    This is quite a helpful video, thank you. I saw on Instagram a while back that you were focusing on shorter songs and I have implemented that into my writing process. I have definitely been the writer over the years that’s like “this song has to be 5 minutes long”…without any real metric for why it needed to be that way, and often times has multiple sections repeated. A song doesn’t need to be any certain length; if it’s a minute long, cool - if it’s 5 minutes long, cool. As long as I can appropriately convey what I want to say musically, then it’s all good. But I am leaning toward shorter songs overall.

  • @tokyogamer5825

    I see your monthly listeners have crossed 700,000, and your artist popularity index is at 50%, which is fantastic. Typically, artists with a popularity index of around 45% can make it onto editorial playlists. However, I noticed you haven't been featured on any Spotify editorial playlists. This is a bit puzzling, considering your talent and the quality of your music. You deserve that extra push more than many others. I am really curious as to why they havent put you on editorial!

    • @BeautifulBeats99
      @BeautifulBeats99  Год назад +5

      I’ve actually heard mixed reviews about being on editorials. A lot of times editorials just get random passive listeners and not organic fans but idk. Also you may be on it for like a week and then off it after that and it hurts the performance of the song. I’m not too worried about it honestly.

    • @BeautifulBeats99
      @BeautifulBeats99  Год назад +5

      Would rather see consistent growth

    • @tokyogamer5825
      @tokyogamer5825 Год назад +3

      I completely understand your perspective, and if you tailor your pitch to your specific genre, editorial support can significantly enhance your "Fans Also Like" recommendations. This improvement arises from their access to better listening habit data, even if your save and follow rates may not be exceptionally high. It could be more about how artists are engaging with your music.
      Streams from editorial are not important in your case; it's more about spotify editorial evaluating your track's performance and placing it on more prominent "Algotorial" and "personalized editorial playlists." This approach can lead to substantial growth in your Spotify followers, potentially reaching millions of monthly streams without having to rely on FB Ads too much since you would have an extremely high follower count [Typically 10% followers listen on release radar first 28 days so if you had 100,000 followers that would be a great advantage on every release day to get your song above 30% PPI quickly]. You've got all the elements in place to aim for editorial features and the potential to double your income. I'm genuinely puzzled as to why Spotify hasn't featured your music yet, given your high index, but I'm not implying any wrongdoing.
      One possible factor to consider is the fan conversion rate, which can be a bit challenging, especially for producers. Have you been actively pitching your songs to the editorial team? If you specify the playlist you'd like to target in your pitch, I'm confident it can boost your chances of getting featured. I used to think that Facebook ads might not be the best data for Spotify editorial pitches, but I'm reconsidering that view, given the success I've witnessed. @@BeautifulBeats99

      @@MyshkoMusic True, but it also raises the question. In one week, can a person make impactful music? Thoughtful music? Can it make the listener feel something, and delve into a niche sound? 99.9% of the time, no. In a week, they will be focused on churning out quantity over quality. I reckon once a month is a better strategy.

    • @MyshkoMusic
      @MyshkoMusic Год назад

      @@Josh-zr9by Yeah I guess releasing once a month would work better for many people. Maybe myself included even lol.
      I often have periods where I can't come up with anything I like no matter how much I try. I usually have to take a break to regain inspiration. As Beautiful Beats said, don't force yourself to release if you feel the quality isn't there
      But then again, the amount of time you spend on a project shouldn't be an indicator of how good it is. To this day, my favorite track I've ever released was one that I finished making in 2 days. And I have projects I've worked on for literal MONTHS just to end up HATING them.

  • @ashrogersmusic
    @ashrogersmusic Год назад +9

    Thanks for the content bro, very nice. Personally, I think releasing a song a week is a bit much but I do understand the concept behind it. I think per month is more realistic as it gives you time to promote the song properly. I managed an artist in NZ and we got a number 1 song through a combination of things, including some of the things you mention in this video. However, I would say that there is no perfect marketing plan as it depends on so many external factors. My suggestion to anyone reading this is to try a variety of tactics and see which combination works for your music.

    I think some artists currently underestimate the value of a full album over a single. The cover art is like real estate.
    One square image represents only one song, the other square image represents and brings new listeners to 10 - 20 songs.

    • @YurbaMate
      @YurbaMate 15 дней назад

      The thing is - especially for unknown indie artists - barely anyone will use they time to FULLY listen your song. And absolutely no one will find ~45 minutes to listen to your whole album. You add a song, promote it and people click on it AND ONLY ON THIS ONE PARTICULAR song. This is very frustrating when you want to share few original tracks you've spent TONS of hours on to polish (as an amateur) and they get lost because everyone just listen to the song you've made video to. So I guess, releasing just a single and focusing audience's attention on just a single thing seems to be the only valid option if you're not super famous or don't have infinite budget for promotion. I'm a dreamer and I wanted to make my own album, but now when it's out, I guess I'll stick to singles only.

A lot of the points made in this video such as releasing a track every Friday or only making short songs seem to take a coldly analytical approach to creation. This tactic may very well deliver streaming numbers but as artists/musicians, the most important thing should be to make art that you truly believe in and love.

Your statement is far from the truth if you do it the right way. You should be able to be yourself and not do things out of your charecter just for promotion.

    This kind of mindset often makes a "Recycled Sound" like the same songs and dropping every week.... BUT This mindset is " Necessary " For the team and we as individuals need to find a balance between the focusing on the business and focusing on the soul of your music

    Mate, how much did you spend to get 500k? As it looks is half dropped since posted this video, so honestly I went through all of these and the conclusion is one, if you want to perform well on Spotify pr any other platforms there is 2 options: doing gigs or signing a label that owns a portion from Spotify.

    very clever way of building traffic and feeding the recommendation algorithm accurate data - people have heard a snippet and interacted with the link so they're less likely to listen partly, especially if you yend to make your songs shorter

    I like this guy. I been around music industry a minute. And your frame of mind is winner. I like your take on producer artist relationship. You don't hear that much from producers. I think most just wanna break upcoming artist pockets for just a beat. No promo etc.

    Awesome video and very inspiring. I have over 900 recorded personal songs which I free style mostly. I have never wrote lyrics down only recorded during my free styling. Listening to instrumental rap beats, country beats, and my personal favorite is free styling to instrumental violin hip hop beats over Spotify and RUclips. Always in search of free styling to copy write free instrumental beats. Never releasing one single song which I put all my heart and soul into each lyric my mind produces. Someone who has the blessing of being a great all around athlete. No matter what sport they are playing, the person just shines without even realizing how talented they are. Same exact concept goes for great, talented musicians. You either have it in you or you don’t. A hidden champion who can create a killer song by listening to any random instrumental beat is the same as the best all around athlete. When I am free styling to country, rock, rap, hip pop instrumental beats, I find my true power inside, while my passion takes over and my mind opens up to the unimaginable possibilities. It’s extremely hard to explain this correctly. I never listen to the radio. I only listen to my own songs and free styles I recorded along with random instrumental beats. MY personal hidden talent i discovered at the age of 12yo, never telling a single soul until today. Being nervous that all my music and lyrics will be stolen the second I release one of my free styles. But I am at a point that if any artist wants to take my lyrics that means I am doing something right. Thank you for inspiring me today. I will potentially start sharing over 900 of my recordings. “A hidden talent should never be hidden” “Robert Feifer” This is my advice to anyone who has a serious hidden talent in anything. Never hold onto it alone. This has nothing to do with making money with your talents. This has to only do with sharing our true love and passion with the world around us hoping to inspire other’s along my journey. #Beautiful Beats, You are a Champion! I am only here to inspire, admire, help, guide and learn new information each day I have another opportunity to see the light. Thank You for your time reading this.

    very well explained and straight to the point. as a question, how much time do you put into the production of a song. over my last 12 released songs I took a little excel to check my "production costs/time" and was on average writing, recording, producing, mixing, mastering for roughly 80h per track. There is no way I can do more than one track a month (and this is already tough) with a job and family, playing and rehersing for life shows. Okay, these are 3 min. songs so I'd assume 1min. songs could be done much faster but still, would be 20h. but most of my songs would lack significantly if there is no resolution to the story, after all it is singer/songwriter music which has a story arch. i can cut the guitar solos ;)
    saying that, I am playing with the thought putting out simpler produced acoustic versions of my songs (there is enough material for years, maybe not all great but enough good songs) and put them out, which could increase my outup. however, these would sound probably completely different to my produced stuff.

    The one thing that is the hardest for me is "sticking with my niche"
    When I record, I don't think about what genre I'm making, I just start doing stuff.
    If I do everything else EXCEPT for that, do you think I could still find success in growing on Spotify?

    My biggest wooooo here was releasing something every Friday. 50 songs a year is a ton so I see how the numbers could sky rocket if you're also doing ads and promotion along with those releases.

    Well, I learned something for sure. I released some EDM songs and they had a few plays, but I got busy with life work and forgot to release more on Spotify. Now I have 40+ songs to release now and inadvertently picked Friday to release, didn't know "It was a good day",I also make good Jazz fusion music as well and was thinking about releasing it as well, but it sounds like that might be counter productive. Thank you for the advice.

    I release Lofi / Chillhop beats. I would agree that dropping weekly or biweekly is important, but I have found that for this niche playlists are king.
    Do you have any thoughts about content or ads for just beats that is better than just another one of those beat videos?

    8:00 thats the only point l dont agree. I think it depends on your music and what kind of people you want to listen to your songs. I looked into my favourite songs and nearly all my favourite Songs ar atleast 3:30.
    (My favourite 3 songs are 4:33, 6:03, 3:46)
    I think it limits you in the art you do if you look at the duration. You do the song and release it if you find it great.
    Yea if you just want spotify clicks people obvisouly listen more often if the song is shorter.
    But to build a fanbase for fans who support you, come to your concerts, buy your album it doesnt matter.
    Overall the video was really great, some good tips! :)
