This is…………. …………. Definitely something I will do again. Are they trash like most people say? No they are not. More bones yes but they are very good I planned to film the cook but hey it didn’t happen. Fish and chips, grilled or any which way. They are mild flakey and tender. Don’t believe the haters. Get out there If you have any questions I will share exactly when where and how. Go get some. ...

    I use vintage Daiwa fiberglass rods with a fly reel. I add 60 ft of mono ahead of 15ft of braid then the backing. I adjust depth by changing out weights (0 to 4 oz). I fish out of an 8 ft pontoon boat (oar powered) and I do well. I also tie my own tube flies. Don’t need to overthink it. Kokanee strike out of curiosity or defense just get their attention.

    • @NorthwestCatch
      @NorthwestCatch 22 дня назад

      @@cirwin4099 yes multiple times out of lapush and Neah sometimes 30-40 miles out. This boat rides incredible in swells and 2 foot chop. No slapping at all coming down off a steep face. Average speed on the ocean on a decent day is 18-20mph. 12 mph when the wind waves pick up. What this boat doesn’t like is the 1 foot chop in the Puget sound. That gets annoying.

    I've been running 10lb line end-to-end and don't have issues with tangling. I just turn the clicker on during line-out to keep it at a sane speed. I might try a thicker bumper thought to see if I like it.

    • @NorthwestCatch
      @NorthwestCatch Месяц назад

      To get the clam of course. We are digging in a very unstable sandy mud. You have to dig an cone so the hole doesn’t cave in to much. Once you start digging you can’t stop or else the hole would not be a hole anymore.
