love how Seth has turned into an incubator of talent.
I’m gonna get real philosophical here; live studio audiences are not needed anymore. They are a relic of a previous generation new to TV who loved loud noise and shiny bright things. Today’s 18-45 have sharper wit and don’t need other people laughing to tell us what’s funny. Personally I can’t stand laugh tracks on sitcoms and don’t watch them anymore now that I’m not a kid. And don’t even get me started on whooping. We don’t need or want the extra noise. We just want the satire which is a craft that this last year I think Seth has mastered.
Agree!! I especially can’t stand the shrill whistling; hurts my ears.
Thank you!!!!! Very well said.
That's pretty insulting to us 45+ we don't need or like it either. Never did, fyi
I understand why you gave the target audience numbers but just w most all things there are exceptions. I've been watching Seth since SNL back when I was in my early 50s. So I may be out of the lines of the demographic that they seek, folks like me know a great comedian when we see one. Especially one that aligns w my political beliefs. In any case I will sorely miss our private tet'a-tets w Seth and the crew. It will never be the same after next week. But... "Everything must change. Nothing stays the same..." George Benson. Enjoy our time together while we have it.💖
many popular appreciated comedic shows have laugh from audiences. Many fans if they were in the area would love to see the taping of the show. Also laugh tracks/audience laugh isn't so much about telling you when to laugh but to make it more enjoyable and make you laugh because laughter is inherently contagious.
That Manchester By the Sea bit had me laughing all morning....Meyers after dark? Get it done.
These will definitely remain for the YT subscribers, I like these segments. :)
The mice/cancer joke really stood out. Because it was actually good!
Correction: That Macbeth joke was amazing.
Only because of all the ones before it.
It was honestly my favorite 🤣😂
Every time Seth mentions the stupid audience is coming back it guts me all over again. His show has become, by FAR, the best late night talk show in North America, and a lot of it is because of the more casual tone, the off-the-cuff moments with the writers and Wally, the 4th wall breakage and the genuine laughter of his crew at the jokes they themselves wrote. I've said it before, it became self-referencing and just plain _weird_ at points and it's all the better for it, but there's no chance of any of that continuing with the audience there.
A true, true shame indeed. :(
This is right up there with the bits where Seth makes a writer go on stage and explain their joke after the joke has bombed.
Exactly what he needed to do.
I DIED at the bird joke & the mouse study joke 😂😆🤣
I’d like to thank god and NBC for this bonus content
This is pretty much what I imagine rehearsal for SNL for weekend update is like and it's the joy I didn't know I needed. We don't need the strangers back.
The sad mouse joke was hilarious
I've enjoyed every single late night show much more without a large whooping audience.
Omg please make this a recurring segment. I just watched this 3 times in a row.
Aly's mice joke was awesome and I absolutely laughed out loud
I feel like we should be throwing garbage at these guys yelling " Shame! Shame ! Shame! Shame!" 😂🤣😂🤣 It's hilarious that Seth is showing their pics for each joke
Except Scollins..
Please keep the format like this! I have lived watching Seth interact with his writers/crew! One of the few gifts of the massive changed and upheavals we’ve endured the past 20 months is the new better format with no live audiences. So refreshing! So much funnier, feels more authentic and genuine.
i thought that cancer mouse study was pretty funny.
and karen, for someone so innocent looking, seems to have pretty dark humor.
It was Ali's joke
it's because she's korean! we're all dark and like to laugh!
I was so pleased when that week's Corrections included Ali's joke, because I agreed that it was absolutely a solid joke. Actually it was such a bad week if Seth _had_ included it, so far from being substandard, it would have been one of the best monologue jokes all week!
Mouse joke was the best, actually made me laugh out loud.
The mouse depression joke was great...doesn´t belong in this group of bombers!
For real though, Alley's (sp?) joke about the mice was hilarious. Passed inspection.
