    TEXT
    'A Prayer' by Alfred Noyes
    Angels, where you soar
    Up to God’s own light,
    Take my own lost bird
    On your hearts tonight;
    And as grief once more
    Mounts to heaven and sings,
    Let my love be heard
    Whispering in your wings.

      @@LoyisOne can appreciate that there may be some who have talent and are able to sing like this without
      having to work hard to make such a beautiful sound. Others who have a little bit less natural talent, but the desire to make something that sounds like they are naturally talented are just a few of the reasons why I love these types of songs. 🙏🏻✨🕊️

      Sublime music, the sounds of birds, sunlight, the kindness of people, animals, the sound of rain, scripture, the waves of the ocean, and hugs are some of the ways that I feel connected. Anything connecting falls into the "spiritual" category for me but music might be the most powerful of all.

    I'm sure you guys looked into the background of this song before performing, but it makes it even more beautiful. Jake composed this after members of his choir were killed in the 2015 Paris terror attacks. The choir learned it within a week to perform it at the funeral of the deceased

    • @tychoman
      @tychoman Месяц назад +6

      That’s not necessarily true. According to his website the work was performed at the vigil of a singer who died in the Paris attack, it was not specifically composed for that.

    • @carloscamejo7532
      @carloscamejo7532 Месяц назад +4

      Not necessarily correct. It was composed about a year before that -- my choir at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, USA was probably the fourth or fifth to perform it. It gained new life after the Paris attacks in November 2015, and one of the casualties was a student in the US. That university's choir recorded and learned that piece and that's where its main recognition comes from

    Это одна из моих любимых хоровых песен, с ней связано много хороших воспоминаний.
    С осени 2018 по весну 2022 я пела в хоре Polifonica, пока вынужденно не уехала из Беларуси. В нашем огромном репертуаре была эта прекрасная песня, мы её часто исполняли на своих концертах.
    Каждый раз, когда я пела с хором Let's my love be heard, у меня были мурашки по коже. Скучаю по тем временам и по хору Polifonica. Для меня было большой честью быть частью этого прекрасного коллектива и вместе с ними участвовать в международных конкурсах и фестивалях.
