i actually found your channel a couple days ago from googling if its a better idea to release a song at the end of the year or the beginning of the year! i was searching that since this song will be my first release. but i decided i will upload it even though its close to the holidays because i want at least one song out in 2022, and i want to start fresh and work on new stuff throughout the end of this year and the beginning of 2023. the song will be out on 12/22/2022. also, great channel!

Im releasing 6 songs this year. Tiktok is my only real promo option along with reels and shorts. I sacrificed the first song just to set up my artist profiles and experiment with making content and i guess my plan is to just get better with time.
Do I need to do anything special before releasing the music? Or should I just go for it?

I'm in the Christian Hip Hop genre and there's such a small audience for that genre. Not familiar with marketing and I was on a study overload (analysis paralysis). I released my 1st song last year on RUclips channel but it will be officially distributed January 3rd, 2023

Playing live is great fun, and the reward is immediate, whether it be an audience response, or, if the audience is not responding, the comradery that comes of performing with fellow musicians when it's a difficult gig. I have taken time away from live performance to focus my time on recording music for release, and, using the project name Fatt Carat, I am planning to release a number of songs over the course of 2023. It's a now or never thing, really. Or at least, soon! Thank you for your videos and I am enjoying reading the comments of others that are at the start of their recording and releasing adventures.

I am a hip hop artist producer from Long Island NY. #WHY I have been producing and writing hip hop and R&B songs since 1992. I walked away from music in 2014 but I never stop producing and writing. In 2019 My son started planning his first fashion film and I refused to hire someone to do renditions and remixes I can do myself. Then last year I started playing around and writing. Long story short Golden Era Hip Hop and Lofi hip hop production is in high demand and I have over 300 songs instrumentals and beats recorded. That's why the time is now. I am self published and own 200% of all my music ad all masters. I am releasing several projects next quarter and this will be my first digital release. My main genre in Hip Hop/ Rap and R&B. I would like to know if you had all your songs ( 19) on Spotify now and they all under a 1000 streams is it best to take them all off and release them as singles . Change the ISRC nos and even the name so that I take advantage of the Spotify Pitch. Would that work ? Then release the best single first. Thanks

#WHY Its taking me this long because I lost confidence and still do on creating music and now that I have a lot of music done, I was too, i guess, shy putting the music out. Weird but it is how I felt. I just want to be able to the get the songs heard by the masses but I am not prone to the heavy social media life. Social media causes me too much anxiety but I have such great music to share, so where's the middle?

bro i appreciate your channel, but you made alll of these seem way easier then they are lol. Just get a big name producer towork for you? Thats literally so expensive, and i dont know what artist over 30k subs is going to only charge a couple hundred for a feature.
You'd be surprised how cheap you can get a feature, also don't forget about negotiating publishing and master :) Who says you need a BIG name producer you need someone is crushing it but hasn't popped yet

Promotion works pretty good so far but I have only done it seriously for about 2-3 months. I have had a few tracks on Spotify now with 10k - 15k streams. Before that I had almost Zero. They also get a tail of (smaller) streams after my paid promotion ends, and one track even got a small discover weekly push! This is facebook/instagram ads. Its expensive for sure, but thats what a day-job is for. Investment in an asset that I own. Lets see in a few years where we go.
