  • A road no one in the history of mankind have ever been on. The tear down and rebuild of an Ls1 motor. It’s almost like the previous videos of Erik’s Firebird Build don’t even matter at this point. Matter of fact they don’t. I tried making this Ls1 swap quick and easy while the whole time spending as little money and time possible on it. But NOOOO… someone just had to tear the whole motor all the way down to nothing. We’ve definitely reached the point of no return only to return with all brand new parts. Now I don’t plan on going crazy with the engine block itself. Think of it as a mild Small Block 5.7 build. Tomorrow I’ll pop into Schap’s Automotive Machine Shop and drop off the Ls1 block. I really want to look into finding a better way to prep and repaint it with the same Pontiac Blue color. Should I have it powder coated? Leave a comment below 👇🏻
In the next episode of Erik’s Firebird Build we will move on to prepping the firewall for paint. Take a wild guess what color it will be.
I’m also thinking that I should do some much needed upgrades to the suspension. Custom control arms and adjustable shocks. Of course all new ball joints and bushings.
At this point we’re not leaving anything untouched.
Strap in and stay tuned… (Get it)
Because the real fun is about to begin.
