- Hi Beauties…. Welcome to my Channel!
In this video I am back again with another Silozi language. This time around I caught Mwii Sezuni by surprise. It was so much fun speaking My language Silozi. I enjoyed filming this video in Silozi language. Please feel free to correct my silozi in the comment section. Also please assist me with the Silozi words that I used in English. I want my SIlozi to really be strong.
According to Wiki:
Lozi, also known as siLozi and Rozi, is a Bantu language of the Niger-Congo language family within the Sotho-Tswana branch of Zone S (S.30), that is spoken by the Lozi people, primarily in southwestern Zambia and in surrounding countries. This language is most closely related to Northern Sotho (Sesotho sa Leboa), Tswana (Setswana), Kgalagari (SheKgalagari) and Sotho (Sesotho/Southern Sotho). Lozi and its dialects are spoken and understood by approximately six percent of the population of Zambia. Silozi is the endonym (the name of the language used by its native speakers) as defined by the United Nations. Lozi is the exonym.
The Lozi language developed from a mixture of two languages: Luyana and Kololo. The Luyana people originally migrated south from the Kingdom of Luba and Kingdom of Lunda in the Katanga area of the Congo River basin, either late in the 17th century or early in the 18th century. The language they spoke, therefore, was closely related to Luba and Lunda. They settled on the floodplains of the upper Zambezi in what is now western Zambia and developed a kingdom, Barotseland, and also gave their name to the Barotse Floodplain or Bulozi.
The Kololo were a Sotho people who used to live in what is now the Free State province of South Africa. The Kololo were forced to flee from Shaka Zulu's Mfecane during the 1830s. Using tactics they had copied from the Zulu armies, the Kololo conquered the Luyana on the Zambezi floodplains and imposed their rule and language. However, by 1864 the indigenous population revolted and overthrew the Kololo. By that time, the Luyana language had been largely forgotten; the new hybrid language is called Lozi or Silozi and is closer to Sesotho than to any other neighbouring languages in Zambia.
Lozi is also spoken in Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Namibia (Zambezi Region).

I’m from South Africa, I speak Sesotho and I can understand like 85% of what you’re saying. 🥺
i'm pedi and I just had to see this one, it's shocking but very interesting.
Me too.. I literally watched to see if I'll understand. Aaah man it's easy I think they would also understand Sesotho 🤞🏿
Watching this from South Africa, Bolobedu aka Bolozwi 😭😭 I felt some real goosebumps and emotional ❤we are one people 🙏🏾😭
As Mosotho I can say the one in Red has the accent on point. The one in black can also speak Silozi. She has the vocabulary but the accent is not there yet. But she knows Silozi💯 Btw in South Africa(Basotho) we call your language Serotse and we call you Barotse. You are our kinfolk. You are speaking Sesotho with a few phonetic differences like ts* becoming z*, r* becoming l* and tl* becoming t* and other few changes. Otherwise Silozi is Sesotho💯
Im from Lesotho and this is pure sotho. I need a visa soon for the beauties❤
Zambezi is definitely on the top 5 places to visit. Like?! What? Silozi sounds like Setswana.
Beautiful makeup ladies😘

The language is the same as Setswana, Sotho and Sepedi.. Its on that SeLozi they speak very fast and deeper notation of the D and T
Almost parallel to Khilozwi/ khilobedu spoken in the northern part of Limpopo
Say sesotho, Sotho includes all those three languages. It can be Southern Sotho, Nothern Sotho and Western Sotho (tswana)
Bathong... le tswa kae lona... le buang Sesotho ka flavour.. la ntlatsa. #SESOTHO

Am a lozi lady, wow these girls are amazing...
Iam telling u guys , Lozi is the original version of sepedi, setswana and sesotho before we all all splits 😢
No. Learn History. Silozi was created by Basotho who migrated from Free State and conquered Balozi in the early 1800s by the Great King Sebetoane.
@@shisuiuchiha480 Interesting ke Mosotho and never knew this. Definitely gonna read up more.

@@Max-jn7gz sepulana is a language spoken in Northern Mpumalanga
@@mash288 there is no such as Estern Sotho you are Sotho.
@@spicefix_cooking Sepulana is distinctively different from Northern and Southern Sotho. The problem is the government does official recognise Sepulana as a language rather as a dialect which is not accurate as we our own kingdom and our language is distinctively different just like Kelobedu. We should Batswana, Basotho and Bapedi aren’t the only Sotho speaking kingdoms.
@@mash288 but you must understand there is more than 11 languages in SA they just didn't want them to be a lot instead they put grouped languages that are alike into one group just so they cannot be a lot each culture would have power and there would be so much going on e.g education wise there would have to be so many books of different dialects as long as you know what you are individually I think you can keep it that way. Also you must know Pedi is a dialect the actual term for all languages in Limpopo is Northen Sotho with different dialects Northen Sotho covers all the spoken languages spoken in Limpopo including Lobedu that include Sotho/Tswana words apart from Tsonga and Venda, all of this languages related to Sotho and Tswana in today's term are called Sotho-Tswana it doesn't matter how you pronounce and all that the Nguni people are Ngunis because of relation in their languages so is Sotho- Tswana
Wish I could speak it. My dad was half Lozi and Tonga from Zambia 😊
Very beautiful lozi woman. I am lozi and tonga on my mother side

@@simasikuelsiisiill8999 Caprivian....is it a tribe or ... , we learning about our distant Cousins
Caprivi is a Region/Province. It's now called Zambezi Region.
I could 80% hear and understand because they are speaking a lot of Setswana words. ❤️Id like to understand the history behind Silozi
It’s Sesotho. But Sesotho is similar to Setswana so that is why you understand them.
@@shisuiuchiha480 There are three sotho languages namely sepedi, setswana and sesotho. Setswana is a sotho language.
@@blessingmamabolo1682 True. But the Sotho dialect that developed Silozi is Southern Sotho from Lesotho. Listen to the words they use that are in Sesotho and not found in Setswana and Sepedi. If you know these 3 languages you will know the difference in vocabulary. But if you cannot differentiate the 3 then you won't pick it up.
