I’ve never seen it done like this but it makes perfect sense. I struggle to get the loose strand to go to the other side. It never occurred to me to use more fingers! Thanks for sharing 💜
A lot of the videos I saw were adding the hair to the middle strand, but it was doing some weird cross over and it was confusing lmao 🤣 but this gets the same results 😏
The only advice I would give you is to keep your hands as close to her head as possible, I notice when you were braiding you kind of braid down and away instead of right up on her scalp if that makes sense. Also with each pattern you want to pull it taught to secure the braid before you start a new pattern so it doesn't look loose. And try to grab as little hair as possible as you move down the length of the braid. These three techniques really helped take my braiding to the next level. Hope this helps. You did amazing for your first try!! ❤
Omg this is crazy but this very similar to the way I was able to learn as well!! Only difference is for me I actually scoop the hair under the middle strand I believe (been a while since I did it so I’m remembering😅). But still I’d never seen anyone “add/gather the hair” as they braid like this but I randomly did it months ago but wanted to see if anyone else had this experience!! I cannnnot pinch & grab the “typical” way but this does work! I’m an overhand braider so it’s hard for me to cornrow “regularly” as it is anyway. If anyone wants a hint at what I mean check out Twist’N’Coils Tee here on RUclips I pretty much would prefer braiding like that - overhand/inside/french braiding but still looks underhand/cornrow😅 if that makes sense. Anywho love that you showed this video! It’s nice to see the different methods ppl use to get the same results. There’s no one way, do what works for y’all🙌🏾.
Wow it turned out amazing❤ i noticed your daughter watching a video while you did her hair. Make sure the kids are accessing positive images of people of color i noticed alot of our children are watching white people do positive things on their devices but the dark skin people doing negative things. The programming starts early. A research study was done. This is real.
RUclips keeps turning off my comments! Hopefully you guys will be able to comment
Thank you 🎉 finally able to cornrow
You did very well ❤❤❤
Thank you for this. So helpful!!! ❤
U did good! I remember when I first started French braiding now I'm a pro😅
Your daughter is such a sweetheart. 🥺🥺 Very fun seeing her grow up like this, she was so young when you started your RUclips career. 😍😍
Easiest tutorial I’ve ever seen and very slow and lets me know my mistake bc I overhand all the time! Thank you!!
Thank you I needed this tutorial!!!
This came out great. 💜💜

You did an amazing job om Malia's hair. Keep up the good work
Good job 👏🏾 I learned as a kid watching my mom cornrow my sisters hair. There’s 4 of us. So watching mom, we all practiced on our dolls hair.
That's amazing. Congrats to you. Even though im late. 😂❤❤❤
I swear your daughter is your mini clone!😲😊
Good job beautiful ♥️
I learned how to cornrow about a month ago. And, i have been cornrowing my hair every since.
I’ve never heard this described as underhand braiding. I’ve always known an underhand braid as a French braid. 😳
❤️❤️❤️
Your daughter is an exact replica of you!❤
she is!!
Your daughter is beautiful❤ Thank you for this video, I love it! I am going to try it, I was thinking about learing how to make conrowns a day ago😅
Thank you. Hope it helps!
The beginning and her face lol. She looks just like you!
🔥🔥🔥🔥

Are you able to braid your own hair? Or you haven’t gotten that far lol I think this has been the best tutorial honestly
Not just 🥲 yet
I learned the same way (with an Amazon mannequin head)
