@@NorthwestCatch hey man. I really like your videos. My friend (“hooked for a nice meal.”)started his RUclips recently as well got similar north river boat too, we’re new to Kokanee tho. Maybe we can collaborate sometime.
Next time I’m out Kokanee fishing I will try. I only made a few small tweaks. Other than that it’s pretty much the stock setting. I always leave it in clear mode full view in the sonar setting.
For sure ran the Vedder fly always do. Sounds crazy because I make them but the 1 I had was coming apart after 50 or so fish so I didn’t fish it a bunch. I only had that 1 with me
Sometimes I see you set up with both down riggers off the back, sometimes both are out to the sides, like in some salmon videos a of a year or so ago. Then I see some set-ups like in this video with the port side (kicker motor side) out to the side while the other is off the back. I usually run the riggers off to the side and the droppers off the back. You catch way more fish than I do. What is your thinking about when and why you set up the way you do?
Way less tangles when I run the starboard rigger off the back and let a longer Kokanee rod get the line away from the boat off the starboard side. I don’t really have a choice on the port side because of the kicker. I can actually do really tight turns and still not tangle. Of course if I’m just dropper fishing I run 2 droppers off the back but I do tangle more.
@@fortnitebattlepass-69 no problem. What’s harder about weights is knowing where they are at in the water coulomb. That comes with time on the water. Line counter reels do help a lot so you can get back out to excactly where you were if you get a Kokanee. All it takes is 1 kokanee most the time to bite then you repeat it.
Lol as my 4 year old is watching NWFS right now😂 love his positive and adventurous videos. So does my little girl
It is funny how they all feel like "big fish" then you get them to the boat and laugh. Great video!!
Exactly haha. They do feel huge. I swear haha. Then I see them and go oh ok
Awesome video. Looks peaceful out there.
So peaceful. Even during the derby. Everyone played nice and it was a great time.
Haha Leif’s easiest recipe 😁 I started doing those too after watching him.
They are so good. I need to do onions and mushrooms next time.

Looks like a great trip, lots of fish and good food with friends. I’m headed to Roosevelt in a week to try my luck there. Nice video, keep it up.
Thanks again Bill. Have a blast on Roosevelt
That’s one amazing way to enjoy Koke! 👍👍👍
It really is!
Good looking fish. You gotta love a good bounty. I caught a few over here in Idaho my own self today.
Right on Ray. These fish are so tasty. Idaho is on my bucket list
MY HOME LAKE! They are pretty small this year. Two years ago I was getting up to 17-18". This year I've been averaging 12".
12 with a bunch over 13 and some at 16. Our biggest was just under 16 the day before the derby.
What a beautiful emerald green lake
So nice. I can’t wait to get back. Everything was nice. Campground, boat launch etc
Maybe there is but I can't think of a better tasting fish eaten fresh like that.... thanks for posting!
Thank you for posting. We are planning a Victoria trip and I just watched yours
@@NorthwestCatch sweeet.....beautiful place, love it there. Thanks for stopping by... appreciate it.
Great stuff man, some of the best, if not the best, kokanee content on RUclips!
Wow thanks so much Zack.
Oh I cannot wait to try my next Kokanee, like this!! Crappie would be really good too!
Definitely!
Nwfs is the king haha
Can you give us a tutorial on how you have your hummingbird 2D sonar set up?

Hi guys. Looks like fun. Did you try the tube better fly? I have not been on Detroit Lake in 20 years. Thank for the tour.

Quick question do you need a downrigger to troll for Kokanee?
Wait nvm
No not at all. Dropper setup will do or inline weight or snap weights
@@NorthwestCatch oh ok thank you
