Growing up in a country road having to walk down the neighborhood to the bus stop. There was pit bulls and giant mutts but not a single one would leave their yards but when I tell you I was chased down the street by a rooster. They really don’t care

This is absolutely insane. The chicken was in the man’s yard. The owner should have had his chickens contained. If a dog came into your yard and attacked it would be the owners fault, same concept. The owner should be held accountable and sued for all legal fees. The owner was irresponsible and should have the charges filed on him for neglect.
Roosters are meaner than dogs too. I have one that goes after my kids every time they go out. This is ridiculous.

The absolute f-ing stupidity of that being a felony can't possibly better sum up the kind of idiotic society we have created. I lived on a farm with chickens. Had a rooster that would come out and attack my mom because she would run from it then it started charging at everyone that came into the yard and trying to claw them. The damn thing clawed her up real nice once and I decided that was the end of it. Next time I brought out a 2x4 and when it jumped up to attack I hit a damn home-run. It managed to live through it (I could have cared less if it did), and it never came charging out at people again. Applying these laws to things that are attacking people is so stupid I can't even process the level of dumb required to support it.
I'm with you brother the level of dumb we've created in some areas of our society severely needs to be rectified. I'm not saying in every case but also in a lot of these cases there needs to be more consideration to other factors. Not just well this is what the book says so throw it at him?

We had a rooster try to take out my daughter’s eye once when she was 2, some breeds are extremely aggressive! (We had fried chicken the next day)

She thought he was dead until one of her pigs walked by and that feathered demon jumped up and came back to life. You can't even turn your back around him because he will come after you immediately. Roosters have large spurs; on the back of their legs. If a spur goes deep enough into an artery or vein; it becomes a serious bleeding problem. Also, chickens constantly step in their own feces. If scratched by a chicken; you can catch a disease. The man had every right; to defend his health.
