The 5 plus Jon and Conan, although that might be *way* too much for one space, even for one episode, particularly with the big C clown energy if he goes apeshit like he does so well sometimes. 🤪🤣

I'm so used to seeing Seth not wearing suits on his show that it's now become strange seeing him wear a suit on other shows.
You know he made a funeral joke checking himself out in the mirror after putting it on.

I haven't seen Colbert on another late night, and I watch all but Kimmel regularly, fallon and Oliver not at all. I guess I only watch 2/5 and sometimes Kimmel if it auto plays after Colbert.

Seth's story of what Stephen "missed" (photo ops and oblivious Brit fans) is priceless.
You just know Oliver will be telling that story at some point. Seth is right, he's always amused by his lack of popularity in Britain.

I appreciate how Seth is keeping the Late Night franchise true to its roots... more silly weirdness akin to Letterman/Conan, the way he regularly features his writers and staff, does character-in-the-audience sketches and not to mention just other absurd comedy bits. They're not always amazing but it's a perfect balance to all the political material they do so well. Seth is the closest thing to Conan we currently have

Silly weirdness? I grew up watching the original Tonight show, with Steve Allen, then Jack Paar. Never much liked Carson, and we retired to France in '92, so I've never seen Conan. I stopped watching TV in '09, when the system changed, and landed on YT to keep up. I love Seth, Stephen, & John.
I love A) how Seth has created an entire community of pedantic Jackals, B) the way A Closer Look goes a bit of the rails mid-way through every time, and C) his random absurd bits like Jewels and Best Case Scenario, Worst Case Scenario, and One With Bees.

I feel like all of the SF5 are some form of wizard... For example, Colbert is a typical Gandalf the Grey, Seth is like one of those stoner wizards that makes the best fuckin potions ever and nobody can understand why, and John Oliver is Harry Potter with an actuarial degree.

Strike Force Fight Five was just great! My favorite bit was Fallon not asking the wives questions in a way that they understood how to answer. Wives(responses) & Husbands were just great in those podcasts.

I can empathize with Seth regarding birthday celebrations. As a person who celebrates their birthday on December 29th each year my birthday is an afterthought. It's wedged perfectly between Christmas and New Year's. As a child I always got birthday presents wrapped in Christmas paper

The best I've ever seen a late show do is right at the end of Covid on Seth Meyer's show. The last two months where it was just him and his crew. Since then I would say Stephen Colbert's writers are knocking it out of the park.

This was delightful, and may I remind the producers of all Strike Force shows that Marvel made a FORTUNE with, essentially, cross-over stories. People like them.
I would really like to see Colbert do a return visit to Seth's show, if only to hear Seth's response to Stephen's thunderclap sound effect. "I expected you to do better." All five late night hosts should be required to produce a Strike Force Five sound effect. The comedy would pretty much write itself.

You know what I like about this? Your "strike force" is actually modeling the kind of behavior that people can't seem to find in the public sphere these days. The past late night rivalries were always uncomfortable and, quite frankly, absurd. The fact that the 5 of you can get together and collaborate, have fun, and continue to roast and call out those in the news -- is great! As you continue to mock our politicians and make us laugh (thank you for that!), I hope that you appreciate this little gem: Who knew that our late night comedians would be better role models than our politicians? 😁
