I am very interested in what causes hair texture changes and hair loss in (black American) babies and young children. A lot of ppl wonder if it’s due to them laying on their hair or a lack of nutrition or haircuts before age 5. I personally don’t believe it’s the haircut because I’ve seen the change happen by age 4 with or without a haircut. Also what are the best products to use on babies and young children? Should we care for their hair the same as older kids / adults ? Or is less best ? Hope this gets to you! LOVE YOUR CONTENT ! All the best 🤎
I love, love, love this video. I truly learned so much Curly Chemistry. Thanks for sharing your wisdom with us. Would you do some videos on best ways to care for aged natural hair that no longer stretches.
I love Sulfur 8. I started using it again early this year, specifically on my scalp, and I haven't had dandruff problems in a long time. I really appreciate your videos where you bust myths about ingredients in natural hair community. I used to think silicones and grease are the devil but your videos convinced me otherwise and now my hair has never been healthier. In 2022 I would like to see more videos on myths about ingredients especially with this clean beauty trend of exaggerating claims about ingredients for marketing purposes. I would also appreciate more videos on shampoos, bentonite clay and ayurvedic cleansers like shikakai and areetha. For shampoos I'm interested in the differences between surfactants. Why do some shampoos with gentle cleansers strip the hair and why do some sulphate shampoos leave the hair moisturised and not stripped? Are sulpahtes the only clarifying ingredients and is there such a thing as sulfate-free clarifying shampoo. Is a shampoo with suphates automatically a clarifying shampoo? Why does a bottle claim that a shampoo is moisturising but when you use it it strips your hair in one wash? And I'm interested in knowing how bentonite clay and similar clays work and if they really clean the hair. And is it true that they are clarifying? There is so much conflicting information and cosmetologists' opinions are divided on this topic. I would appreciate insights from a cosmetic chemist. I would also like to know if shikakai and areetha are as effective as store bought shmapoo. Can they really wash off store bought products produced in the lab with traditional formulas or do they only work on similar natural ingredients?
I would like for you to do more videos on medium porosity hair. I know that your main focus is low porosity, and you cover high porosity a little bit, but I haven’t been able to find too many RUclips influencers who either have medium porosity hair or include that as a topic in their videos.

There is a product for horses that I know MANY people swear by for growth and scalp issues. From my experience, horses are more sensitive to ingredients than we are. It's called MTG and is a sulfur product, but is it actually safe for people because it's only $12 for a huge bottle 😆
I can attest to this product! I used to use it alot years ago and I just recently started using it again. It grows my hair like crazy! Only con is that it has a bad smell.

It depends! As mentioned in the video cystein does, however amino acids like silk for example that are in hair care formulations may not contain it or may not have an efficacious amount to be of any benefit.

Can you talk about Ayurvedic ingredients dealing with protein sensitive, low porosity hair? I tried a DIY fenugreek treatment and my hair fell out. So now, I reduce DIY’s.
I definitely 2nd this request. I had to cut 6 inches due to protein sensitivity & now have protein overload again because I didn’t recognize an ingredient as protein since it wasn’t obvious, silly me 😖…fenugreek makes my scalp slightly burn & gave me a headache. I’m also lo po.
Optimistic Me Do you know what ingredient caused the protein overload? And what product was it in? I’m constantly reading labels to reduce proteins in my products.
@cutenobi - I used Camille Rose Algae Renew. It made my hard so soft the 1st time, 2nd time a week later was a little rough, but I thought it was because I did a rush job on the whole wash day & was stil being optimistic since the 1st was a success. The 3 time was a nightmare! I didn’t recognize any protein, but realized coconut oil causes protein buildup, & my hair HATES coconut oil; I believe that was the culprit. Mielle Mongongo Oil Hydrating Conditioner & TGIN Honey Miracle Hair Mask are deep conditioners w/out protein. That I’ll be using. Here are some protein ingredients in hair products: Hydrolyzed (wheat, oat, soy) protein Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein Hydrolyzed keratin Hydrolyzed collagen Amino acids (Silk, milk, wheat, etc.) Cystine Bis-PG-Propyl Silanetriol (Derivative of keratin protein) Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein PG-Propyl Silanetriol (Silicone modified wheat protein) Cocodimonium Hydroxypropyl Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein (Quaternized wheat protein) @Les G - yes, fenugreek has protein.

Great and helpful video! This is the first one of yours that I’ve seen, so Idk if you’ve done this idea already, but I think a lot of people may benefit from an education on ingredients and their scientific names. What I mean by that, is that I’ve seen a lot of people say, “if I can’t pronounce it or recognize it, it’s not a good ingredient,” and I think that your channel could at least help present an informed view on that. Most people would struggle to pronounce/recognize the botanical names for aloe vera or shea butter, but they don’t doubt that those are healthy. So I think it’s just an example of one person starting what appears to be a smart talking point, that is not necessarily based in truth. With your science background, I think the video could at least be worth making to present a fuller view. Thanks love! 💗

Topic suggestion: Having your hair covered with like a head wrap, turban type of covering 24/7.
Hi! Love love love all your videos. I would like to see one on vitamins and if there is any kind on biotin for hair growth.
I would like to see your Winter regimen for keeping the hair moisturized throughout the season and your nightly regimen for prepping your for bed
You do an excellent job. I would like to see how some of the most used produced could damage the hair.
Thank you for sharing! Great topic! ☺️
I would like for you to do more videos on medium porosity hair. I know that your main focus is low porosity, and you cover high porosity a little bit, but I haven’t been able to find too many RUclips influencers who either have medium porosity hair or include that as a topic in their videos.
Noted! Thank you for sharing! :-)
I'd like to know more about interaction of products with grey natural hair.
Great topic, thank you for sharing!
Thanks so much for all the amazing info. Talking more about scalp conditions would be great and how to still grow healthy hair and retain lenght in spite of them. seborrheic dermatitis seems to be a big issue many people face but not talked about so much
thank you I always wanted to know more about Sulfur, as i've been considering adding it back into my regimen. I love your videos
Thanks for the 411! My hair is growing back from chemotherapy, but now I have some thinning. Well my skin and hair went through some changes.
It would be great if you could talk about hair products that will not cause irritation on skin (scalp/face/body). I’ve used many shampoos/conditioners that will make me break out or dry out the skin on my back and shoulders.
Thank you for your content always 🙏
Your channel is a great learning tool for health hair care and it's one of my go to channel. What I want to know more on mature hair care, thinning, crowns and edges, the right diy products that will get faster results. Thank you for wonderful information through the years and keep up the good work.
Tanya, love you, love you, love you. I've learnt soooo much from you. Here's a couple topics I'd like you to discuss: Why hair falls out due to stress and solutions to stop the falling out. Also is there something to prevent or slow down the graying process?
I want to see more videos talking about hair grease, and conditioners that have great ingredients and are affordable. I love ❤️ your channel and Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
Noted! Thank you, and you too! ☺️
I literally have MSM in my Amazon cart right now... perfect timing!!!
I would like to see more about hair coloring or grey hair prevention.
OMG, thank you, thank you, thank you SO MUCH💃💃💃. I LOVE garlic and onions and I didn't know that, so I'm going to include them more often in my diet and increase a little bit the portion😉. Hug you sis, for the all the value information that you gave us. A TON OF BLESSINGS 😊
Do amino acids have sulfur? If so, does the use of products with amino acids help deposit sulfur into the scalp and/or hair?
It depends! As mentioned in the video cystein does, however amino acids like silk for example that are in hair care formulations may not contain it or may not have an efficacious amount to be of any benefit.
@@CurlyChemistry what about keratin?
I use Sulfur 8 light and it cured my scalp eczema. My scalp used to be on 🔥 and now it feels so much better.
Hi Tonya I’d love to know & see what you use on your hair, what is your hair care regimen? I think that would be a great topic, your hair looks beautiful.
Noted! Also thank you so much!! :-)
Just want to say thank you for expanding my knowledge on curly hair but I will like you to do more product reviews curly girl approved hair products. 🤍
Is fenugreek a protein?
@@lesg1721 it is
@cutenobi - I used Camille Rose Algae Renew.
Here are some protein ingredients in hair products:
Hydrolyzed (wheat, oat, soy) protein
Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein
Hydrolyzed keratin
Hydrolyzed collagen
Amino acids (Silk, milk, wheat, etc.)
Cystine Bis-PG-Propyl Silanetriol (Derivative of keratin protein)
Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein PG-Propyl Silanetriol (Silicone modified wheat protein)
Cocodimonium Hydroxypropyl Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein (Quaternized wheat protein)
@Les G - yes, fenugreek has protein.
Hey girl, I love all your content and I have learned a lot from them.
I will like to see content about relaxed hair, the changes to the structure of the hair, and ways to keep it healthy. Thanks.
I want to see your product line lol and just take my money. We want the healthy hair from your products
Happy post Thanksgiving! I used to use Sulfur 8 hair grease. I may have to revisit it. Thanks for sharing!
You’re welcome!
How does it smell
@@francenegayle3866 if your referring to sulfur 8 hair grease, it still stinks 😑. I have the light version in the blue jar and it smells too.
@@francenegayle3866 it’s not a pleasant smell at all. However. It does wear off after a little while. When I used it I would do it at night before bed so the scent would dissipate overnight.
@@marilynmartin3901 I will try that ...as well as add essential oils to it. We will see. I can't take MSM due to headaches
I hope you do not mind me asking this question. Is that a virtual or actual background?
😂 it’s an actual background. ☺️
what wat u use if ur harmones is the reason ur hair has thinned out how can u thicken it up and get it roo grow long again
I would still look into MSM as a supplement to see if that will help with your hair, also working with a trichologist in your area can also confirm and suggest additional options you have as well.
Asparagus? Amazing. As always you are the GOAT. I never knew.
Product Reviews based on their chemistry. Where possible.
More on Ayurvedic treatments both skin and hair.
True or false with respect to efficacy of many DIYs
Please and thank you.
I would like to see more products that have the ingredients you tell us about
What do you think about people who have a sulfur allergy ?
If you’re allergic then definitely avoid these options or talk to your doctor to clarify what is right for you.
Giiiiiirl your hair is looking great !
Thanks Zee! ☺️
Yes it does !!!
@@CurlyChemistry it always looks great!!! Would love for you to do a styling video one of these days 🥰
What products would you suggest if someone is transforming from relaxed hair to natural hair? My questions are Always ignored🤷🏽♀️ But I’ll continue to ask questions and supporting 💯
Thanks for sharing.
Video requests on natural remedies for dry high porosity medium density type 4 hair for mature women going through the change and techniques to best take care of it. And possibly do live Q&A sessions. These are "critical times hard to deal with"(2 Tim 3:1) so any tips/suggestions will be a big help and blessing.
I would like to know how to detoxify my hair and scalp please. I like MSM but it gives me massive headaches. I want to use it topically instead I want to make a serum out of it for my scalp how would I work out how much preservative to put in it and how do I emulsify it with oil (after diluting it in water)? Thanks in advance.
I recently purchase sulfur 8 yesterday going to use it alongside taking MSM powder/Collagen Powder and blue magic, doo gro, and natural essential oils. I take the prescribed iron.
Sulphur is usually in most Nigerian haircare products like Sulphur 8 and Soulmate but once i use it, it’s stuck. I usually have to wash it off or my hair gets dirty, itchy and dry. Probably the mineral oil. I believe i’m low porosity. Can i deep condition with it and rinse out? Im already doing the food part
I’d love to see a product empties, product ingredients breakdowns and products you recommend based on ingredients.
I would like to hear more about auto immune diseases that causes hair loss and also alopecia. What can individuals do to so the process of hair loss or reverse it?
Early ❤️❤️💕✨. Hopefully you had a great thanksgiving ❤️❤️💕💕✨☺️🥰
Thank you so much for the information to help us on our hair journey but I need to know is how to grow your hair after a hysterectomy.
i appreciate how your info is based in science/facts
Is it safe if i mixed Fenugreek powder, rose water, and MSM for like a hair mask. I suffer from iron deficiency anemia.
Q. Are hair gels bad for our hair (Eco Styler gel)? What are some organic gels that will provide super hold for curly hair?
Thank you. Great timing!
Hi CC, you always seem to provide exactly the information I need and at the right time. Maybe a series on certain ingredients or products and how it/they react on different porosity hair, different hair types or color treated and/or relaxed vs natural? Also, it would be great to have a live so we can ask questions. Lastly, maybe offering a class or 20...😂 that would be beneficial to you (monetarily) while providing a great learning opportunity for us.
Win-win。◕‿◕。
I would love for u to talk about the best hair tools for naturals.
Hello Ms. Lane. I love your Curly Chemistry page. You provide so much information; now the only thing I'd want from you is to know how I may get a response to questions I've asked when I was confused by the content regarding two videos. Thanks for your time and always sharing.
Hi. I’m very new to natural hair care. As a cosmetic chemist, I’d like to know the appropriate steps to shampooing, conditioning, hair masques, hot oil treatments, diy treatments. Not too sure which one to do first for better absorption and care for my hair…minus shampooing and conditioning Lol.
Thank you so much for your content, I am so happy I found your channel😁. I would like you to maybe do more content about edges and how to take care of them ❤🌹 Thank you
So glad I found your channel. I want to incorporate sulfur. I'm leaning toward topical treatments. So I'll look into those product recommendations.
I would like to know how medication for high blood pressure affect hair growth and solutions.
Hi! Great videos and tips! I'm experiencing thinning and have high porosity hair. I'm using herbs like cassia and henna. How long does it take to see results for increased thickness? Thanks for all you do!
Thank you for all the information you provide. I would really like more information on permed hair, keeping it healthy.
Are there any side effects to taking the sulfur supplements?
Thanks for all the useful information yoiu have given us so far. It has been so helpful in helping me understand my hair. I would love to see more content on things we can add to our diet that will help with heair growth BUT I love everything you put out so...
Thanks for a great video. Topical sulphur dries out my hair and causes breakage. But the capsules worked great!
Yes! Hormonal thinning
I love watching your channel! My hair grew so much in just these few months from watching you! But can you show more videos on how you maximize your twist and braids out so they last longer than 2 days?
I just saw a video that biotin increases acne and is not really helpful for hair growth. What is your advice on ppl taking vitamins to increase their hair growth? How do they work when it comes to it? I've learned that it extends the growth stage and reduces the resting stage to increase length. Is this true? Thank you so much!
I love how quick and informative this was
Thanks for always giving us your best. I will still buy your guide. I pray for God to bless me financially.
Dear Sharmaine, you are doing great ready. Please can you
1. incorporate how you trim your hair,
2. can you talk more about protein treatment e.g. Olaplex vs Aphogee Two-Step,
3. can you talk about Ceramide, Betaine and
4. please is it a must to use the same brand of shampoo and conditioner? Thanks.
Great questions! Especially the last one. I personally think brands say to use products in the same line to make money but I'd like to see what she says.
Thank you for sharing!! I look forward to discussing those topics. :-)
@@CurlyChemistry Thanks, Darling.💖 from Lagos, Nigeria🤗🤗🤗

👋🏾 I’d like to see vids on how to repair hair (ie: after using a keratin treatment that requires straightening the hair); and how low cal diets affect the quality of hair, how long it takes to see the damage and how long it will take to repair the damage. Thank you!!
What do you think of using Sublime sulfur as per Greenbeauty?
She seem to be very knowledgeable with what she is saying. And as a chemist, I would like to know your thoughts on sublime sulfur. Would you be able to add to what she is saying. Or give some precautions when using it. Anything you share would be appreciated. Thx.
I haven’t watched yet but I’ve been waiting on your take!!! Thanks
