Many don't know this but, Animal Man is actually a magic character. He's the Avatar of the Red, the mystical embodiment of all animal life. The Red chose him to act as it's Avatar until his daughter comes of age, because she is it's true chosen one

I think James Gunn knows as he did list Jeff Lemire & Travel Foremans Animal Man run as his favorite from The New 52... which makes me think he will be introduced in the upcoming Swamp Thing project
Static, Power Girl, Jonah Hex, Zatana, and Starman, and to a degree S. T.A. R.girl are my favorites on this list. Starman and Stargirl could have powers that rival or are similar to the Indigo Lantern core, since they use staffs to manipulate the energies for their attacks.
Hey, no mention that John Constantine, The Human Target, and Swamp Thing at least had their own short-lived live-action series? Matt Ryan, who played Constantine in the series, then went on to reprise the role in "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" and voice him in several animated projects. There were also two "Swamp Thing" movies in the '80s, and a "Constantine" movie in 2005 starring Keanu Reeves.

There have been talks of rebooting the "Jonah Hex" movie. Some of the writers of the last script were not happy with how the movie was directed. Also, it's nice to see Amanda Connor's artwork shine on Powegirl! That made me happy. :)
Fun fact: Pierce Brosnan took the role of Dr. Fate because he likes the Dr. Strange movie. A shame they killed him off in the lamest way though. Brosnan as Fate was the only good thing in Black Adam.

Captain Atom isn't underrated just because of his powers, but his comic series was pretty good. It was an intriguing military espionage thriller that put a fresh twist on superhero storytelling. Too bad no appearance since then has captured that.

I probably would've swapped Constantine for Mister Miracle & Big Barda (or honestly any of the New Gods). Man's had a live action movie, main roles in multiple animated movies, a live action TV Show and main roles in other live action shows.

Personally, I always felt that the most underrated and underutilized DC character was Kyle Rayner. He's proven himself as the ultimate Lantern and has the imagination and artistic skill to match, but aside from a few video games, a single episode of Superman: the Animated series and like 5 minutes of Justice League Unlimited, DC has done basically nothing with him.
I know this doesn't count but there's an underrated DC team which is Creature Commandos, but there are two science fiction DC superheroes that are underrated as well Adam Strange and Captain Comet.
If they ever make a Zatanna movie, they better go with her top hat design. Also, if she was younger, I'd cast Carla Gugino as her. I also want Rebecca Ferguson but she played a top hat before so it'd seem weird.
Most definitely agree… It would be hard to make it into a TV series as it has a very rich history and people would, IMHO, really appreciate it if their story is told… Shade is also a very interesting anti-hero because of the series…
