As far as your question regarding depth. I think surface water temps during the morning are cooler driving the thermocline up. As the temperature start to increase the thermocline drops and fish follow. Oxygen is disassociated less with coler temps and I know that 54 degrees is typically where zooplankton live. Did you happen to open the stomachs and see what they were feeding on ? Great video I cant imagine how bit those kokanee are going to get in the fall......18inch average.
Good advice re: locking base - I lost a Folbe Jr. because I had it in a Scotty gearhead base.... I pulled it out to reel in a fish and the holder popped out of the gearhead and then disconnected while I had the whole thing mid-air... and over the side of the kayak... 😞
First of all thank you for your great videos. As a newbie Kokanee fisherman I've learned so much from you. Do you sale the Kokanee rods you used and described in this video? 2nd question where do you find all the great materials you use in your tubes flies. Mainly the Vedder fly? I'm a fly tier and love making all the Kokanee lures. Thank you for the Summit lake video, Closes Kokanee lake to my house. Keep up the great videos and the explanation of gear and fishing thinking you use to catch fish. OK, I found your web site and info on rods. I've ordered from you before but didn't see the rods.
Thank you for watching Billy. Glad you found them. Sorry about the price but USA made with the best components and assembled by a true craftsman in Eugene Oregon. Most my materials come from fly shops or eBay
Try a chamberlain. You can load the rod as much as you want while having a super light to multiple pound release.
Great Video!! Thank you
one of my favorite lakes to fish once you fing the bigger school of koks then its on.
Last 3-4 years they have been thick but you said it perfect. I landed on that school fortunately
Catching my babies! Nice work!
Palmer used to be like that.
does the warmer water and fish change the meat (taste & softness)
Most definitely. Later in the summer some lakes the Kokanee have a muddy taste
Can I ask what music was playing in the background of this video? I would like to have it.
I wish I new. I pay for a copyright free service
Can you do a video on how you set up your humminbird 2D sonar settings?
Could you record a go pro video on your truck how you launch your boat by your self. Thank you
Great idea thanks. I will do that
