Since this channel launched I leave a place holder in my menu planning for whatever Andrew show us on Sunday. Folks, you just watched what we're having for dinner next Saturday.
Share what ingredients and/or home remedies you have for boosting immunity during the winter! I make this cayenne, turmeric, ginger, lemon tea that’s amazing for getting rid of mucus but the taste… I don’t wanna talk about 😂
Whenever I feel something's might coming (which happens rarely though), I take my capsules that contain horse radish, nasturtium and camu camu. And I have a dozen of different teas for all kinds of symptoms, LOL. It seems to work since I haven't been sick in years (and no, Covid still didn't catch me 🤞🏻). But a healthy diet is definitely the most important factor, IMO. I also supplement certain nutrients (like vit D3 or B12).
I make what herbalist call fire water/tonic.. Its something I take all year around. Also, take local honey and add fresh garlic I mean a whole lot minced up and add to honey allow the two to fermentation in a cool n dark place for weeks and then take one full tablespoon daily.
Have you ever cooked the leaves from the cauliflower? They are SO delicious! I always look for heads with the biggest leaves so I can cook them, same for leaves on Brussel sprout stalks!
I recently stumbled on your channel and my interest is growing. I’m 40 years old and decades of not eating healthy is caught up with me. My body/joints hurt all the time and I feel like I’m 70. I’m hoping with this channel and others like it I can turn things around. It’s not easy
Made this tonight for my family of 5. Spicy, but in a warming way, very flavorful, I love the roasted veggies for a topper. Soup usually leaves something to be desired for me, so I left it alone with the very thick bisque consistency. Coupled with some freshly baked sourdough we made today, this was a nice hearty meal. We ate like kings and queens.
This is the most incredible cooking storytelling I’ve ever come across. Like I’m so intrigued like I’m watching a Netflix series. you have been giving me so many reasons to get healthy and I’m gonna tell you your videos have helped me lose 15 pounds within the last month. Thank you so much.
A couple of nights ago, I couldn't sleep and I stumbled upon you and your BRILLIANTLY produced video(s) and I am now a devoted fan. Your videography is STUNNING and your follow along is perfect as a teaching tool. Thank you Andrew for showing up and for being amazing. I own The Cooking Schools in Atlanta and we would love for you to come guest teach should that opportunity ever work for you.
I am raising young men of color who grew up in the kitchen cooking and baking with me. I love cooking shows and tutorials and I always brought them into my world. But it was hard finding representation that clicked with them. You are fantastic and I am excited to try out your recipes and have conversations about any story you tell surrounding a recipe. Your show is as aesthetically pleasing as it easy to follow. I don’t need a lot of chatter when I am following a recipe and I love presentation, through out the whole process ESPECIALLY if I am sharing with friends, encouraging them to try…..I love enticing people, and I love to be enticed. As soon as I return home, I will be making this beautiful dish.
Why did you say men of colour? 😂 why not say men? im white and hate when other white people go out of their way to let black men/women know they have a black friend, or black doctor etc. Its abit cringe. This constant need for validation is a little sad. 😂
People, especially white people, should allow anyone to speak and use the verbiage their children use themselves. Turn your nobleness and your and righteous into an act of humbleness and understand that you have no idea how this message was delivered. I know it is easy to assume but this was just a post about a mother celebrating someone her children are excited to watch. To use words like, “I hate”… When my post was nothing more than love for a video that I watched. Peace and light to the both of you. We are all connected at the end of the day 😊
@@anniesmith4186 Lets not try to make yourself look like mother theresa. It is very clear from your comment how it was intended. 🤣 There was ZERO need to invite colour in to it.
@@natasha9771 I love this conversation because it is so important! Thank you! You were joining a, for lack of a better word, conversation between me, and the author of the video, who is a man of color. This video in itself has several different aspects that I could comment on, including the recipe, cinematography, the story behind the recipe… but I, the author of the comment to the creator of the video, wanted to share with him… as we do, when we leave comments for people and their videos…another exciting aspect of what he was doing, and remember this was a comment left directly for him….was providing content that my children enjoyed while also enjoying the commonality and representation of the man in the video. I wholeheartedly agree that we don’t need to constantly address people by the color of their skin. We shall, however, celebrate what makes us different while, enjoy what we have in common all while understanding that the core of us is ONE! :-)
Wow. Yes. THIS! And yes, when I got back home I did make the sweet potato black bean stew. I added baby spinach and the juice of a small lime. It was amazing and everyone loved it. Update: Immediately went to the kitchen and made this soup exactly like you did and the fam raved. I'm so glad you post here on RUclips! Thank you!
🧡 I wanted to edit and let everyone know I just made it and it is a huge hit!! So tastey, warming and grounding for a beautiful evening meal or if your weather is cold this is bang on!!! Thank you, for taking the extra time to make quaity foods.
Just made this and it was delicious! I followed the recipe exactly as is. The soup was bold, flavorful, with a bit of heat, and honestly just really really good. Haha. The roasted veggies as a “garnish” was a nice touch too. 👌🏽 For the all purpose seasoning I used adobo that is very popular in our Puerto Rican cuisine and I loved it.
The most delicious soup I have ever made..! Just the right amount of heat and the combo of blended soup and roasted veggies was like nothing I have ever had before.. SO delicious! Thank you!!
I made this last night for lunch this week, and my word, this is the best soup I've ever tasted. Usually, when I make a recipe, I'll make a note to add this and that the next time, but this recipe is a masterpiece. I literally told people radomly that I made the best soup ever last night! I'm not vegan, but I want to incorporate a few diary / meat free meals into my diet for health reasons and look forward to attempting a few of your other recipes.
Your recipes are so abundant I actually didn't realize this was a 'dairy free' channel. How cool! I've been struggling with the idea that dairy hasn't been working for me, and it has been quite difficult to quit cheese. Nearly every recipe that came my way yesterday included a quart of cream AND cheese... Then I found your coconut milk rice recipe. So hearty and delicious! I'm obsessed with your channel now. Thanks for keeping it healthy but PACKED with flavor. This is what we need!
Thank you for sharing your extreme “foodie-ism” and nutritional wisdom! This channel inspires me to be more creatively engaged in my own tiny kitchen. Blessed be.
My favorite time of the year is winter as to me that is because of soup!!...I am with your Mom in the sense that soup is a feeling...a warm, wrapped in an old flannel shirt and sweats kind of feeling!! When I saw you add Cauliflower I was so surprised!! Last year I was going to make a Cream of Cauliflower Soup but after baking the Cauliflower in the oven, I ate too much of the Cauliflower and I couldn't make my soup!! I'm now on a Butter Nut Squash (tossed in EVOO and baked in the oven) binge and after baking it it comes out so sweet and flavorful!! But this recipe looks sooo special...I have everything except the Red Curry so will try the tomatoe paste option with red pepper flakes....I can already feel the warmth of this soup!! Hope you all are doing well!! Thank you for a great recipe!!
Hi Andrew! I just wanted you to know that since I started watching your videos, my entire menu has changed radically. you made me see more simplicity in vegan food, and I feel like I'm eating much better now. I don't have enough words to thank you.
Made this recipe this evening for myself and my partner and we both loved it so much. Its delicious! Modified the all purpose spice but just looked up what that typically contains anyway and made it ourselves. Honestly, its amazing because i dont eat yams, chickpeas, or cauliflower ever but i can and will with this dish. Thank you!
Can't wait to try this 😋 I would have peeled the sweet potato thicker, then roasted the peel with the cauliflower leaves, with lots of garlic and spices, yum! I don't waste anything, so if I'm making a recipe where I'm not going to use the peel, I'll do the above, you can do it with most veg peel 🙂
I’m not one to comment but hey I’m Jamaican and I grew up in a home that you just have to know how to cook by a certain age (11/12 thereabout) so I’ve been cooking good food for a while now being that I’m 24 and honestly THIS right here deserve all the ratings! Big up yourself Mr Man! Love this dish
Another winner! Thanks for the red curry paste recipe and roasting veggie leftover tips. I also save veggie leftovers/scraps in a container in the freezer and later boil then strain and freeze to be used on demand as vegetable broth.
Made this with ingredients on hand. Subbed yellow curry paste for red snd coconut cream for cashews (daughter allergic to tree nuts). Absolutely delicious!
You are such an inspiration for my cooking, Andrew! Your soulfulness and love for what Mother Earth gives us, is uplifting! Everything I cook after watching you turns to gold! I am so grateful, thank you!
I just made this tonight and it was delicious! I maybe ate a cup and a half and it was so filling. I was happy to have some for the next day. Also, my whole family liked it and they’re all battling the cold/flu right now so I really appreciated this find!
😊I love your idea with the roasted veggies. Will definitely try this. The only thing I would change is to use self made veggie stock. So easy. Celery root, onion, leek, carrot, cut, sautee with olive oil, fill with water, simmer 20 min, put through sieve. Done. And soo much better than the stuff you can purchase.
Made this today and it was divine! Velvet smooth texture and so tasty. The roasted veggie topping gave the perfect crunch. One bowl was surprisingly filling! Adding to my winter soup rotation.
After three weeks of daily intending to make this (I blame my post-covid low energy) I finally did! It's superb. I skipped the nutmeg and reduced the cinnamon. I find I don't like savory cinnamon very much. I added a touch of sweetener too. And a half potato and half a yellow pepper that were both "on the verge", and some oat milk at the very end to thin a bit. The flavor is savory and kind of unexpected. Genius!
I made this recipe today only I garnished with pumpkin seeds. It was absolutely delicious...so creamy and flavorful. I will be watching more of your videos! Thank you!
Wow! I am so glad I stumbled upon this video! I have a ton of food allergies, tomatoes being one of them. This is a recipe I can make and eat; I could almost smell the fragrance of this soup while watching you make it. Thank you for sharing!
I'm watching your channel from Germany and I love the recipes: healthy and super tasty! I went vegan in 2000 and cook almost every day for my family but still am thankful for inspiration such as yours. 🙏
First, I love the way you cook the food THEN talk about it. Second, this recipe looks wonderful and I will definitely give it a try. My husband is a hard core vegan, and I'm kind of a hybrid (I eat fish and poultry). I also love the Vegan Sweet Potato Stew recipe on your website. Thanks for all of this.
Artistic flair in cooking video is visually a whole lot like " curling" ( the sport) with your bowls...a pleasure to watch. You've completely changed my perspective on eating healthy. soooo yummy
Made this soup tonight and it is superb. The vegetable topping and the creaminess from the cashews elevated the flavour. Thank you for this vibrant and healthy dish 🙏🏼
I saw this and made it the next day! Yummy! It is so delicious and decadent! I was a vegan 6 years ago and slowly slowly added fish diary, poultry and last weekend I ate a hamburger and French fries and felt like crap! So I am back to my vegan, gluten free, egg free ways. This helps because when I was dairy free and grain free and I switched to vegan, but I needed to add grains because I was so hungry not having any meat, but this is filling and satisfying!
This was so peaceful to watch. I love soup and need for anti flammatoy recipes. I love that you bowl your veggie scraps. I boil them to make awesome veggie broth and then compost them.
Always good to learn some new ways to use a veggie. You never know what's gonna look good at the grocery store till you see it. Eggplant for example. Scares a lot of new cooks but it's super versatile.
I really love reserving part of the veggies and roasting them and using them as a topping. Absolutely brilliant way to add some next textural variety to your soup. Definitely stealing that.
I made this soup for dinner a couple nights ago and it was the bomb! So easy to make and was delicious. I will definitely be making it again. Thx for sharing Andrew!!
This reminds me of japanese cooking channels. No talking, no bullsh, just sound of food cooked, just view of how should it look on each stage. I like this.
Shout outs to you my beautiful brother! Just started my cooking journey, and learning so much. This video inspired my soup choice today and it came out banging! Best I my must say! Stay blessed! And thank you for the great content! Stay blessed
O M G! HELP ME PLEASE. I already know how good this must be....especially once you add all the seasonings.....my taste buds are screaming for this right now....lol. You have out done yourself with this one. GREAT JOB!
I came across your videos and I love them. You are a no nonsense right to the point kind of guy. I love making healthy soups and I normally do not follow anybody’s recipe because I love to invent my own. But I do check out others to see what they are adding. I am all about how to make my soup is healthy and as nutritious as can be. Thank you so much for your time and making this video and God bless you✨
Hey Andrew - recently came upon your channel and your style, presentation, and recipes just click with me. It's also fun as a native NJ guy who currently lives abroad in Germany, that I found someone close to back home :) Either way, many thanks to you and your wife for the incredible recipes you are sharing. My wife went full vegan at the beginning of this year and I've been trying to figure out how it impacts the meals we prepare at home. As the primary cook at home, I've tried teaching myself about different recipes and techniques to make cooking vegan work and it's been a hit or miss process. We've tried "Hello Fresh" for instance using their vegan options, and while sometimes they have some really interesting fun items, I find them as a real let down personally. To be direct/blunt, somehow they RUclips algorithm placed one of your videos in my feed and I decided to check it out and it's honestly blown me away. In the past month and a half I've prepared 7 (I'm pretty sure!) of the recipes from the YT channel and more from the 'make it dairy free' site. The artisan maple syrup bread in combination with the chick pea salad for instance has become a family staple/favorite. I suppose my only complaint/request would be more frequent content in this format on this channel. Maybe I could suggest two videos a week? For instance maintain the Sunday "large meal" release but also offer perhaps a smaller "meal"/snack video on Wednesdays? I'm no RUclips expert; just championing for more content that I enjoy :-) It's weird trying to express gratitude on a YT video comment, but I just hoped that you'd come across it and know that some guy across the pond is really enjoying what you're doing. All the best and keep believing in and doing good!
It may feel weird to express gratitude for/on a RUclips video, but the flow on vibrations travel throughout the world. I just read your comment, & I am in Australia. & it was heartwarming & uplifting to read your words of gratitude, & to hear your experiences. Keep on expressing gratitude in whatever form you can, every bit helps
I actually wasn't even looking for this. It popped up when I was searching for something else. But I'm so glad it did!! I am currently trying to slowly switch to an anti-inflammatory diet and change some major elements of my diet to help address my pcos related health issues. The transition hasn't been easy. But this looks amazing! I can't wait to try this! I just looked at the rest of your videos and subscribed.
Wearing white after Labor Day... The only perspective my Mom ever changed in my life. Well... That and role modeling that being a nosey neighbor is sometimes a good thing. Spent lots of time encouraging her to mind her own business. :) Soup? Bisque? Texture is EVERYTHING. I enjoy my soup thick and chunky. Instead of the high speed blender, I would have just left it in the pot and hit it with an immersion blender leaving bigger pieces behind. Or maybe just give it a good hand mashing. But then it wouldn't be bisque :). LOVE that you came in at the end with the roasted veg! That's what hit my soul! Stay amazing and Mom loving.... PEAAAAAACCCCCCCCE!
@1:07, he drizzled olive oil over the vegetables and what spice was he shaking from the container ? It wasn’t labeled in the video. Was it a seasoning salt? Paprika? Combination?
This is the first recipe I've made since I discovered your channel recently, and I can confirm that it's easy to make and delicious! perfect for winter, thanks ✌️
I know it's from a year ago, but it came up, and I just had to watch it. It makes me so happy, your presentation of the way you cook and the food looks so darn good. I like the idea of added texture by adding the toppings of veg. Sometimes when I have soup I feel like I missed something. Did you ever do a video on why you became a vegan? Is your mom a vegan?
Hi Andrew. First time watcher and right off the bat, may I say "your beard is ridonculously fantabulous". This soup looks amazing and I will be making it for my son and his lady when they come to visit in December (I am on the coast and they are Johannesburgers). Shay is vegan and Dex is slowly cutting out the meat, he is very health conscious and was an avid gym go-er until 2 and a half yrs ago when he contracted some wierd virus (the Docs now say he has "long covid" as they have been unable to diagnose his problem). The high protein and anti-inflammatory properties of this dish will be right up his alley. Thank you so much for sharing and I have hit the subscribe button
Brilliant! I suffer from psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis and this dish will help cool down the inflammation. Thanks! 🙏 My only issue is the hot and spicy things seem to also cause me to flare up. I'll have to try it anyway and see how my body reacts.
Bravo, good editing! Thank you for not wasting our time watching you chop things! Most of us are cooks for years, we know how to chop 😵💫. Btw this recipe sounds delightful, will give it a try... seems perfect for the fall. 🥰
This soup was amazing! Thank you so much. I changed a bit the order of the ingredients in the pan, I like to add the ginger at the same time as the garlic, then the tomato paste and then all the spices. I find that in this order the aromas and flavors of each element enhance each other perfectly .
Wow. Lovely meals and how you come across in explaining everything in an easy understandable fashion. My Favorite Channel so far. Please do cook more recipes, you’ve got me hooked. Love your channel, and love your personality and your videography is perfect. Thank you for being here and sharing your knowledge and your love of healthy foods. ❤❤❤
I knowww for a FACT, I will ENJOY this HEARTY soup. My goodness. Genius ! My tastebuds. I have to try! And I have to subscribe. Thank you! Very unique way of recording too, lots of eye action from us and a nice explanation made separately ! Interesting ! God bless you, Jesus loves you ❤🙏🏾 Edit after 2weeks: I tried this recipe about 3 days ago and wow. It’s amazing. ❤I added some double cream and a bunch of other seasonings and I didn’t bother to roast but this soup came out truly stunning. It’s so hearty and warming for a cold winter. I feel really healthy eating it, I would give it to someone who is sick. Glory to Jesus. I will give some to the homeless. Thank you for this recipe, God bless you abundantly.

brilliant. Im going to start doing the same!
Lol. Yes!! I couldn't wait so I just went and made it after breakfast, for our lunch. 🤣
Lol, he does make meal prep for the week much easier.. Plus, the meals aren't expensive and budget friendly even with high inflation now..

That is beautiful
This not only looked delicious but there was such a calmness and peace to this video. it legit lowered my blood pressure.

Or not peeled the sweet potato at all. I don’t find it is necessary. Especially for roasted sweet Potato
I gotta say, that soup looked absolutely delicious

Made this today and it was divine! Velvet smooth texture and so tasty. The roasted veggie topping gave the perfect crunch. One bowl was surprisingly filling! Adding to my winter soup rotation.
do you think it would be good over wild rice?
After three weeks of daily intending to make this (I blame my post-covid low energy) I finally did! It's superb. I skipped the nutmeg and reduced the cinnamon. I find I don't like savory cinnamon very much. I added a touch of sweetener too. And a half potato and half a yellow pepper that were both "on the verge", and some oat milk at the very end to thin a bit. The flavor is savory and kind of unexpected. Genius!
Love the edits. Makes the whole process so charming, but clean, crisp, instructive. Well done!
Thanks
Thank you so so much, Polina!!!
I love all the sounds of moving items are making on the kitchen table and everything else. Thank you mannnnn.
I made this recipe today only I garnished with pumpkin seeds. It was absolutely delicious...so creamy and flavorful. I will be watching more of your videos! Thank you!
Man, I just made this and it was phenomenal! The culinary equivalent of wrapping yourself in a warm, soft blanket on a rainy day.
The soup was incredible, and this channel is a blessing
Wow! I am so glad I stumbled upon this video! I have a ton of food allergies, tomatoes being one of them. This is a recipe I can make and eat; I could almost smell the fragrance of this soup while watching you make it. Thank you for sharing!
Same. Wheat, dairy, soy, and tree nuts (except for coconut and pistachio)
Came for the recipe, stayed for the talk-through! ❤❤❤
I was looking for a comforting soup to help me deal with a cold, hit the spot!!! Delicious and soothing, thank you Andrew.
Artistic flair in cooking video is visually a whole lot like " curling" ( the sport) with your bowls...a pleasure to watch. You've completely changed my perspective on eating healthy. soooo yummy
Peace and love. Please continue being yourself. You are a godsend
It's great that you show the prep. Cutting up the veggies can even be difficult.
This is my fave way to make a veg soup: a spicy, creamy bisque. Can’t wait to try this.
Watching you cook this was a treat for all the senses!
I really love reserving part of the veggies and roasting them and using them as a topping. Absolutely brilliant way to add some next textural variety to your soup. Definitely stealing that.
I literally said to my husband that I wanted to find a recipe for supper with chick peas....and here it is! Thank you so much! I can't wait to try it
I made this soup for dinner a couple nights ago and it was the bomb! So easy to make and was delicious. I will definitely be making it again. Thx for sharing Andrew!!
I just made it this evening!!!!! YUM!!!!! The roasted veg on top added that extra oomph. Thanks!!!! ❤
This reminds me of japanese cooking channels. No talking, no bullsh, just sound of food cooked, just view of how should it look on each stage. I like this.
Possibly the best soup I have ever tasted, winged the spices a little with the addition of cumin and paprika.
Shout outs to you my beautiful brother! Just started my cooking journey, and learning so much. This video inspired my soup choice today and it came out banging! Best I my must say! Stay blessed! And thank you for the great content! Stay blessed
Just made it, damn! Hits all the spots. Thanks✌🏼
I need this channel in my life- thank you Lord.
O M G! HELP ME PLEASE. I already know how good this must be....especially once you add all the seasonings.....my taste buds are screaming for this right now....lol. You have out done yourself with this one. GREAT JOB!
I love this video. NO TALKING!!! Ingredients is populate on the screen.
Made this for Dinner and it was so so good! Left overs were even better for lunch the next day. Thank you Mr. Bernard
Yo Andrew this is literally the best soup i’ve ever tasted period
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your videos!!! The sound effects - the clanking on the wooden board - is mesmerizing, and so "homey." Lovely.
Made this for meal prep last week and it's amazing!
I love using a stick blender for easier cleanup! This looks amazing and I can’t wait to try it.
Thank you so much for saving the chit chat until AFTER the cooking. Very useful information but it nice to know what you are dealing with first.
I'm no RUclips expert; just championing for more content that I enjoy :-)
It's weird trying to express gratitude on a YT video comment, but I just hoped that you'd come across it and know that some guy across the pond is really enjoying what you're doing.
@@SewHealthy8 truth!
I have tried several of your delicious recipes and I have never been disappointed. Thank you!
Sweet potato is hard to find in my country, so i always sustitute it with pumpkin and regular potato 😊
🙏🏾❤️
Just tried this soup, and it's divine, tasteful and filling. Thank you so much !
I am making this. Soup is not meant to be a watery substance, and you just bombed it for me.
Thanks much!👍🏾
I know it's from a year ago, but it came up, and I just had to watch it. It makes me so happy, your presentation of the way you cook and the food looks so darn good. I like the idea of added texture by adding the toppings of veg. Sometimes when I have soup I feel like I missed something. Did you ever do a video on why you became a vegan? Is your mom a vegan?
I have made this dish today, and it was so much fun! And it is absolutely delicious. Thank you so very much! This dish made my day.
Wooow!!! I just tried it.... A MA ZING
Everybody liked it and I was super satisfied ( which doesn't happen very often when I cook..)
Thanks a lot!
Your videos are so comforting to watch, thank you for sharing
Man, I love your channel. Thank you for taking the time to do this!
Brilliant! I suffer from psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis and this dish will help cool down the inflammation. Thanks! 🙏
My only issue is the hot and spicy things seem to also cause me to flare up. I'll have to try it anyway and see how my body reacts.
Left over parts from vegetables are also good for making your own veggie stock
YES!
this dude's recipes are legit. subbed.
Your Mom sounds awesome. Love your channel!
I love your videos. They are very elegant, detailed and educational.
THIS IS DELICIOUS! I'm so glad I made it. I'll definitely be doing it again, regularly.
oh my god, love EVERYTHING in this video ! From the dish to the guy 😍 thank you
my husband didn't believe it didn't have cream!!! Soooooooooo good!
I’m trying to lower my cholesterol levels in a healthy diet way and I think a plant based diet is besides exercise is the way to go. Love your channel, and love your personality and your videography is perfect. Thank you for being here and sharing your knowledge and your love of healthy foods. ❤❤❤
"Who doesn't want carrots". Great presentation. Your channel is the best I've found and I'm a connoisseur of cooking channels.
🙌🏾 thank you so much!!!
😂😂😂 love when he said that!!!!
Oh my gosh!! Ty! Ty! I was lookin for different way to use my cauliflower. This is perfect. 💁♀️👍
I knowww for a FACT, I will ENJOY this HEARTY soup. My goodness. Genius ! My tastebuds. I have to try! And I have to subscribe. Thank you! Very unique way of recording too, lots of eye action from us and a nice explanation made separately ! Interesting ! God bless you, Jesus loves you ❤🙏🏾
Edit after 2weeks: I tried this recipe about 3 days ago and wow.
It's a lovely soup, thank you for the recipe! I eat everything, but am glad to have more veggies in my diet.
