A brilliant evening. Roxy were on fire. They seemed to be enjoying it so much too. They played the older stuff superbly- just like the old days. This, Ladytron, Dreamhome and out of the Blue exceptional. Wasn't expecting it to be so good.
I agree completely. I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was as they are not as young as they used to be (who is) but they did not disappoint. I actually found it to be quite an emotional experience. I have been a fan since I was 14 ( 50.1/2 years ago) and this is the first time I have managed to see them live. They are my musical hero's.
@@trevorhumphrey5691 I can totally understand that. I think it was the tenth time I've seen them over the years and I found it very emotional. There were people around me in tears at some points - during Dreamhome for one.
Nick, couldn't agree more that they seemed to be enjoying it. We've been to see Roxy/BF around 60 times now and we've never seen Bryan Ferry so smiley and relaxed. So fantastic to see Phil Manzanera and Andy Mackay back on stage and as for the Great Paul Thompson, what a legend - he's back where he belongs. And that enormous crash of the drums just before "but you blew my mind" was like a thunderclap going off inside the arena. What a night!
I was at the o2 they were absolutely brilliant . I knew Roxy were still good and Byran. But hearing them live they did blow my mind. My first time seeing them and this is going down as my favourite concert I have ever seen. ROXY I ❤️ U.
I flew from Florida to Texas, Austin to see them, awesome and it was something else when at the last song "jealous guy" Andy went bananas after having been so quite and reserved all night. I appreciated Jorije almost respectfully laid back to let our ol man go for it. God Bless you for the decades, the music, the excitement. GO ROXY
I paid a lot of money but for the exact reason I thought they will never go live together again. I got the 50 years Tshirt, this is f...g amazing, they were out of this Worls
❤❤❤❤ Roxy Music, saw their 50th Anniversary concert in Chicago, 9-19-2022. Takes me right back when we (Rodney, my late husband introduced me to Roxy Music November 8, 1975) ❤ We played Roxy at our wedding & reception. Wish they would play in St.Louis when the come back to the states.❤❤❤Shake your head girl with your ponytail....
I was a long-haired, flannel-shirt-and-bell-bottomed "Topanga Canyon rock" guy going to HS in south-city StL in late '73, when a friend who was into "glam" brought the first album to school. Seeing the gatefold pics was already a mind-blower - then I heard the songs, which "finished the job". Sounds like it was a great nuptial!
I agree, to me it is one of the most beautiful songs ever written. In the early years the vocals in particular for this song had a level of intensity, that Bryan Ferry lost later. The "constant" of the drum pattern by Mr. Thompson kept the 3 parts superbly together. The instrumental part with the saxophone at the end f the 2. part ... Mr. Mackay made his instrument wailing, complaining, crying... it all had an intensity that was not reached here. I assume it sounded a lot better in person. And I am not complaining, really.
Do you know the film ' Flashback of a Fool ' ? It's basically a film based on this wonderful track . I was at the 02 that night but I think the live version on Viva is still the best version . After listening to so many ( often great ) 3 min pop songs in the sixties to hear this amazing track at Chatham Central Hall in 72 was a revelation!
It was absolutely brilliant. I especially love the first two albums and If There Is Something is one of my all time favourite Roxy songs. So pleased it was included in last night's set.
@@TinSoldier777 I agree, the first 2 are also my favourites. Do you mind me asking what seat number you were sitting at? We were on E357 and E358 and had a very similar view.
@@TinSoldier777 Yes if there was only one Roxy track I could take to a desert island then it would be this - although the version on Viva would be my favourite . I saw them in 1972 by chance and having been raised on 3 minute pop songs ( often brilliant ) in the 69's I was astonished by this track ( amongst others ) . Loved it ever since . Great night at the 02 but was so overwhelmed couldn't take it in , so thanks for posting ✌️
Was a great evening. We all know it was the last major Roxy gig. And what could be better a slightly wet overcast miserable November evening in London. But it was Friday night, and it was Roxy Music. Best looking AUDIENCE I have seen. Best music. Best lyrics. And although we don't go out often..when we do ..we have a really ..really... good time...
I first saw RM at the Liverpool Stadium in the late 70's as the mid set to Nazareth and Rory Gallagher. Sensational! Sorry, but if this clip is typical of their performance now, let's just live with our memories.

Great night seeing Roxy, they were brilliant 👏 ❤

I was at the last night of the states leg of the tour at the LA Forum. It was an amazing experience, so worth the flight from Portland Oregon.
Il maestro and his mates, Thank you!
Andy Mackay and PH are in Roxy Music and are still playing superb
If there is something is so so smooth! Bryan Ferry is so cool classy elegant innovative talented! Such enjoyment!
