I heard Dance Away a lot on the radio in 1979. It was my senior year in high school. It was also my introduction to the band and I've been a fan ever since!
I saw Bryan Ferry in concert approximately 4weeks ago,in Wellington, New Zealand. It was an outstanding show in every way.The singers and musicians accompanying him were all very talented.Bryan Ferry is classy,on and off stage. If you get a chance to see one of his concerts, you won’t be disappointed.
I worked next door to Bryan's London home, in the early 80s. We'd occasionally get his post mistakenly delivered with ours. I'd see him passing by several times a week, and I was once behind him in a local newsagent's whilst he purchased a packet of Marlboro. He was tall, slim, sharply dressed and very handsome - just like his photos.
Bryan Ferry is a class act very outlandish in his fashion and embellishments yet a very classy, noble gentleman who sang with such haunting beauty and timelessness. We love you always Bryan!
A friend turned me on to Roxy, The Sirens album, in 1981. In 1983 I was picking someone up at the airport in Boston. Bryan Ferry was on the same flight from New York. I talked to him for 5 minutes alone at the terminal. Very humble. He had a bad cold, too.
Outrageous that they don't even mention Eddie Jobson. He changed the entire sound of Roxy after Eno left and contributed greatly to their three best albums and to their enormous success '73--'76!
I'm from Washington in the UK where he is from. My dad new his dad at the pit. I almost get the feeling if it hadn't been a success he'd still be proud of the work.
Seen him in Cork City, I seen him behind the scene he suffered in silence, not trying to use it to sell, a real person with a real voice in Small Area and Bryan blew the lid off with that voice..

He is the greatest style icon the music world has ever produced, with Robert Palmer a close second. Their music has covered more ground than any three bands you can think of, and Bryan was the godfather of the New Romantic movement. The ultimate chic soundtrack, from the beginning to the end.

@@TheRealActualBryanFerry I was introduced to Roxy Music in the mid 70’s by my friend’s older brother and saw my first show in 1979 at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. What a fantastic interview with the great Mr Ferry, such an influence on many others and produced some of the most memorable tracks, the band consistently turning out classic after classic and they still sound fresh today...
I think it's safe to say that, had there been no Roxy Music, not only would Duran Duran have not come along, but ABC, Spandau Ballet, Style Council, and, yes, A Flock Of Seagulls, also never would have existed. To say that Roxy was influential is vastly understating it.
The Rock and Roll HOF isn't what bestows legitimacy on a band like Roxy Music but what it CAN do is draw attention to their music and legacy to the larger public. I had a general awareness of Roxy Music as an early pioneering art rock band in the 1970s and I was certainly aware of Brian Eno's work with David Bowie and U2 among others but coming across this band since their induction I've taken a deeper dive into their catalog and really have gotten into them lately. I'm sure I'm not alone there.
Every year the Rock and Roll hall of fame bar gets lowered. Except fo this one moment this year when Roxy Music was finally inducted and honor way overdue
10th Legion : In 1984 I was in Germany with the Army . I bought a cassette " Avalon " I would listen to it on the bus ride from Butzweiler ( village I lived in ) to Trier ( oldest city in Germany ) My girlfriend at the time , Renate , worked in Trier ! I went back in 2017 , we briefly got together , and I took the C.D. "Avalon " . Once again almost 35 yrs. later , I was listening to it in Butzweiler and Trier . It always reminds me of my time there. I just finished recording a C.D. project with Lon Van Eaton ( Apple Records ) about songs I wrote while in Butzweiler ( 1984-86 ) . I also just recorded a song about Trier . It was such an important time in my life and that Album takes me back every time I hear it . Thank you Brian / Roxy Music.

Let's see, apart from Roxy Music: David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Tom Waits, Van Morrison, Steely Dan, Neil Young, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Traffic, Hawkwind, Frank Zappa, Queen, Supertramp, Genesis, King Crimson, Sex Pistols, Thin Lizzy, Joy Division are pretty bright spots to me.
Duran duran is finally inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame last year!
Don’t stop the dance is such a great f n song
I heard Dance Away a lot on the radio in 1979. It was my senior year in high school. It was also my introduction to the band and I've been a fan ever since!
I simply adore him and his music . Two years ago my dream became reality when I saw him in Milan . ❤
2022 Roxy Music and Bryan are now 50 years on the scene, oh my god legend!
This is one band I really wish I had gotten a chance to see in concert, grew up with them, glad they've been inducted, truly, truly well deserved
I saw them on their Country Life tour. I'm glad I saw them but they were not very dynamic on stage, except for Eddie Jobson.
Bryan Ferry is a class act very outlandish in his fashion and embellishments yet a very classy, noble gentleman who sang with
such haunting beauty and timelessness. We love you always Bryan!
More than this is one of my all time favorite songs. I was 12 when it came out.
My best song! It's a beauty, that's for sure
A friend turned me on to Roxy, The Sirens album, in 1981. In 1983 I was picking someone up at the airport in Boston. Bryan Ferry was on the same flight from New York. I talked to him for 5 minutes alone at the terminal. Very humble. He had a bad cold, too.
Brian Ferry, one of the sexiest men of all-time to grace Rock & Roll's stage!!!!!!!!
I don't know about one of the sexiest but he sure was full of himself
Yes, he’s got that certain something
There should be an instant ban on anyone who gives a damn thumbs down for any Roxy Music video on here!!
lynch mob def
When I got here there were 18 Bieber fans
You must be a Democrat! BTW. Am a Roxy fan myself.
How very authoritarian
FUKKIN' AAA
FINALLY! Roxy Music was absolutely essential to the new romantic, punk, new wave, even goth.
Most of those bands hail Roxy as influences.
One of the truly great bands of their time. Art rock at its finest.
Outrageous that they don't even mention Eddie Jobson. He changed the entire sound of Roxy after Eno left and contributed greatly to their three best albums and to their enormous success '73--'76!
He got his moment the day of the ceremony. 🙂
You love the right band - but 3,4,5 were definitely not their 3 best albums. By far not!
More people learn about Roxy Music every day. Im 47 and today im am learning about Roxy Music. How did i miss this?
Loved Roxy Music since their beginnings. Just one of the true originals in pop music. Brilliant!
Still love Roxy Music until this day, just fantastic music, Bryan Ferry was great.
One of the best concerts ever attended was Bryan Berry. An underrated giant of modern music.
I'm from Washington in the UK where he is from. My dad new his dad at the pit. I almost get the feeling if it hadn't been a success he'd still be proud of the work.
So glad they got into the Hall Of Fame.
Seen him in Cork City, I seen him behind the scene he suffered in silence, not trying to use it to sell, a real person with a real voice in Small Area and Bryan blew the lid off with that voice..
Bryan, looking forward to seeing you in Detroit in August! Aging like a fine wine Sir!!!!
One of the most beautiful and talented men Britain has ever produced.
I have never been able to imagine Brian Ferry as a working class Geordie. Truly a self made man in all respects
Jon..yes I respect Bryan Ferry for his work ethic! He has always done a professional job and he is a hardworking classy elegant man! I attended msg nyc sept 12 2022 and the a whole group was wonderful! It must have been a lot of effort performing songs written 50 years ago in different cities all in 1 month!
" A Very Happy Birthday " To Mister Bryan Ferry " One Of The Most Influential Sophisticated Cultural Icons Of " Both The " 20th And 21st Centuries!!!! From Adrian Browne 1965
Been a Roxy Music fan since when I first saw them perform Virginia Plain and as much as I love all their albums, the first 4 are still my favourites. Saw them live many many times and still listen to them all the time..Also love Bryan Ferrys solo stuff..That guy is the epitome of cool..Definitely deserve their place in the Rock and Roll hall of fame..
Still gorgeous after all these years.... Yay!!
Congratulations, well deserved.
Bryan is adorable!!! 😎
They were popular in Cleveland Ohio due to airplay on WMMS back in the day. They opened their first
American tour in Cleveland. A truly great band.
Bryan Ferry and Sting - two of Newcastle's finest exports. My personal spirituality has been positively and seriously strengthened by these two geniuses...
He is the greatest style icon the music world has ever produced, with Robert Palmer a close second.
Their music has covered more ground than any three bands you can think of, and Bryan was the godfather of the New Romantic movement.
The ultimate chic soundtrack, from the beginning to the end.
I’ve seen Roxy Music and Bryan Ferry a dozen times in the last 45 years including the 50th Anniversary Tour and I’m eternally grateful for them especially Bryan.
Thank you Zeke for being a fan all these years!
@@TheRealActualBryanFerry I was introduced to Roxy Music in the mid 70’s by my friend’s older brother and saw my first show in 1979 at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. I saw the 50th Anniversary show with him all these years later. Music has an incredible ability to bring people together and I’m always grateful to Danny for introducing me to RM and progressive and glam rock all those years ago.
What a fantastic interview with the great Mr Ferry, such an influence on many others and produced some of the most memorable tracks, the band consistently turning out classic after classic and they still sound fresh today...
Fan since the beginning, innovatiove beautiful music, he got it all, love all his and roxy musics records.....
Greatest musician! A shame they weren't in Hall of fame before. They are such a essential band in modern music.
I'm 22 I luckily got to see them recently it was awesome.
I think it's safe to say that, had there been no Roxy Music, not only would Duran Duran have not come along, but ABC, Spandau Ballet, Style Council, and, yes, A Flock Of Seagulls, also never would have existed. To say that Roxy was influential is vastly understating it.
Not even the sex pistols
Damn right!! Martin Fry has to be his illegitimate son
Yes, and they also influenced David Sylvian and the band Japan.
Chic was also influenced by them.
Depeche mode as well... you can see Dave Gahan singing along to "Love is the drug" in a backstage scene in their 101 documentary.
Saw him this week in Atlanta. What a great concert it was.
His solo work should also be recognised too! Boys and Girls Album is a timeless masterpiece.!
Exactly. Boys and Girls is one of favourite albums of all. It is a sonic masterpiece.🌠✨
SUCH A WONDERFUL SINGER .........WHAT COULD BE ........ MORE THAN THIS ....... SUPERB TIMELESS JUST SOOO BEAUTIFUL
HOF is a sham but Roxy music definitely deserve all recognition.
At 3:52 the person on the left of the screen is Robert Fripp Another super star in those days
Every year the Rock and Roll hall of fame bar gets lowered. Except fo this one moment this year when Roxy Music was finally inducted and honor way overdue
10th Legion : In 1984 I was in Germany with the Army . I bought a cassette " Avalon " I would listen to it on the bus ride from Butzweiler ( village I lived in ) to Trier ( oldest city in Germany )
My girlfriend at the time , Renate , worked in Trier ! I went back in 2017 , we briefly got together , and I took the C.D. "Avalon " . Once again almost 35 yrs. later , I was
listening to it in Butzweiler and Trier .
Yes that is where they belong in the Rock N Roll Hall of fame. Big influence on many bands that followed including crimson pomegranates. We are big fans of Roxy Music.
I heard Avalone back in the '80s and it has since remained in the top 10 albums I never get tired of listening to. Roxy and Ferry are a rare, priceless, timeless combo.
"I blew you up and you blew my mind!"
Half the generation of young men wanted to be Bryan Ferry. The other half wanted to be Bowie.
I wanted to be both
I wanted to be Orville Redenbacher

Just saw him last night in Boston. It was amazing. Just awesome
