  • Pièce in C major Op. 157 by French composer Mel (Mélanie) Bonis (1858-1937), played on the 1906 Setterquist & Son organ in Falu Kristine Church, Falun, Sweden. The organ's façade was inspired by the famous 1631 Lorentz organ in the Holy Trinity Church in Kristianstad, southern Sweden.
    Here I'm using: GR: Bourdon 8', SW/GR; SW: Rörflöjt 8', Salicional 8', Flûte octav. 4'; PED: Subbas 16', Bourdon 8', SW/PED.

Behind the simple title "Pièce" hides another little Bonis gem…✨The gently undulating motif at the beginning permeates the entire piece, moving through different keys with no real melodic development, it’s just pure emotion, pure beauty, and it has this melancholy warm sunset light so typical of Mel Bonis.🌅I think it just fits so well to the bright evenings we’re having this time of the year. Hope you like it, and as always - don’t forget to click the thumbs-up and subscribe!😃
