So many people getting arrogant about"beating" Alduin. The only reason you could defeat Alduin is because he was playing Dragon-King and not fulfilling his purpose,a deity following their own sphere is unstoppable. In this case Alduin wasn't eating nirn so he was infinitely weaker than he normally would be.The purpose of the dragonborn in the 4th era was to knock some sense into alduin and make him do his job.You couldn't absorb alduins soul because he went back up to Akatosh to be disciplined and reminded of his duties.
I'm under the impression that TLD is a new aspect of Alduin/Akatosh specifically sent to replace the corrupted world-eater. Depending on your interpretation of the Dragonborn DLC, Hermaeus Mora might have his own plans for you, to take Miraak's place instead.
When I'm alone in my house I put headphones on and walk around listening to your voice and imagining I'm listening to a lecture at the college of winterhold.
Fun fact: the Elder Scrolls world is based on a kalptic system. Meaning that once a world is destroyed, a new one is created. Nirn is just one out of many. In fact, the Hist and argonians have survived many kalpas.
+Klemen Kekec That's interesting, I'm not trying to be an asshole I'd just love to know where the source material for that is, obviously there is much info about the Hist and how it may have came to be, but I haven't seen any info that states it has been carried through many cycles of destroyed worlds
+Klemen Kekec M`aiq doesnt know why some people like argonians..M`aiq is not racist..really he is not..well maybe a little..these mother fuckers are consuming all our skooma.. >:(~
What about Alduin? His Destiny is to Devour the World. Yes, he was killed in Skyrim, but when you ask Arngeir about it, he says that Alduin might Return and Complete his destiny as the World Eater. He's most likely done it before.
+Benzux The Ender Master how would Alduin have done it before when there are very ancient beings that don't seem to aknowledge anything like that having happened in tes history.
lesROKnoobz there are tales ingame that this world came to be after Alduin devoured the last one. Devouring Nirn doesn't mean the Destruction of the Gods.
***** good point. I just haven't seen references to a past world. Also, how would the Nords have been aware of his ability to devour the world? IDK. Definitely would like if they expanded on this with the games.
lesROKnoobz maybe Alduin himself told about it to them. They Worshiped Dragons, maybe Alduin spoke with one of the Dragob Priests and told him his Destiny. But True, There should be more Stuff added to the Lore behind Alduin.
or.. Alduin could just warn the pimps if they disobeyed him then not only they would be eaten but nirn too and about the hist tree that came from sithis... don't know if the tree will recreate during the recreation of nirn
They are the most common. and the others don't go North since it gets colder. There are stories of Quadpedal khajiits attacking are roaming the South Cyrodill and Valenwood.
+ethanhenare1's Gaming Channel for gameplay reasons, also why would a massive cat wander into skyrim anyway, its not like they'd trade stuff with people :D
+Cordell Canfield Would that mean then that any khajiit getting pregnant decides to allways go back to their homeland then? and there is saber teethed tigers in skyrim, why not khajiit cats?
I think that yo may have missed one important possibility: The towers (Like White-Gold, Snow-Throat (Throat of the World) Walk-Brass (Numidium)) keep Nirn stable on a metaphysical level, and if they are all deactivated (like White-Gold was at the end of Oblivion with the destruction of its core, the Amulet of Kings) Mundus would cease to exist. I'm pretty sure that the Thalmor are trying to do this, which makes it possible that it could happen. (as they're pretty much the only ones crazy enough to try) From what I've read, it is one of the most likely scenarios and might make a good video topic by itself.
it does happen in the 5th era (or has already happened in another kalpa if you like that better) the thamlor removes "man" from existence and all towers are deactivated but cause of that brass-tower comes back and destroyes Nirn killing mostly everything. only the dark elves and khajiit survives out of the 10 main races. Read c0da, good stuff on TES.
do you also thing snow throat was deactivated when paathurnax was killed? if you dont like landfall (end of nirn in 5th era) then support the empire in skyrims civil war. if you wanna know why?
+Affeks That is not really accurate. In the past, there was a time warp that continued the battle between the Dominion and the Numidium for many eras, reapearring in the 5th Era. There, the Numidium defeats the Dominion and the Thalmor, later erasing the Thalmor from existence. The Nerevarine tries to defeat it and fails, but giving time to some Dunmers and Khajiit to escape to Masser. Nirn gets destroyed, and the Numidium heads for Masser, where it gets defeated by a dunmer who is the writer of the whole story.
Your rapture idea is off, it's where God takes the Christians he doesn't kill anyone (you're probably thinking of Armageddon) which is different, but good video I hope they don't stop making elder scrolls games anytime soon
And rapture isn't even supported by all denominations of Christianity (far from it in fact). I'm a Catholic, and there is no such thing as rapture. As for angels, there are different types as well, not all are warriors.
When the moons went out, did that event coincide with the dwemer disappearing? They did use their tools on Lorkhan's heart, and if he is the moon... What if the dwemer were on the moon?
+shadowthehh2 Also, reading up on the Elder Scrolls Wiki, apparently there's something in the Khajiit lore about the two current moons lining up with a third. And that a Khajiit born on that day, called a "Mane", will be their race's leader. "Khajiit tradition holds that only one Mane can be alive at any one time and that there is only one Mane, who is simply reborn in different bodies. There has been no recorded instance of multiple Manes contending for power; whether this is due to the truth of the Khajiit belief, or whether the ruling Mane takes care to eliminate any potential rivals before they can mature, cannot be determined. A Mane can be born only under a rare alignment of the moons Masser and Secunda when, according to legend, a third moon appears in the sky. In ancient times, the Khajiit would shave off their own manes in deference to the Mane, braiding them into locks that he would incorporate into his own, gigantic mane. Over time, as the population of the region grew, this ritual became impractical. Now, while all Khajiit still remove their manes, they do so largely as a symbolic sacrifice. The current Mane still wears the hair-locks and braids of his own tribe as well as those of his Warrior Guard, which encompasses hundreds of Khajiit. He is so weighted down by the hair of his kinsmen that he cannot move without aid, and often travels about the countryside by means of a palanquin. "
+shadowthehh2 however, the wiki also states that eleswyr belongs to the Aldermeri Dominion, who assasinated the last Mane, destroyed the Confederacy and set up two ancient kingdoms
Well....not to be technical but the world didnt End, more like the past civilisation emploded on itself, and now a new civilisation now has to carve out their own lives.
It's called Landfall. The end of Nirn is called Landfall, where the Numidium - not the Anumidium - falls out of the Dragon Break caused by Tiber Septim ordering it to eliminate the Altmer (or Alinor, I don't remember). It then goes on to eliminate any existing Altmer - High Elves - and then attacks the rest of the world. People survive when the Nereverine comes back and something happens and the survivors go to live under the surface of Masser.
I'm sorry, but your Christian lore is toooootally wrong. 1- The Rapture will be when all believers in Earth are taken up to to Heaven, to escape the coming calamities, which are . . . 2- Not angels! It'll mostly be weather, and the Antichrist. 3- There are 2 different types of angels, Seraphim and Cherubim, with Seraphim being choir angels, and Cherubim being the guardian and warriors. 4- Lucifer was the choir director! Not some murdering angel of death. He got too full of himself and God tossed him down to Earth. Fun Fact- There is no mention in the Bible of any angels being female. Anytime there was an angel, they always used male ways to address them. So, have a great day.
+Masterof900 1 was it really not by angels?? i do specifically remember reading it was by angels. I will defer to your knowledge on this though. I had a friend of mine explain to me the lore a while back and how Lucifer fell; which was through the battle of "debate". Though i am not sure how much of it was actually canon.
Also he needs to brush up on his theology because there's a fair amount of mis information. The rapture comes in the form of the four horsemen. Death, disease, war and natural disasters.
Lizzeh Goes Bork /sigh. no! Alduins soul VISIBLY shoots through the hole in the sky of Sovngard. Like the effect when the dragonborn absorbs a dragon soul, but HUGE and not ending up at tdb, but out into "space"... Presumably returning to Akatosh so he can reset everything at will. Only Alduins body shatters.
Connor Mac I believe that Alduin will return, but I believe that there will be another Dragonborn, and that there will be an infinite loop of Alduin being defeated by more Dragonborns...
Yeah looks like the game was only set on Skyrim... You mean preaching like The Elder Scrolls was a real life bible, and the lore as it's scriptures of religion
the fictional characters who wrote the ingame books this theory is based off of are demigods more or less. Read 36 lessons of vivec and/or mankar camoran's commentaries may be good places to start.
+Velociraptors of Skyrim there is no other star system. outside mundus (our star system) is aetherius which is in aurubis which is made up from anu and pandomay which is in the middle of a void which is in a dream... but hey, TES is meant to be headcanon so youre just as right as I am
Actually, Masser might be moving away from Nirn, just like our moon. Secunda may have been a moon of Nirn in the past that collided with Masser. In this case Masser would be pulling Secunda with it away from Nirn. It's possible but highly unlikely.
I think that the next game will be about the aldmeri and elven provinces and I think that the game will be about something about the Great War BUT I ALSO HAVE A THEORY THAT THE QUEST COULD ALSO BE ABOUT the disappearance of both of the moons the thalmor mentioned before
+Anton Keyvan (Ant-pixel) It doesn't have to, to point out how I know that it really doesn't matter what was happening in Skyrim (why they don't have to continue with the elves v. humans thing) is Morrowind. That's right Morrowind (or even Arena if you like it better) Morrowind set up at it's conclusion that the Nerevarine was going to kill the Tribunal gods, and band together the Dark elves and repel all non-dark elves/outlanders from Morrowind's borders. While all of this happened in lore and then Nerevar leaves for akavir (after destroying/removing House Hlaalu and giving most of his ruling power to House Redoran and the other houses) None of this story was continued in the next game: Oblivion. And in the case of Arena that centered around TONS of conflicts (the main story excluded because I'd rather not talk about it) there were the problems between the Bretons and Redguards v. the Orcs of Orsinium and then just Bretons v. other Bretons and Redguards v. Everybody else.... again absolutely none of this way continued in Morrowind (The game after it).
I appreciate the effort of trying to bring an understanding of gravitational physics and orbits to the table here when talking about Masser and Secunda but in all honesty we're not talking about the planet Earth in the real Universe :P we can't relate our own understanding of the world we live in to one that was literally created by god like beings and spirits with things like magic, demons and non-human sentient races. I personally like it that way, you're not mean't to understand everything.
Wei Zhao Go spew your bullshit elsewhere man, nobody is listening to you as per usual. Your obvious superiority complex wins you no favors in reality. Go get some fucking sunlight and meet some people in the real world, maybe you'll find something to live for.
+Wei Zhao oh em gee, you win the confirmation bias game. Good for you, clearly the occult means so much to you that instead of "arguing" over it you pull the SJW route and plug your ears while screaming "I know you are but what am I?" You're a child in an adults body, though I probably should have guessed that from your original comment
I'm not actually sure this would happen. Keep in mind that in TES, Mundus was carefully designed by their gods. It's unlikely they would make errors in creating this mechanism - it's much more likely they would have simply put the moons into a perfect, stable orbit. You could probably safely assume that the three celestial bodies are perfectly stable in their orbits and rotations.
Your chanel is amazing!!!!! You have so much info to explain and you sound so passionate talking, thank you for posting about skyrim almost six years later :)
What about alduin returning to fulfill his prophecy? The dragonborn did not absorb his soul at the end of the game, and the graybeards hint that he may return.
MegaT3rr0R He wouldn't be the main focus, no, but I don't think he would be on the sidelines. Remember, Bethesda may not even make a game like this so its pointless saying if they would do this or not.
What do you mean by saying Bethesda may not even make a game like this? Tes is getting bigger and its gaining more popularity with each release. I believe tes 6 has been worked on since the start of 2012 right after the release of skyrim just as fallout 4.
MegaT3rr0R This whole video is all about the end of the TES series. Given what you told me, (About it getting bigger) makes it more possible a game involving the end of the series is never going to be made.
The problem with making any kind of theory about the cosmology of the Elder Scrolls universe is that we really know next to nothing about the nature of the universe. The lore books all say that the moons are the two pieces of Lorkhan's body and that the sun is the hole that Magnus ripped through Oblivion and that the planets are the corporeal forms of the gods and whatnot, but keep in mind that when our own world was at this level of scientific development, our scholars also believed in a firmament and a dome between us and Heaven and a universe that didn't extend beyond the few celestial bodies we can see. So there could be a very realistic scientific undertone to this universe that no one understands yet, or it could be entirely supernatural. It's impossible to tell.
I may be laughing at your descriptions of Christianity, being a christian myself. Lots of misconceptions. First, we don't say "infidel" anymore. Second, being good isn't a factor in going to heaven. Ya did get the angels right, which a lot of people don't. So props to ya. Though, angels aren't supposed to really be mean per say. But they mostly showed up in the old testament, which had lots of wrath. And yeah, Satan and the Demons were angels, but they were all sent to hell. Aaand, they wouldn't kill EVERYBODY. Lots of other stuff happens, but people are still capable of becoming christian during it. Though, they would have to go through all the horrible stuff detailed in Revelations. Anywho, sorry for ranting a bit, I just wanted to clear some stuff up. Hope ya don't mind. Great video as well, I really enjoyed it.
Udrakan Morturim What do you mean? I was saying that you don't have to be a perfect person to reach heaven, because that wouldn't work. All you have to do is believe that Jesus rose from the dead. Basically, he says that everybody messes up, and that's okay. Anywho, not trying to preach or convert ya or anything, but I do enjoy discussing what I believe. Did I manage to explain myself well?
Udrakan Morturim That's why the goal of Christians is to convert other people. It's not out of spite or anything, it's out of pure compassion. And the best way to explain the reason for Hell is to think of humanity as God's bride. God loves absolutely every single human. And he loves each individual human so much that when they turn their backs on him, he becomes rather angry. Like you would if your wife were to leave you. That's why the Old Testament has what seems like a really angry God; his chosen people, the Jews, keep turning against him and doing stupid stuff. So, yeah. It'd be nice if Hell didn't exist, but hopefully you can see why it would. I hope I've helped ya understand my point of view somewhat.
ThatZommy No, I still don't understand why a good person would agree with such practices. Person should be led to be good with or without fear of God's reckoning or love. I will not kill a person because I am human, and I don't want humans to kill each other. And I will honor my parents because I love them, not because I am being told to do so by the Book or God. I will live my life like a good, loving person whether there is God or not, without any need to worship him. And if my wife would leave me, I'd not be angry, because there had to be something wrong in our relationship and leaving could be a good solution and a way for a new start.
I love these videos where he just talks to us like we are just sitting by the fire looking at the stars and Rhexx is just high af or something make more of these I love them makes me feel connected to the channel
Hey Rhex, came across your channel again today! oh boy its been some time, last vid i saw from u im pretty sure you had about 4k subscribers and now 300k! congratz man and i love the video quality now compared to back then aswell! :) glad to see you still going ^^
Maceto How scathing. Sorry but not sorry, the presentation for this video is shoddy at best. Hard to pay attention when the presentation is about as entertaining as a ornithological symposium.
Perhaps, it is not him rambling and his science is not too far off. Maybe it is your inability to listen to things that have to explained. Maybe you just can't pay attention for that long.
TheGeekFactor I expect a better presentation from a channel which has so many subscribers. There are plenty of others who have videos just as long that are both informative and entertaining. This comes up short on that second half. Some of the other videos are plenty fine, but others lack that certain something. But don't insult my intelligence much less my attention span. So don't assume GeekFactor. You know what that does.
Does gravity really make sense in Skyrim? There's a Heavy Armor perk that reduces fall damage if wearing FULL heavy armor. Now does that make sense at all? I don't think Secunda is gonna crash-land into Nirn any time soon.
Idk what it is, but the way the music goes with his voice is super peaceful. Either alone is either not peaceful(rhexx) or boring(music) it's somehow a beautiful collision of sound
I seriously doubt that Bethesda would have the moon get destroyed, but having it disappear via Thalmor magic once again for a small amount of time could be quite reasonable and interesting.
+House Dagoth Could it be that when they "made" the moon disappear it was just the moon moving behind the first moon? If the orbit was getting longer, then its be spending more time out of sight
+Killian Pottorff Aren't the Moons physical parts of Lorkhan? Disregarding what Rhexx said here, since the only evidence of Lorkhan's presence on Nirn is his Heart and some Bones apparentely?
Speaking of moons crashing into planets, in Morrowind, the ministry of truth was supposed to be a moon that was going to crash into Vivic City. Vivic used his power to stop it, but it's implied that his power was waning. In Solstheim, I read a book that mentioned the Ministry managed to make touchdown, perhaps when the last of Vivic's power faded? Either way, this caused the eruption of Red Mountain and the destruction of a great deal of Vvardenfall.
The intelligence of Khajiit doesn't depend on how human they look, the only drastic differences are in their appearance and ability to speak. The Alfiq are just as sentient as the Suthay-Raht. From UESP: "A quadrupedal form of Khajiit, the Alfiq is, in many respects, similar to a common housecat. Although diminutive in form, the Alfiq retain the keen intelligence of the Khajiiti, having the ability to understand the spoken word of others, although unable to respond. It is possible that they can cast spells; see Mixed Unit Tactics for more on this subject"
I really like this speculation and is totally legit! But have you ever heard of Landfall? The origins of the event can be traced back to the ending days of Tiber Septim's conquests in which the Numidium was used. During the final battle of the Tiber's war against the Second Aldmeri Dominion, the siege of Alinor, the Numidium was caught in a time warp. While the siege of Alinor only lasted around an hour in perceivable time, the warp caused the Numidium to remain in battle with the forces of the Dominion from some point in the Merethic Era all the way to the late Fifth Era. This distortion in time allowed the Numidium to essentially escape its own demise at the hands of the Underking. In other words, the Numidium was freed from his bonds and destroyed all of Nirn.
+GepropCommentaar Hm...isn't that something Psycic's are trying to investigate/stop ? (i mean it's hard to tell since they're enigmatic as shit, but their interest in thalmors actions, and abilities to influance time and space...)
Really like that chain of thought ! But: - If Secunda was to collide with Nirn, You will probably wake up in a Spaceshuttle on that Elderscrolls "Armagedon" series on a mission to the moon (imagine all the gameplay there...) i'll just name my Character "Bruce Willis" and save Nirn. INTERESTING OBSERVATIONS: 1- Secunda has been exploited Twice so far by Daedric Princes; - Hircine using the bloodmoon (Secunda) in ES3 where the Nerevarine faces Lycanthropy and Hircine himself, where we can see how Secunda affects directly the Animal aspect in Humans... - Molag Bal using the bloodmoon Prophecy in ES5 where the Dragonborn faces vampires and their quest at ending the Tyranny of the "SUN" ....... Bear with me here.... 2- THE "SUN" is just a hole created by "MAGNUS" when he escaped Mundus... That same "SUN" is projecting Light towards Masser and Secunda and directly affecting the Khajiit race. This is all too philosophical, but whatever races are being affected by Secunda or Lorkhan himself, such as Werewolves and Khajiit or even Vampires, is equally balanced and affected by Magnus who by his definition is the architect of Mundus. I think this whole thing is shedding lights on the gameworlds' own theory of Evolution , Thoughts?
I've started to create my own thing my theory in magic is, magic is life itself and if arcane influence suddenly dies, thousands would drop dead since the more you engage with it the closer the bond. (Battle mages for example would have sync of like 78% so if a certain element got genocided it would kill the users in that case).
I've got an idea. The moons collide with each other, shattering both and creating a ring around Nirn. Khajiit society is thrown into total disarray. Factions form, one condemning the High Elves and the Aldmeri Dominion for failing to defend the moons and/or lying about the High Elves bringing the moons back in the first place (the reason Elsweyr joined the Dominion). The other faction remains loyal to the Dominion. Each faction controls a city or two in Elsweyr, but outside of those cities, total Chaos. Obviously, the game takes place in Dominion territories, maybe just Elsweyr, maybe the whole Dominion, maybe just Elsweyr and a few surrounding areas (crossing the borders into Cyrodiil and Valenwood). Also, the destruction of the moons serves as a vessel for the Daedric princes, the more ambitious of them choosing to attack Mundus (Dagon, Bal, Sheogorath maybe?) all at the same time. The main objective of the game would be first to stop the second (third? events of ESO) Oblivion crisis, and perhaps to attack the Daedra directly in vengeance. The secondary objective, like the Civil War in Skyrim, would be to unify Elsweyr in one of three ways: under the sponsorship of the Dominion, under the sponsorship of the Empire, or a push for an independent Elsweyr. What do y'all think?
At the time just before the War of the Three Alliances one of the moons DID disappear... in fact that is why the Khajiit were able to be convinced to join the Aldmeri Dominion, because the high elves promised to quote: "Bring back the moon" and then the khajiits joined and by some wonderful coincidence it did return (And I'm not saying it disappeared for as long as say a new moon... it literally disappeared completely) Look it up lads.
So if someone who didn't need to breathe, say a vampire were to have 100% frost resistance could they go into space and just float their arse to Aetherius?
+MrRhexx i just want to point out that if the moon did disappear then the Khajiit would not become feral but their society would break down and the moons have disappeared before if you search for the void nights, also all Khajiit are as intelligent as any other regardless on the form they take the moons only effect their physical appearance not their mental capacity.
(Note: I haven't finished the video yet) My only issue with the whole "moon getting slingshot into Burn" theory is the fact that unlike real physics which are being properly used in that idea, this world has gods that we know have in the past and some still DO exist. If they didn't want Nirn to be destroyed, as a collective, they could probably keep everything in whatever illogical orbit they wanted.
+Tyler Schaefer according to some prevalent theories, The Dominion is trying to unravel the very fabric of reality so they can return to godhood. this involves weakening the power of the Gods who's strengths are connected with the amount of worship they get. I think a future elderscrolls game will involve stopping the Dominion from destroying the world and restoring the Covenant and rebuilding the Towers (which act as anchors which keep Nirn attached to reality)
Fantastic episode! I'm pretty sure the Thalmor are trying to find a way to destroy Morning (to reclaim their immortality). I only know this BC your videos made me go on a research spree lol! As to the Moon and it's effects on the Khajiit. They are protected by Azura. It was she who taught them the "Lunar Lattice" so that they could survive the destruction of their forest. So whatever that lattice mysteries are would define the impact on the Khajiit.
An interesting thing is that Skyrim seriously seems like the last Elder Scrolls Game (there will be more though). The Elder Scrolls Prophecy fits perfectly with the events in all of the games created so far, and unless a new prophecy is created, Skyrim was the very last part of the prophecy. I will do a link to an explanation in my own comments.
One I would like to see is perhaps Shor getting corrupted by temptation for battle.... perhaps it would be fitting.... Molag Bal. Lose control of Sovergarde, enslave souls to fight for him on Nirn to enslave as many as he can... And you... as the hero have to stop this. I think that would be a kinda of a cool twist.
the kajhit points made were correct except for one. the smaller one he mentioned is actually a form called 'the mane' i believe, which is so strong in leadership that they collect hair from each of the kajhit in thier clan, growing their mane out over their life span
The more I think about it, I kinda want The Elder Scrolls VI: Argonia to center around various factions and races competing for the fragments of Lorkhan, which will lead to the eventual rediscovery of the engine of the Brass Tower.
I'm surprised you never mentioned the towers. They're the most likely and most cannon end to the world of Nirn. Some folks probably don't know what the towers are so I'll explain them a little. From what I've read, the towers are essentially pillars that stabilize Mundus (the solar system) and stop it from being consumed by Oblivion. Each tower has a physical tower and a core, which is usually portrayed as a gem. The first tower was the Adamantine Tower, being created when the Aedra entered Nirn to decide the fate of Lorkhan, the gem was the meeting itself (called the convention, I beleive). The second was the Red Mountain which was created when Lorkhan's heart (which is also its gemstone) was ripped out and fired into the sea. The mer, who were descendants of the Aedra and longed to return to godhood, created multiple towers which would allow them to return to Aetherius. However, over time, the Altmer (by extension, the Thalmor) came to see the towers as the bars to their prison. They came to the conclusion that to escape Mundus and return to Aetherius, they must destroy the towers (there was also something about wiping mankind from the face of reality and time as well). Basically, if they were to succeed (several have already been destroyed or had their cores destroyed) the world would be obliterated and they would become gods. I'm no expert on this so feel free to correct me. (Also this comment is kinda late...) EDIT: the towers were: 1. The Adamantine Tower (created by the Aedra) 2. The Red Mountain 3. Crystal-like-law (created by the Altmer) 4. The White-gold tower (created by the Ayleids) 5. The Orichalc Tower (created by the Left-hand elves) 6. The Brass Tower aka. the Numidium (created by the Dwemer) 7. The Snow Throat aka. Throat of the World
nirn's two moons, stars and sun are not actual planets or stars. they are fourth-dimensional holes to aetherius and the planets you see in-game are a result of the mortal mind trying to make sense of what it sees.
Just remember for a foot note, there are about 12 different kinds of Judo-Christianic Angels with three of them being "Fallen" or Evil Angels. Not all are the stereotypical "Warrior" there are (Suppose to be at least) ones for anything from war and prophecy to mundane things like everyday tasks.
Nirn is a cyclic system of creation, specifically kalptic. Basically a world takes it's course and alduin eats it, and another is born. Problem is Skyrim has ensured that it can have a scenario where nirn never ends. Alduin has been "killed", and if he is truly dead then he can not eat the world making way for the next kalpa. This works in Bethesdas favor as if they never want it to end they have an excuse. Its also ironic given Skyrim can't seem to fucking die
The world is shifting around you. The thalmor have destroyed all the towers... You have failed, and you see flashes of oblivion... You close your eyes to say goodbye to this kalpa... "I've been looking for you. Got something I was suppost to deliver. Your hands only."
The only thing that would end Mundus would be the Towers failing. And since nearly half of them have been destroyed in the recent few centuries, I wouldn't argue that the possibility of the end of the Elder Scrolls would be in the next millennium or two.
Daniel Stancampiano I think there is a mod which actually lets you travel to Black Marsh. But like every province mod it's probably not finished or still in alpha.
more than likely, before Secundas actually impacted Nirn, it would be ripped apart into a ring system by gravitational forces of both Nirn and Masser. of course, this would still have somewhat cataclysmic effects on Norn's ecosystem and tectonics, but the planet would remain. And eventually the rings would be pulled into Nirn and Masser. Eventually leaving a planet with a single moon.
While we don't know the exact mass of either of the moons AFAIK, they definitely appear to be large enough that if they crash into Nirn, the oceans WILL boil, and the crust of Nirn WILL become molten, and EVERYTHING WILL DIE, PERIOD.
You also forget that the divines would probably interfere in this event. Just as they did during the oblivion crisis. It's likely that they would re-enter the physical plane and directly stop soucunda from hitting nirn.
M`aiq has gone to Aetherious once..its nice in there..but he likes Nirn even more..so he will protect it from the tyranny of the moon..M`aiq has Chim..do not worry >:)~
Have you read "The Great War" book in Skyrim. In it, it says that the two moons disappeared for 2 years!. The Thalmor said they brought them back, which is why Elswyer Is part of the Aldermeri Dominion.
Exactly. Someone finally gets it
I'm under the impression that TLD is a new aspect of Alduin/Akatosh specifically sent to replace the corrupted world-eater. Depending on your interpretation of the Dragonborn DLC, Hermaeus Mora might have his own plans for you, to take Miraak's place instead.
The world is slowly ending, a guard walks by "Wait, I know you."
You're making a mistake....
Lmfaoooo
Oh I get it
Aryaman Chaturvedi 4 days later... you're not very bright, are you? haha
Frotzy Lmaooo xD
When I'm alone in my house I put headphones on and walk around listening to your voice and imagining I'm listening to a lecture at the college of winterhold.
I'M NOT ALONE! 😂
That's actually pretty cool.
+Satan's Potato BROOOOO
+Satan's Potato I totally get that! :D I think his voice is really nice to listen to right? I do that too :D
Have you managed level 100 destruction spells yet
Fun fact: the Elder Scrolls world is based on a kalptic system. Meaning that once a world is destroyed, a new one is created. Nirn is just one out of many. In fact, the Hist and argonians have survived many kalpas.
+Klemen Kekec That's interesting, I'm not trying to be an asshole I'd just love to know where the source material for that is, obviously there is much info about the Hist and how it may have came to be, but I haven't seen any info that states it has been carried through many cycles of destroyed worlds
Hist... most likely... argonians.. lol
You tell me the Hist didnt forget to bring their pet lizards over from the last kalpa?
+Klemen Kekec M`aiq doesnt know why some people like argonians..M`aiq is not racist..really he is not..well maybe a little..these mother fuckers are consuming all our skooma.. >:(~
Actually, skooma is made by the dark elves, moon sugar is cultivated by the Khajiit
Thallanar Rabidtooth M`aiq knows many things no?

+decietful vision do I XD
+QuirkyAdventures I applaud you. Well played.

If Secunda crashed on to nirn, wouldn't that make the kajeet super like beyond dwarf level intelligent, because it'd be sooo close.

No more skooma...
You will be surprised, but Khajit have little to do with production of said substance. Nevermind inventing it. They just like it :)
clearly skooma was invented by meridia to cleanse the world of unwanted filth
PICKLE RIIICCCKKK!!!!
Wait..... seriously???
strange how in skyrim you only see fully humanoid khajiits.
+Cordell Canfield
Would that mean then that any khajiit getting pregnant decides to allways go back to their homeland then?
and there is saber teethed tigers in skyrim, why not khajiit cats?
The ones in Skyrim are only semi-humanoid. You should play Arena.
It is speculated that the sabre cats you fight in Skyrim are forms of Khajiit
+Evgeny Sidagis I meant Altmer there
What article is this?
Your rapture idea is off, it's where God takes the Christians he doesn't kill anyone (you're probably thinking of Armageddon) which is different, but good video I hope they don't stop making elder scrolls games anytime soon
Yeah I was like what Rapture is he talking about not Jesus maybe Godzilla or sonething????
And rapture isn't even supported by all denominations of Christianity (far from it in fact). I'm a Catholic, and there is no such thing as rapture. As for angels, there are different types as well, not all are warriors.
When the moons went out, did that event coincide with the dwemer disappearing? They did use their tools on Lorkhan's heart, and if he is the moon...
What if the dwemer were on the moon?
Amen
For some reason that reminded me of Iron Sky.
*x-files music plays*
Imperial Mananauts would have seen them.
They live underground tho so we wouldn't see them
I just realized that the whole thing with the Khajiit and the moons explains why they looked so human in Arena and Daggerfall.
+shadowthehh2 DUDE,I think someone already about the Mane and Khajiit.
+shadowthehh2 however, the wiki also states that eleswyr belongs to the Aldermeri Dominion, who assasinated the last Mane, destroyed the Confederacy and set up two ancient kingdoms
Do we know for sure that Nirn is the larger object? Could it be possible that Nirn is a satellite of Masser?
Alex Diggs not a bad point.... I was gonna argue but I can't really without being like "the Lord says..." so GJ.
The lore explains how it is like the sun, and everything surrounds it.
"Not the good kind of nerd that knows stuff" story of my life

Well....not to be technical but the world didnt End, more like the past civilisation emploded on itself, and now a new civilisation now has to carve out their own lives.
"the ropture" MrRhexx 2016
It's called Landfall. The end of Nirn is called Landfall, where the Numidium - not the Anumidium - falls out of the Dragon Break caused by Tiber Septim ordering it to eliminate the Altmer (or Alinor, I don't remember). It then goes on to eliminate any existing Altmer - High Elves - and then attacks the rest of the world. People survive when the Nereverine comes back and something happens and the survivors go to live under the surface of Masser.
One of the moons falling and sending the world into chaos would make for a cool story in a future elder scrolls game.
The Elder Scrolls VI: Majora's Mask
Grandsome omg XD
If elderscrolls dies I will slowly die due to depression
Jokes on you, you're already slowly dying.
John Shepard I see what you did there 😂👌
you two are both awesome. Elliott for caring about this series and getting John's awesome joke
+Masterof900 1 So basically, Angels/the Bible are/is sexiest?
+Masterof900 1 was it really not by angels?? i do specifically remember reading it was by angels. I will defer to your knowledge on this though. I had a friend of mine explain to me the lore a while back and how Lucifer fell; which was through the battle of "debate". Though i am not sure how much of it was actually canon.
Devine beings are gender less they're just presented as males so we can understand them and give them physical characteristics.
Also he needs to brush up on his theology because there's a fair amount of mis information. The rapture comes in the form of the four horsemen. Death, disease, war and natural disasters.
+Rival RedRose angels are androgynous
what if house cats from today are descendants of the khajiit and the meteor that destroyed the dinosaurs was actually secounda
+Tito Vithoulkas Mind = Blown.
carter campbell I know, it's just that I find this funny.

😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲
Lol. Alduin isn't dead, he will return and fulfill the prophecy eventually. Alduin the World Eater will be the end of the world eventually
Lloyd Zed in the game you dont absorb his soul. sorry to burst your theory bubble
Eddie Goldsworthy u kill alduin in sovnguard, alduin really has no soul. When u kill him his body and soul shatters :P
Qays Syed Until Alduin’s Inevitable Victory over a Dragonborn
The way you talk and the music you use makes it sound like your preaching skyrim as a religion...
Skyrim is the best religion
Hail Sithis.
Amanda Walker if im going to blindly beleive some prophecy with no good reason aside from fear of the unknown, it might as well be tamriel lore.
Yeah looks like the game was only set on Skyrim...
You mean preaching like The Elder Scrolls was a real life bible, and the lore as it's scriptures of religion
About the whole Solar System thing, I doubt that it is actually that way. Remember: We used to think our Solar System was the only one that existed.
the fictional characters who wrote the ingame books this theory is based off of are demigods more or less. Read 36 lessons of vivec and/or mankar camoran's commentaries may be good places to start.
+Affeks Yeah, but remember they are still partly mortal and cannot comprehend other Star Systems.
+Velociraptors of Skyrim there is no other star system. outside mundus (our star system) is aetherius which is in aurubis which is made up from anu and pandomay which is in the middle of a void which is in a dream... but hey, TES is meant to be headcanon so youre just as right as I am
Affeks Yeah.
Sorry for not replying earlier. Someone flagged your comment as spam so I didn't get the notification you posted anything.
The elder scrolls apocalypse will be when ea buys them out
In the rapture Christians go to heaven instantly. Not killing everyone who doesn't believe. God does this to give non-believers a chance to believe.
Actually, Masser might be moving away from Nirn, just like our moon. Secunda may have been a moon of Nirn in the past that collided with Masser. In this case Masser would be pulling Secunda with it away from Nirn. It's possible but highly unlikely.
Massur couldn't collide with Nirn, since it would disintegrate due to the Roche limit, eventually turning into a ring around Nirn.
I think that the next game will be about the aldmeri and elven provinces and I think that the game will be about something about the Great War BUT I ALSO HAVE A THEORY THAT THE QUEST COULD ALSO BE ABOUT the disappearance of both of the moons the thalmor mentioned before
Think it's a good theory rhexx anybody?
I'm pretty sure elder scrolls 6 is going to be in Black Marsh...
+jason Hedges how is it going to continue the story of the fight between the humans and elves?
Everybody else.... again absolutely none of this way continued in Morrowind (The game after it).
maybe lorkahn had a pet cat
I appreciate the effort of trying to bring an understanding of gravitational physics and orbits to the table here when talking about Masser and Secunda but in all honesty we're not talking about the planet Earth in the real Universe :P we can't relate our own understanding of the world we live in to one that was literally created by god like beings and spirits with things like magic, demons and non-human sentient races. I personally like it that way, you're not mean't to understand everything.
filthy filthy casul THE LORE OF ELDER SCROLLS IS FUN
Wei Zhao Go spew your bullshit elsewhere man, nobody is listening to you as per usual. Your obvious superiority complex wins you no favors in reality. Go get some fucking sunlight and meet some people in the real world, maybe you'll find something to live for.
+Wei Zhao oh em gee, you win the confirmation bias game. Good for you, clearly the occult means so much to you that instead of "arguing" over it you pull the SJW route and plug your ears while screaming "I know you are but what am I?" You're a child in an adults body, though I probably should have guessed that from your original comment
Ferris Kerr
Troll.
Wei Zhao Whatever you gotta tell yourself to make it through tomorrow, bud.
Wait, maybe if Secunda crashed into tamriel..a huge crater would be formed but the gods will save them and maybe the next game will revolve around it.
Dang man, your voice is freaking awesome! I could sit infront of you, letting you explain/having theorys about stuffs for hours
Landfall
Yessssss
More of these kind of vidyas pls
Hey Rhexx will you do a skyrim lore video on Redguards and Hammerfell please?
I'm not actually sure this would happen. Keep in mind that in TES, Mundus was carefully designed by their gods. It's unlikely they would make errors in creating this mechanism - it's much more likely they would have simply put the moons into a perfect, stable orbit. You could probably safely assume that the three celestial bodies are perfectly stable in their orbits and rotations.
Your chanel is amazing!!!!! You have so much info to explain and you sound so passionate talking, thank you for posting about skyrim almost six years later :)
"Yeah we're going nerdy here" yeah because talking about the lore and doomsday of a fictional fantasy world isn't already lol
What about alduin returning to fulfill his prophecy? The dragonborn did not absorb his soul at the end of the game, and the graybeards hint that he may return.
+Max Schoenfuss I Agree, whatever the case, it will most likely involve Alduin.
+Velociraptors of Skyrim don't think they'll do alduin again. Maybe they'll do something involving him but not directly.
So first earth now nirn any one know what i mean
Hopefully that doesn’t mean TES games will end one day. Bethesda could keep going for 20 more games easily.
I see all this comments talking about shit i don't know about, could that mean that they don't have a life?
No, but it could mean that you're an idiot.
aleah marie
Same as you, getting upset for nothing, good job.
Except I never got upset.
Semantics...
aleah marie
You get wet?
Totally.
+ThatZommy Still christian after realizing "Second, being good isn't a factor in going to heaven."? Why would you support something like this?
Udrakan Morturim What do you mean?
I was saying that you don't have to be a perfect person to reach heaven, because that wouldn't work. All you have to do is believe that Jesus rose from the dead.
Basically, he says that everybody messes up, and that's okay.
Anywho, not trying to preach or convert ya or anything, but I do enjoy discussing what I believe. Did I manage to explain myself well?
And what If a good person refuses to believe in Jesus rising from the dead?
And if my wife would leave me, I'd not be angry, because there had to be something wrong in our relationship and leaving could be a good solution and a way for a new start.
lol bro, you dont know much of Christian lore...do you?
+mpw48507 Yeah that was one of the worst descriptions of the christian end times that I've heard in a while.
Revelation 34:21 - "And then the angels will all come down and kill everyone. Not the woman with wings kind, but the warrior kind, like Satan."
I had to stop about five minutes.
You ramble to much and don't actually seem to know what your talking about.
Good day.
SlamifiedBuddafied nice attention span
In my opinion with other lore knowledge his 'rambling' is quite informative and he opens some interesting theorys up but that's my opinion
I love watching your lore videos on a franchise I've been playing since Oblivion, thanks MrRhexx!
Finally a new rhexx commentary lol
The moons and stuff aren't spheres... They're planes, but mortals have to rationalize them as planetary bodies.
+Killian Pottorff In essence, they are kinda like bubbles of reality, with all of "space" being oblivion itself
From UESP:
"A quadrupedal form of Khajiit, the Alfiq is, in many respects, similar to a common housecat.
Although diminutive in form, the Alfiq retain the keen intelligence of
the Khajiiti, having the ability to understand the spoken word of
others, although unable to respond. It is possible that they can cast
spells; see Mixed Unit Tactics for more on this subject"
your vids help me go to sleep, they calm me down and make me think! thanks!
these storys with these musical tunes are .... just wondeful.. so beutiful i want to cry
Very nice video. You take your time thinking about it and you do a great job explaining it. Keep up the great work!
There are daedras, dragons, spells and shouts, who knows if there isn't a supernatural protection on those moons.
Really like that chain of thought ! But:
- If Secunda was to collide with Nirn, You will probably wake up in a Spaceshuttle on that Elderscrolls "Armagedon" series on a mission to the moon (imagine all the gameplay there...) i'll just name my Character "Bruce Willis" and save Nirn.
INTERESTING OBSERVATIONS:
1- Secunda has been exploited Twice so far by Daedric Princes;
- Hircine using the bloodmoon (Secunda) in ES3 where the Nerevarine faces Lycanthropy and Hircine himself, where we can see how Secunda affects directly the Animal aspect in Humans...
(Note: I haven't finished the video yet)
My only issue with the whole "moon getting slingshot into Burn" theory is the fact that unlike real physics which are being properly used in that idea, this world has gods that we know have in the past and some still DO exist. If they didn't want Nirn to be destroyed, as a collective, they could probably keep everything in whatever illogical orbit they wanted.
It would make a cool elder scrolls game where you have to help the gods protect the world from being destroyed by the daedric princes
Sheogarth: SO that's why I like cheese!!
My god man i really love your videos they are soo amazing i get very happy when i see you upload a video
Nice video as always, Rhexx.
(Also this comment is kinda late...)
EDIT: the towers were:
1. The Adamantine Tower (created by the Aedra)
2. The Red Mountain
3. Crystal-like-law (created by the Altmer)
4. The White-gold tower (created by the Ayleids)
5. The Orichalc Tower (created by the Left-hand elves)
6. The Brass Tower aka. the Numidium (created by the Dwemer)
7. The Snow Throat aka. Throat of the World
nirn's two moons, stars and sun are not actual planets or stars. they are fourth-dimensional holes to aetherius and the planets you see in-game are a result of the mortal mind trying to make sense of what it sees.
A movie for the elder scrolls would be great. Sometimes I just want to experience the elder scrolls while sitting back, rather than playing it.
Masterof900: Dude, I was going to say that, but you beat me to it. Good job.
It's amazing how much detail is in this game
Elder Scrolls 6: Secunda. Set in Elsweyr during the falling of the moon, carrying Lorkhan's body. Imagine someone taking control of Lorkhan!
This with the two moons would be a great basic for the story of the next Elder Scrolls.
Dude these videos are so relaxing
Rhexx not knowing the difference between an Eclipse and a New Moon is hilarious
The only thing that would end Mundus would be the Towers failing. And since nearly half of them have been destroyed in the recent few centuries, I wouldn't argue that the possibility of the end of the Elder Scrolls would be in the next millennium or two.
Loving the custom area! This is how I imagine The Black Marsh looks like.
Spoiler alert: This is the mod Moonpath to Elsweyr which takes you to Elsweyr and Elsweyr ONLY.
+TFSG I think
Ohhh I was close but no cigar!
Well until tehres a good mod out there I can only hope for The Elder Scrolls VI: Argonia
Daniel Stancampiano I think there is a mod which actually lets you travel to Black Marsh. But like every province mod it's probably not finished or still in alpha.
TFSG The Khajit prove that the place is Elsweyr. The mod is Moonpath to Elsweyr.
more than likely, before Secundas actually impacted Nirn, it would be ripped apart into a ring system by gravitational forces of both Nirn and Masser. of course, this would still have somewhat cataclysmic effects on Norn's ecosystem and tectonics, but the planet would remain. And eventually the rings would be pulled into Nirn and Masser. Eventually leaving a planet with a single moon.
NO NEED TO FEAR!!! The Space Giants will save Nirn!!!
