I just finished replaying it and did the very same thing, used it as a see-saw. The problem is its very similar to physics puzzles in the main game, so I guess most people will do that. It still gets results though, which is a neat thing about Valve games.

I always find the episodes less repayable because they’re more story heavy. HL2 isn’t very light on story, but it has a lot more time spent on your way to objectives, as opposed to being at them.
Hey I have no one else to say this to... Half-life was the most important game for me as a kid (halflife), a teen (hl2), and now alyx an adult and my best friends were the same way. Upon the release of alyx my friends were furious and refused to play because they were pissed it was in VR. I just want to say if you are fortunate enough to own vr and alyx share the experience with them. I went so far as to offer my vr headset and computer to them, they declined. I don't know other people close enough to share the experience. Everything Philip says is as if it is coming from my own brain and even though he lives overseas I feel like our experiences were almost identical. Thank you so much for all the great content hopefully someday at a csgo event we can meet.
Episode 1 was the first Steam game I played. Back in 2010 I discovered that Portal was more than just the 2d browser game, and I instantly wanted it. One day I saw it piled with The Orange Box in my local GAME store for about £10 and took it home excitedly. I had to make an account on something called Steam and worse still - I had to download the games from the internet rather than install from the disk. Madness! My rural broadband at the time was so slow that I had to choose a game to download over night. I figured that Half Life 2: Episode 1 sounded like the first in the Half Life 2 series. It was the smallest download after all. I had a blast with it, never understanding why the gravity gun was so effective against the combine but useless against the zombies once I'd left the citadel.
If there’s a Half-Life 3, it has to cut down on the dialogue. In Half-Life: Alyx, I understood the decision to have Alyx speak, but it definitely hurt the immersion. I don’t like having the protagonist tell me how to feel as opposed to just letting me decide.
You know it took me 22 hours to beat Half-life yet I beat everything else (Opposing forces, Blue Shift, Half life 2, ep 1, and ep 2 In 20 hours. What does this show, my brain is 0 when playing Half life

It's interesting also how HL2 and each of the episodes ended at a cliffhanger. If Valve wanted they could have stopped at HL2's base ending and kept Gordon frozen for another 20 years.

Yeah, it's pretty much just more of HL 2. But the first time I played Episode 2 I was hooked! Alyx getting injured had me nuts :D
