Awesome video as always! Lots of bangers on this one with a preference for the blue hours shots. I currently have two frames left on my first roll of Kodak Gold 120 and hope it will turn out as good! Seems to be a great alternative to the classic 120 stocks from Kodak. PS: Congrats for the 500 subscribers mate!
Cheers Noah man! Really appreciate that! Totally agree with you, Gold may just become my medium format go to after this! I still have 3 rolls left! Thanks so much as well, 500 ain't that big but I'm chuffed about it and just hoping it stays there for a while 🤣
I like that you tested it in so many different situations, especially the blue hour and backlit shots, it really shows the capabilities of the film stock. Lovely photos too! I like the moodiness of your blue hour shots, maybe I’ll do that for my first roll of Kodak gold 120 too 😂
I didn’t mention this in the video, and I should have, it’s obviously not the best for night shots. The reciprocity rate meant that I had to pack up before the sky got really dark, or else I’d be shooting single shots for hours out there! But thank you Bon! Appreciate the kind words and I hope you get to shoot some good soon!
your review leaves no questions unanswered, very good. 👌 so far the best test video for gold 200 120 because you have tested so many different scenarios. I had bought a pack of portra 400 two years ago at the same price that now costs gold 200. crazy how everything has developed. D I would love to try gold 200 120 but my fridge won't let me buy any more kodak gold. 😄
Ah Daniel thank you man, really appreciate it. With all the Gold you have collected in 35mm you may just have enough to stitch it together and make your very own 120 film if you wanted ha ha. I'll save a roll of Gold for you and if we meet up this year you can test it out!
@@thefilmdaddy haha i could definitely make my own 120 film. XD If I would post how many roles I have most of my viewers would want to kill me though. 😅 Are you coming to Germany this year? That would be really great!
I very well might be, although we are still waiting for my wife's passport to be processed. Currently, we are in the UK, but as soon as her passport is ready we are crossing the channel to explore Europe man! I will give you a shout when we know what we are doing.
Great video, beautiful shots! When you say the shots represent what you got from your lab, I assume you allow them to do edits to them such as density and color, correct?
Thanks so much! That's actually good to mention, all labs edit your shots in the scanning process to some degree. These images were baseline jpeg scans so I imagine there will be a colour balance + contrast workflow as well. But I still think these images are a good reflection of what Kodak Gold is capable of 👍
@@thefilmdaddy For sure, I imagine this would be the run of the mill result assuming you're not asking for edits and hardware is the same, thanks for sharing!
Superb video man! I really enjoyed it. It's a lovely looking stock and I appreciated how you put it through its paces! Those night shots were special! I would get myself a box, if I hadn't been bitten by the large format bug lol pls send help.
Thank you so much Simon, chuffed you enjoyed this one. Gold is really something special man, and who knows maybe they will release it in 4x5 format by the end of the year! Crazy time to be a film photographer. I wish you nothing but amazing images on your large format adventures! Maybe there will be a video up one day of you shooting it?
@@thefilmdaddy Thank you so much! I really appreciate that! And I'm definitely keen to do a large format video sometime soon. I've just started a project on some Ilford FP4 Plus, so maybe I can document some of that process. I've definitely been inspired by your videos, Brendon! You're doing amazingly and I hope you continue to grow and grow!
@@simonwolfson9228 ah man! Thank you Simon! It’s been tough making these and putting them out and to tell you the truth I’m pretty negative and doubtful about this whole venture so it’s very reaffirming to hear that!
I have heard whispers of this actually. Willy Sheepskin said they were, however I have not got mine back from the lab just yet so I can’t say for sure.

Oh boy ❤️
Gooooooold ✨
are the negatives “thin” and curly?
I have heard whispers of this actually. Willy Sheepskin said they were, however I have not got mine back from the lab just yet so I can’t say for sure.
I have since got the negative back from the lab Timmee. And I can finally report much flimsiness and thinness in the actual negatives myself.
MILLIE
