That’s what I thought. Then it started getting hit like crazy. I ran the same spinner on other rods with a big arrow with half the success. I should have mentioned that in the video. I wouldn’t have made this video if we only fished 1 day but this was 5 days on the water.
I too make all my Kokanee gear, with the exception of making my own dodgers. Already have too many and don't need to add any more though. Thanks for sharing your ideas.
Before you painted them or bent it , I would get a small wheel buffer and butt those dodgers , I can guarantee you can get polish finish on ur new dodgers, they seems dull and don't throw lots of reflection ,
As a saltwater fishin' Florida man I look at that stuff and I'm glad we don't need it. What a strange rig for catching fish. But hey, if it works, great.
I’m glad you commented. I was actually thinking about this when I made the video. If someone is watching from the east coast or another country they must think this is crazy haha. Thank for watching.
@@NorthwestCatch Not many Kokanee on the East Coast. There are some in a Lake in Connecticut that I believe that were stocked a long time ago and have naturally reproduced. Spilt Milt fished it during his Kokanee across America tour.
@@NorthwestCatch, awesome! Thanks for letting me know! I made a couple for myself from spare sheet metal, but it is a lot of work. Thanks for sharing your tips. 💪🏻
Nice! Thanks for bringing us along on the learning journey!
No problem. Thanks for watching Matt. It’s always a better day when everyone is catching.
Interesting.... thanks for posting.

Anytime thanks for watching
I'll be trying these next year at Wallowa! Got my big fish on arrows.
What model rod& reel would you recommend for down rigging, fishing for trout & Kokanee?
FishKokanee.com 8ft or 9ft for dropper or downrigger paired okuma coldwater SS

Great idea. And ya they are dull and need a shine for sure. Thanks
Do you sell better flies?
Ya the Vedder fly is currently out of stock at FishKokanee.com but I will tie up more soon. I try to do 10 a month. Thanks for watching Riley
Thanks for getting back to me.
Try bending one spoon over a beer or soda can, not much just a bit. I have had good luck with that trick if you have not tried it already.
What a great idea. I definitely will try this. Thanks J

Did you ever try these out? If so, how did they fish?
