Sortie Op. 96 by French composer Mel (Mélanie) Bonis (1858-1937), played on the 1906 Setterquist & Son organ in Falu Kristine Church, Falun, Sweden. The organ's façade was inspired by the famous 1631 Lorentz organ in the Holy Trinity Church in Kristianstad, southern Sweden.

Power, passion and triumph!💪💓Until now I’ve only played Bonis’ more lyrical and quiet organ pieces, but now it’s time for another side of her, as can be heard in this magnificent Sortie!💥Although relatively short, this piece is so much more than just some jolly music for walking out of church, it has the struggles of life (and Bonis knew all about those…) but also the victory over said struggles, ending in total triumph!✨🌈Of course it could be viewed through the lens of Easter as well - triumph of life over death.✝A wonderful reminder of what a wonderful composer Bonis is!
