  • What is art? Herein lies the answer. It is reduced to the life's work of one man, far removed from the glamour of galleries, whose convictions have sustained a commitment that can only be marvelled at.

So, for the record, I am Jim's older brother I am not as nutty as him,(close) so I will give him credit for trying. We tried to do syndicated cartooning when we were young . We both had to go elsewhere to follow our dreams. John Dunsworth and I were soulmates growing up .( proud of that). I became an Engineer in California and Jim became Jim. I am that brother who helped make the log cabin. I am 78 and Jim is now 77, time goes by. could ramble on but you get the idea. Gary Cleveland

The fact that mr. Dunsworth decided to use the platform that he had(his RUclips Channel) to promote his friend's work in the hope that he would sell more and thus had to spend less time painting seascapes and more Archetypes says a lot about the integrity that Mr. Dunsworth had.
Thank you so much to the family to leaving these gems online for us to discover, even if it is many years later. Even if it is only today.
    Warm greetings from the Netherlands🇳🇱

This channel is an extremely raw encapsulation of what Canada is like on a coast line, in a small town. The good, the strange, the ugly. Aside from a bit of an accent, this could have been shot in Sechelt, B.C. I wouldn't have been able to tell the difference. It makes me feel at home :)

Many do, unfortunately most people only see something as art after someone else, usually quite the snob told them it is art. Too much of the artworld's time and energy is wasted because of and by people who use art as a social signifier. "I understand art thus i am superior to you". Real shame as art is something everyone should have access to and everyone should try doing.

A man of true vision is a man who sees the world as magical and full of awesome possibilities, and is at ease with that insight even though those blind to it may mock him. A man of true vision often travels a lonely road, but is okay with that, and is true to his special view of life and his place in it.

Nice job Ms Julie McAlpine, editor - 2 great quotes saved for just before and after credits. This film shows the generosity, in John, for his under-appreciated buddy James, and in James, for the cosmos. Jim's song lyrics (not so much his guitar) put me in mind of Mendelson Joe. The winter setting made Jim's palette look wilder, too.
