    This is really surprising. I chose Cerys because I thought they were doomed if this guy lead. Well, I'm happy he turns out a decent fellow. What irks be if he doesn't become king is that they exile him for his mother's sins, even though he basically told the truth and saved Cerys' clan from death.

    • @walterc.dornez7672
      @walterc.dornez7672 9 лет назад +695

      Yeah it didn't seem right, the fact that he didn't side with his mother and forced her to tell the truth about what she had done should have been enough to regain the honor of his clan and let him become head of it, instead he's exiled for a crime he didn't even commit.

      It makes no sense. The guy is the only reason his mom is found guilty because he literally provides the /thread testimony and they exile him? Wat. How does that support honesty and justice? Punishing people for being fair and speaking truthful?

      This perfectly shows how sometimes inaction is the best course of action. Geralt poking his nose where it doesn't belong can prove damaging more often than not. Just like Shani says, Geralt has a big bad habit of being a busybody.

    I find Svanringe interresting as a character. He's always quiet, never really let anyone knows what he really has in mind like most skelligans loud personnalities, but when he acts, it's worth more than a thousand words. His mother tried to make a puppet ou of him but he's the son of his father Bran : a true skelligan. He's a badass imo, the skelligan king who united all the clans against niilfgaard.

      Stop thinking that only the right(or left as i don't know your political views) can be fascist, I (a Libertarian) just don't like taxes and want to be left alone; and let others do what they want,provided they don't impede others liberties. Case in point, you can easily be a autocrat centrist; because money can be a separate issue to freedom.

    it's funny when you compare Skellige's future depending on those choices and our own history:
    -Cerys: Skellige goes in a so called "peaceful isolationism" with some ocassional civil wars, reminds me of the Icelandic Commonwealth
    -Hjalmar: Skellige stays the same way, honoring tradition, trading in peaceful times, raiding when at war, similar to the Norse-Viking era
    - Svanrige: Skellige adopts feudalism, based on same tradition like that from the Continent, reminds me of a medieval Danish or Swedish kingdom

    The funny and kind of sad thing is this ending means that the worst choice for king is actually Hjalmar. Cerys is best since she unites the clans through peace and leads Skellige to prosperity, but Svanrige also unites the clans against Nilfgaard. That in itself is impressive but frankly an all out war with Nilfgaard is still a bad idea. And Hjalmar just basically leads a bunch of raids that end up with a large loss of life, and the clans aren't even united!

    • @punishercastle5487

  • @yuhufeng5370
    @yuhufeng5370 5 лет назад +41

    Part of Svanrige's personality and political inclination are revealed when you help Cyres investigate the bloodshed. Svanrige will standout and accuse his mother and got both his mother and himself capital punishments, just because he doesn't like his mother's plots and means. At this point, you can sort of telling that he's in some way like Hjalmar-he has a strong sense of justice and not good at strategy and politics, but less impulsive and radical.
    As for their ruling style, you will realize that for the benefit of people of Skellige, Cyres is the best choice and Svanrige is the second best. As for Hjalmar, it's just suicide. This is obvious for three reasons:
    1. Skellige is mostly mountain, meaning farming like continental states is impossible. To survive, Skelligans need to raid coasts of the continents, which happens to be Nilffgardians. Consequentially, Skellige became an unstable factor in the eyes of the Emperor. However, unlike Toussant, being non-threatening and wealthy enough on its own, Skellige is barren (needs aid) and costly to rule(nationalistic, like Temeria). Thus the Emperor will need to either block it from the continent by destroying its military or force Skelligans to transform their economy.
    2. Skellige is not a continent but made of isles. Resulting in a political structure consisted of a bunch of powerful jarls instead of a centralized government under a monarch's control. This structure makes Skellige rather unstable politically. Jugo, one of the jarls defecting to Nilffgardians is the best example.
    3. Skellige has a strong navy but has limited resources to support a long-last war, whereas the Nilffgardians are both wealthy and powerful. Skellige will not be able to hold any longer as soon as the North is defeated.
    So you can see that Skellige really doesn't have a choice. It has to either join the empire or prove to the Emperor that it's not a threat by stop harassing continental coast. Cyres did just that.
    As for Svanrige, he reformed the political structure and made it a monarchy. It allows Skellige to be more efficient and giving it more power against the Emperor. However, it's not a safe path. It might work like Roche's guerrilla-too effective that the emperor has to think before starting a full-scale war. It might also irritate the emperor because of Svanrige killed the Nilffgardian ambassador and keeps making Skellige a threat. So Savnrige is a very risky pick as Skellige is not likely to stand a chance in front of the Nilffgardians, but uniting the isles might change the game.
    As for Hjalmar, literally the worst leader possible. Despite popular, he cannot unite the jarls like Cyres and Svanrige nor is good at strategies like Radovid. And above all, he wants to fight the emperor. Skellige will be doomed if Hjalmar takes place.

    Svannrigh is the best option becasue he puts a end to the elective monarchy, thus having a clear line of succesion. Which will prevent tons and tons of civilwars, making Skellige prosper in the longterm

      @KIDAS First of all why would anyone want to invade skellige? The Islands are out of the way and without significant resources. Not only that but they would be an absolute pain in the ass to hold since the Skellige population would rather die than to submit to a foreign power.
      Also just because their "fangs are dulled" doesn't mean their military isn't just as large as it was. It could very well mean that they've stopped raiding and because of that aren't as battle hardened.
      Furthermore war against Nilfgaard or Redania even with all clans united would be suicide. The Isles wouldn't stand a chance against the undivided attention of a continental power.

He gave his people the courage to fight against great odds and because of this, he united his people and created a greater kingdom in the end.

    • @ZWXYZ021
      @ZWXYZ021 6 лет назад +6

      They are died. Because without Geralt help, they never found the evidence can clear their clan name.
      Until now jarls found out "traitor Birna" behind this. (She said she wants to let Svanrige be king. In fact, she just wants to sell Skellige to Nilfgaard.)
      So they choose attack nilfgaardian fleet, but neither return. (Character journal said they die).

    So he’s like the king beyond the wall from game of thrones since he united all of skellige against nilfguard. Only difference is that his people are more civilized.

    I always choose to help Cerys because I thought she was the best option and her and her brother were the only options but heres this dude keeping skellige, well skellige which is still in a way kinda bad because their traditions are still barbaric so I still think Cerys is still the best option

  • @sergiomuniz350

    Can't say I saw that coming

    🌟 *The crach family have been great at protecting skellegen kings.*
    So this is the best option against nilfgaard.
    But if Ciri is empress, then cerys should be queen and diplomacy wins. Both sides prosper.

    Heh, who would have thought that would be the best ending ?
    Cerys does well and all but while she brings peace she also makes them go soft.
    Do both Crach's kids help you in the battle if you do this option ?

      +Dave “Ragnar” Bostock regardless of what child you help, Hjalmar will join Kear Morhen, but if you save some of his buddies during his mission they will join as well, currently i made it to 3 additional characters helping in kear morhe with Hjalmar as king, i beleive its only Hjalmar if Cerys is chosen, have yet to check this method

      Oh please why would you ever chose a woman who can die of childbirth in those ages to lead bloodthirsty norsemen? Why just because she is a women? A violent man is needed for a violent country that is the way of things in life.

    • @NA-tu7nt
      @NA-tu7nt 7 лет назад +17

      Tojetaj Nikolic men die faster than men, specially in that age, because of violence and other things,men have been dying faster than women since cave man- time.
      Cerys have nice looking birthing hips, less likely to die from childbirth.
      Cerys can get them out violent raiding times, and instead of take them towards progression, so she can reduce dying at young age for men and women.
      Hjalmar at lead end up just like his hunt for the undvik giant, with almost everyone dying, and ones who came out, came out because of Geraldt anyway, including hjalmar himself.
      Hjalmar = bold but 0 brains.

    • @VojislavMoranic
      @VojislavMoranic 7 лет назад +4

      Hjalmar is the best because then later Radovid can invade after he wins the war of course.
