We came back from Budapest yesterday. We loved it! I was looking out for you filming in the streets, but didn't meet you unfortunately... 🙃 Thank you for your helpful videos which gave us a lot of ideas and hints for our trip! 👍
I love this video! I spent a lot of my most recent visit (June 2023) in this area! My family lived on Muzeum Street, and went to high school in Kalman Square...we were doing a lot of family research so we were often in this area. It's lovely! And can attest that the cafe at the National Museum is lovely and has delicious cakes!
Great video, Akos! As a former resident of Budapest I know the area quite well, but I wasn’t familiair with the story behind it. Luckily I will be in Budapest soon, so I can take a stroll and eat a cake there 😍
Thank you! Making these is a learning experience for us as well, because we can ask these things like: "Why is it called Palotanegyed" and then research and learn these fun and interesting stories of places :)
We went to Szentendre yesterday, it was a great recommendation and the hidden away Langos place was so good! We also went to the rock bar last night; we're still feeling hungover almost 24 hours later. Thanks for making all these great videos.
I visited Budapest 1 year ago and loved the city. Now I just found this channel and you do such a great work, beautiful content and videos and also can virtually enjoy the city till i visit again.
haha will be there in Dec this year, and I love your videos, you have a great sense of humour, and show many interesting places, plus a great presentation
I'm not very familiar with this district ... yet. I do know the boundaries but I will surely explore it more next time when I'm in BP! Thanks for the suggestion!
As an American living in Budapest, a good burger is a must, and I have to say, Smashy is THAT spot. So good. Ervin Szabo library is also so nice to utilize as a local. We love our Palace district neighborhood!!
Smashy is good but the original, Simon's burger, is just better - at least the buns and the frites. And Simon's burgers are also cheaper when you take the size into consideration.
This video is awesome. Great Photography and History of the buildings and of course the food part is my favorite. I guess its too hard to pick the Top ten things to do Budapest anymore with your videos too many good places to see and eat. Its all your fault LoL 😅
Thank you! Indeed, we don't make it easy, it's really hard to have a short trip in Budapest and cover ALL the top things the city offers :) But hopefully people can better plan their visit and maybe wish to return for more :)
Another terrific video. I loved the history you gave us, for example learning about the Danube flooding. I visited Budapest as a child and I can remember my mother asking me what I thought. As a child I wasn’t terribly impressed because my reply was that everything in the city was so old. 😂 Now as an adult I plan to come next year and that is specifically what I’m interested in, the fabulous architecture that exists in the city. Thank you for your videos. By the way I have learned that your name is Ákos but from all of your videos I do not think I’ve ever heard your lovely wife’s name. You just refer to her as the producer. 😁
Thank you! I can see why you may have refered to the city as being "old" when you were a child, truth to be told many years ago a lot of the buildings were covered in smoke residue and dirt, but over the last decade most have been cleaned and renovated (there is still a lot more to be done 'though :)) Hehhe, indeed I never shout out loud her name. She is Kata :)
Hello, any place to take a shower in the morning when reaching Budapest in the morning. Economical Public shower or pool with that facility? I have Checkin in afternoon but we reach around 8.30 morning. So wanted to take a quick shower and start exploring..
Hey there! Unfortunately it's not really available, the alternatives you could have are to go to one of the few bath-houses (not the big ones, but smaller ones like Dandár, Lukács, Paskál, Csillaghegy, Palatinus, Római fürdő, Pesterzsébeti fürdő etc. I read that few public toilets have showering facility but in all honestly I never saw any. The other option may be to go to a Gym. There is unfortunately no cheap option. I know that on the Airport there should be some showering facility, but that is also likely expensive :( Perhaps in the end, dropping off your luggage at the hotel (they should keep it until check in) and then going straight to a thermal bath and enjoying that to the fullest may be one of the best options (if you planned on going to one).
@@andersbjrnsen7203 Thanks, we went to Palatinus directly. It was great. Will be usefull for some who plan to arrive in Budapest in the morning and have a check-in afternoon..

Nice and informative video ❤...Plz make a detailed one on Gundel Restaurant & Cafe
Hehhe, will see how we could make a detailed video about them :) We went there once for the original Gundel Palacsinta, wasn't disapointed :)
Enjoy all your videos, they are packed full of interesting facts and ideas. Thank you for sharing your vast knowledge of Budapest.🙂
