Just a thought, Bruce, you might try it my way. I pour the additive in before adding fuel so it's immediately mixed during refueling. YeahYeahYeah, do that with the Mitsu, too, JIC.

Solid recommendations, also for the lube they removed from our diesel you can replace with bio diesel or any other type of vegetable oil. Also that 7.3 sounds OE fuel system is dead headed and in the cold theres a lot of pressure oscillation occurring making your IPR work overtime. When I created a regulated return my 7.3 ran MUCH better.
Did you do the cross over kit too? It helped a lot with Cackle on #8 cylinder since it had the least amount of pressure from the fuel rail. Hell when I first got my 7.3 I had to take it to the dealer because it sounded like rod knock. They said, nope, thats normal, its just how it sounds. later on I found out its called Cackle and how to fix it.
@@acdiiwhere did you purchase the cross over kit from, if you don't mind me asking. My 7.3 is just about 25yo and just had new hpop, new IPR & ICP, had all o'rings replaced on all 8 injectors, new seal and o'rings on fuel bowl. She's running great but I hear her horror stories about those lines bursting or cracking if you don't get them from the right place. Thanks. Jay.
The Motor Oil Geek will tell you that any Oil Additive is playing Russian Roulette with your oil. With some of the oil manufacturer’s additive packages it works good and others it does the opposite of what’s intended. The Fuel Additives on the other hand are good all the time. Gamble wisely gentlemen, if those words can even be put in the same sentence.
I had a 99 F350 7.3. It was notorious for glow plug relays going bad, and the GP lasted less than 100K before replacing was a must. The stiction is real, but good glow plugs also help in COLD weather. I could tell when the GP needed replacing when it started on 5 cylinders instead of 8. The Archoil you use is overkill for your truck. It contains things to keep the DPF clean, and you dont have one. In fact, other than the detergents to keep the injectors clean, and the anti-gel properties, you don't need most of what it provides for the newer diesels. You can more than likely reduce the amount you use by half or more and get what you need out of it. A full dose is way more than the engine will ever need on that truck.
I don't know if it can fix "bad" injectors or not. I own a 2005 F550 with the 6.0 engine. Just turned 445k. The current set of injectors have over 225k. I have been using the Archoil oil and fuel additive for 15 years. Maybe longer. For me, they work.
Truck is plugged in, but not block heater - just to float charge the batteries. I replaced the batteries 2 years ago, and really found that keeping them on a float charger all the time helps the most!
@@BruceandKristaI just installed a "battery jump point" near the front bumper for the winch... I'm going to start charging it on that! (It has a switch under the hood, No driving with powered leads on bumpers.) I added a couple extra 2/0 "wires" (the size of fingers) between the batteries and to the starter then added a few extra grounds of 1/0. The intent was to keep both batteries more even because I only got 2 years out of the last pair. Now that she's not taking 10 seconds to start everyday maybe the tiny alternator can keep up for a while...
First off, why not do one idea at a time? so were know which had the effects? Also mixture first then fill up, then how would a cold start have either mixture spread thru eng? or the Fuel/ in the lines??:? Seems sketchy to me??
The fuel additive won’t have had any impact to the starting, it hadn’t had enough fuel run through the system yet. I wouldn’t expect to see any impact from that for a few hundred km at least. For the 9100, I guess I should have provided more detail in the video - I changed the oil to fresh oil and put the 9100 in - and drove about 35km. The cold start with the 9100 was the day after that drive. All I can tell you is it blew my mind, I was not expecting that much of an improvement.
I guess I'll be trying it in my 26 year old Dodge Cummins. I've been putting a Quart of the cheapest transmission fluid in with the fuel every time I fill both tanks. (136 US gallons) I've been doing that since I bought it.
Yes amsoil is great. I use 10-30 signature all year . additive package is so good I'm reluctant to put archoil in. When I used cheap Canadian Tire oil I was having stiction issues so I tried archoil and it worked. Just by good oil in my opinion 😊

Yep, will on the next tank!
Totally agree! Any left over in the pipe running to the tank gets flushed down, so no waste.

I’ve had some veggie from time to time, but at these temps it tends to gel.

@@silvergrizzly316 That was about 20 years ago. IIRC it was Dieselsite? They have the HX mod line in stock for the 99-03 engines.
Ok , order in. If it works in my old dodge I'll use it in my class A with the newly rebuilt & hotrodded 12 valve too!
I can only imagine it will improve things!
These products only really do anything with hpop operated diesels like early 2000 powerstroke and cat engines. Wont do much for a 12 valve
I have 6.0 and always put it in every oil change. I lost injectors at least one a year until I started using this.
Good to know! thanks!
Same here

I'd be interested in how a lubricant additive such as this can take away from the effect of the oil?

Good call, I haven’t checked my glow plugs - I know at least some of them are working - but that doesn’t mean they are all working.
So... A bottle in my DT466 is enough? Good. Because that's all I'm willing to put into it. 😂 Pfft. $300 DIY oil change is bad enough.

How long did you have to run the truck before you did the test?
I drove 35 km the day I did the oil change and put the Archoil in, the video was a cold start the next morning.
Do you plug your truck in at night? I love Archoil

New glow plugs would Help!
If they are faulty yes
What brand and weight of oil are you using?
Valvoline non synthetic 15-40 or 5-30 when it’s cold.
Bfd, after it's been running once it had better start easier
That hasn’t been the case for the last 10 years, it was a hard start cold or hot.
Are you putting the AR9100 oil additive in the Mitz? or just the fuel additive?
I’ll be putting both in for sure!!
