@@DamianKeyes honestly going live every night this past month has done more for me than making content for a year! I’ve finally found something that works for me
How has it gone in the past year? When you made the I think 60 second required Tik Tok video did you have to do a comical take as it seems you must in order to get attention? I mean do a crazy dance as you sing etc or can you just simply sing? I don't have a band, just myself and guitar and sometimes harmonica too, and piano. I just went to your channel and can't find any of your songs but a lot of vocal training videos. You aren't really a songwriter and performing original songs so the Tik Tok video you created was to attract people into your baritone vocalist lessons? How have Damian's techniques worked for you?
This video has come at just the right time for me. My mindset has finally shifted to where I really am starting to believe in myself, and I’m creating a narrative of what I stand for to share with the world through my music and art. Thank you!
I'm so grateful to have you with me on this journey. Your content and support drives me to continue even on the dark days. Thank you for breaking down these ideas! 🙏
Greta job man, breaking down the process here. Sooo many people have no idea how to do this, and its VERY important now in the post-record label age. Labels did everything for us before, (unfortunately,) and now we need t learn to do it all ourselves. Production no longer costs a ridiculous amount, advertisement doesn't either, booking isn't very hard either. But if you have no clue how to even start, then you will never get there. I really feel like most people just need a starting point and a tiny bit of guidance, just to get them running in the right direction, then If they're dedicated they'll run it the rest of the way. For years I've been looking for the insight that's in this channel, so really, thanks dude you're a credit to the industry!
i actually followed your 22 days plan for my last release and man i went on local tv, national radio and many playlists on spotify and i just want to say thank your for dropping the best information possible and yes i also unfollowed all the other people who tells you strategies that hardy ever work !
Genuine questions: How many copies of your release have you sold to date? If you graph your sales per day, what curve does the graph plot? What is the nett profit on your total sales to date i.e. total sales minus sales, distribution, marketing, production and living expenses?
The covers part is true!! I covered a song by Lana Del Rey last year that has millions of streams across platforms and recently covered another one of her songs and have amassed almost 300k streams in two months alone. Covers are your friend!
I'm really grateful for your ideas... Content creation for me is just singing and playing my bass ... I really really wish I was this creative in making content ... I'm way too much invested in producing and recording songs but creating content I need to take this step by step because I know I won't be consistent
A Personal Tip. Draw a physical diagram of your Audience Funnel. (Or his box example) Write each user's @ and categorize them based on their level of engagement etc
WADAFAK MAN, you just organized all things Ive been thinking about music marketing. People love to spend thousands in ads for their clips, but I knew it had to be like this. Thank you A LOT.
Gracias Damian! 🇨🇱🌎🎵
We are living in a very strange times for artists ! I myself am a musician (classical) and a composer ! I’m definitely going to try this ! I do think though that people now a days see (as you say) so much content in a day … I think at the end of the day they don’t even remember what they’ve seen ! As evil as the music industry has been throughout the years and we all know by now , they had a structure of how to get out to the public with the ‘actual big artists’ from the past as we know them ! I think those days are over of that kind of stardom… maybe I’m wrong but… time will tell…
I am getting back after a long hiatus - around 100 million plays of a song of mine under my belt, but in some ways I am like a newbie. Now I am going to watch all your videos, go through a couple of cycles and then I'd love to hire you for a consult:)
I’ve just done my day 1 of this strategy, positing a mini music video as my first RUclips short! 😬 I’m a brand new indie artist with my debut single set for release on 16th Feb, so I’m going to follow this plan alongside the 23 day release plan, and see what sort of engagement I can get starting from scratch! Wish me luck!
Hey Damian, I've been struggling with this question: what if you're not sure of the quality of your music, would you still say that following a plan like this could be beneficial? I guess it does give you feedback on the music and it's still putting yourself out there, just kinda scared of embarrassing myself you know.
Thanks for sharing this golden info man, I've been spending years honing my craft and neglecting a good marketing plan for my music, gonna be binging these videos and taking notes! Cheers!
Thanks Damien, truly inspirational. I've been telling my housemates. We are all particularly inspired by the way your shirt is unbuttoned to perfectly reveal the dazzling blue pendant on your necklace. Gently resting above your beating heart. Mine beats for you
Hi! Thank you so much for giving such valuable information, it helps a lot!! Just have one question, shld i do this pre-release or post-release of a new single?
What will be extra challenging would be doing this while wearing a brown bag on your head. You know... Being anonymous while trying to build a fan base.

Have you got any suggestions for electronic music artists? It is a bit more difficult to make visually interesting content when you aren't a singer songwriter.
Remember that episode of Black Mirror where they live in a kind of Pop Idol - based universe and the guy who threatens to kill himself ends up using that once genuine sentiment as a kind of brand? Isn't it just like that sometimes
I'm a techno artist, therefore I find it hard coming up with ideas for short music videos. There's no lyrics I can sing to and I don't want to just dance. Should i make a video of me playing a MIDI controller? But that seems boring and there would be no cameramovement
i saw a lot of lofi beatmakers or just instrumentalist, they do it like that, with nodding or face epressions (or if they had pets, they dance with them and this is cute tho but if its suits your brand etc.) i think this is okay.
Thanks for the awesome video! Is this plan mostly just recommended for implementation on tik Tok? And/or for example maybe a new artist has a FB, IG and tik tok - is this plan just meant to be used via one social media artist profile page (eg only tik tok) or should the same daily content be getting posted to multiple different social media artist profiles/pages (eg post the same exact daily content to tik tok, IG and FB) or something in between, like doing daily tik tok posts but maybe every other day or so on the other social media platforms? If that question might make any sense haha
I’m definitely trying this when I’ve finished school but what would you recommend for a band? Should I as the singer and guitarist do the covers and acoustic version? Also, should the mini music videos be of different songs or the same one?
I'm planning on my August content and I'm using this as a guide. While I love covers and completely understand your strategy for including them, what's to be done about copyright strikes on RUclips??

I would think of creative ideas like mixing two songs that wouldn’t normally work together etc… go for stuff that people would recognise and be surprised by
@@DamianKeyes I agree. I watch so many DJs on TT and YT, and there's nothing more boring than watching a DJ work 🤣. I've purchased a graphics visual program with over 9800 videos that I can program to the BPM. I think these visuals intercut with me give the viewer another level. Over a 1 hour mix it's gotta be better than watching a DJ mix?!
Does this work for 62 year old dudes? I have over 100 you tube videos and 50 original tunes, mostly instrumentals posted. I had a couple vocal numbers, but they never caught on, so I don't generally push them. I had a few "hits" 10 years ago and have 1800+ subscribers, but almost 0 engagement. I've been positing a a lot of shorts lately, and got some good response initially, with 30 new subs, but very few follow through and 0 comments. I was getting average 200 to 300 views per short, but I tried an experiment where I posted four in a row, 1 hour apart, and the first two did over 300, then video three and four dropped to less than 40 views. Ever since then, I get average of 50 views per short. I feel like youtube changed the algorithm, or purposely trying to discourage me from releasing new videos.
Hey Stevero, Great to hear from you. The algorithm is trying to serve up the most clickable content so thumbnails and titles have become more important as the likes of Mr Beast etc push people towards even heavier sensationalism so my suggestion is work on TikTok and RUclips thumbnails and create origami ideas to bring people in before they see you and your music 😊😊
@@DamianKeyes Thanks for your advice. I understand what they want, and I actually did "improve" some numbers on later videos, with a higher click rate then previous videos, but less feed, and therefore, less views, so I feel they must be shooting for extreme click rates. The best click rate I got was 45% with 1400 views, but later vids with a similar click rate get largely ignored. The risk is a sensational thumb that doesn't match the content gets large dislike and short play time. I do have a cover on a Pink Floyd song, and it does get more attention, so definitely agree that covers do help.
I am by myself as an artist for the first time basically ever, and social media sounds a lot more daunting. is it ok to have a name/brand as an individual rather than being in a band?
It’s not easy for sure! I started on RUclips at 40 and everyone laughed at me for doing it. Negative reactions are sadly a part of human nature, all you can hope is that the positive outweighs the negative! Anyone doing anything right gets negativity and you do get used to it :) Start by just creating, don’t give yourself the pressure of posting, just create and get better initially 😊😊
Going live on TikTok has changed the game for me. First time I’m actually feeling like I’m building a community and super engaged fans.
Love that. Going live is an easy way to get the algorithm on your side too :)

Does the repost not get penalized for duplicate content? Are you supposed to change anything or refilm it? Appreciate you putting this out!
Just repost the videos that had the best engagement now and then, sparingly
I am by myself as an artist for the first time basically ever, and social media sounds a lot more daunting. is it ok to have a name/brand as an individual rather than being in a band?
Yeah totally! As long as it makes sense :)
Hey Damo, what if I feel too insecure to post these videos? Or nervous that people will react negatively?
It’s not easy for sure! I started on RUclips at 40 and everyone laughed at me for doing it. Negative reactions are sadly a part of human nature, all you can hope is that the positive outweighs the negative!
Anyone doing anything right gets negativity and you do get used to it :)
Start by just creating, don’t give yourself the pressure of posting, just create and get better initially 😊😊
@@DamianKeyes Thank you! Love your content
So do we use all of these or try to see which one of these work best for us?
Uau from 🇧🇷 I’ll try since today!
Such valuable information it's almost criminal how accessible and well-branded you and your team are Damian! 🔥
