    Take morning sunlight daily for essential vitamin D. Consume veggies of different colours. Using paraben-free and fragrance free shampoo and massaging two times per week with hair oil from litttleextra cocooonion oil. Imp. to remember that hair growth is affected by overall well-being as well as circulation and nutrition.

    So glad you decided to discuss this topic. I have been trying the sulfate free shampoos and have has horrible experiences. My scalp never felt clean and I was constantly oily. Hi Dr. Dray! I just wanted to thank you for changing my life. I know that may sound a little dramatic, but let me explain. I don’t have any serious skin issues. Just occasionally eczema and I’ve been getting a lot of pimples and acne on my face and noticing just general aging (just turned 27.) I’ve been to good dermatologists for just basic cancer screenings and to look at my eczema. But i don’t think they have the time to educate each patient during appointments on the chemistry of skin, and how different products can support it. So I really has no idea how I should be treating me skin. Just sort of band-aiding problems. Long story short my skin is now literally flawless now after finding your videos maybe a month ago. Thank you for making this information accessible, fun to listen to, and very clear. You’re awesome! All of this has really given me confidence and makes me feel empowered for knowing how to treat my skin, which makes up the majority of my body. It just makes me really happy. So thank you. Also ignore the haters. They have no idea what they’re talking about.

      Truth. I've been embarrassed about the discolored sebaceous filaments on my nose since I was a teen. I thought they were blackheads but they never responded to anything I was told to do. My dermatologist didn't think they were serious or important. BUT IT WAS IMPORTANT TO ME! Anyhow, a change in cleansing and adding a few serums and little by little, they are fading. My bumpy chin is looking smoother. Yeah! Oh and my weird sunspot in my eyebrow is fading.

    Thank you Dr. Dray, for another great video on hair care. As a licensed, working hairstylist for 36 years, I appreciate logical, clear information. I would caution anyone purchasing professional (Paul Mitchell, RedKen, etc) products from grocery, drug or discount stores. Manufacturers of professional hair care products DO NOT sell their products to these outlets. They truly do not. They are bought from other sources through diverters. These are large groups of people who go into large salons (like JCPenney salons & others) & attempt to purchase as much as they can to re-package, even dilute & resell for profit. I have seen clients bring in products they purchased from grocery/drug stores that had been tampered with & were not what the bottle said it was. I have dealt with many groups of diverters over the years. Please purchase from an actual salon. Feel free to call Paul Mitchell (no, I do not work for a manufacturer, just an experienced hairdresser) or any other professional manufacturers and ask for their diversion department & they can give you this same info and a lot more! Soap box over!!😁

      Yes. Suave is the clarifying shampoo I use the most. And I do have products on my hair. Silicone free products, but still products that build up. I like it because it does not leave my hair feeling stripped and tacky feeling. I have wavy curly hair and alot of shampoos make my hair just stick and cling so bad, that is is hard to rinse. The suave does not do that so bad. Of course I do have to follow with a light conditioner, in order to be able to comb out the tangles. I do it while wet and coated with conditioner. Then rinse it out. Because I use products on my hair every day, I do wash with the suave or baby shampoo, about twice a week.

    Personally my favourite would be Maria Nila but I'm not sure if they sell their clarifying shampoos to customers anymore....might just be hairdressers only. I'm sure if you know a hairdresser they could hook you up with one if they already work with the brand.

    • @stagnantfox3027
      @stagnantfox3027 4 года назад +1

      @@galato4234 I sadly can't give you any factual answers as I've never worked with henna color treated hair. My intuition tells me (if you want to keep the color longer) wash your hair with a clarifying shampoo or deep cleaning shampoo once a month or two, otherwise wash your hair with normal shampoo in between each of those months. You also obviously would want to wash your hair with something stronger after going to a pool and things like that.
      I personally don't do anything to my hair other than use a little bit of hairspray once in a while and even I use a deep cleanser once every other month since I personally can't afford any truly good conditioners and I end up with slight buildup eventually.
      I hope that helps, even if it's not backed up by pure fact. And just my hairdressers intuition. I know that henna has changed a bit so I'd have to do real life tests to see what effects what.

      Curl girl here, if it’s the chalky feel after dying or heat that you feel. Adding a few drops of the African black soap shampoo from shea moisture to a trusted shampoo that you use. Leave on the shaft and lather every so often. Did a big chop because I thought the sketchy dye my stylist used penetrated too deeply... it was making the strands pin straight😭. Right after the big cut I started clarifying my scalp with a cheap shampoo sans/silicone and wash my hair separate. What’s good for curls is not always good for the scalp. Especially since our products have so many oils that the yeast on our skin loves 🥴

    Your information has been a godsend. I’ve been dealing with some rough dandruff lately and I learned a lot from a video you made talking about the yeast and tinea versicolor, which ironically I developed something that seems like that years ago. It started on my arm and just kind of spread and nothing worked. I gave the head and shoulders a try and it cleared up in a few weeks! My scalp is still pretty dandruffy though but I’ve never tried a scalp scrub, but I’m looking into trying it. I don’t use many products other than heat protectant for styling and dry shampoo when my hair is on day 3 but only if I’m leaving the house. The dandruff is there, but my scalp is oily like my face skin. I’ve used the t/sal before and it helped with some painful irritation I struggled with a long time ago (I was using WEN for a few years, I stopped, went back to regular shampoo and t/sal and that specific thing never happened again). I’ve just learned so much from your videos in the past year that I’ve been watching. Thank you for the work that you do. ❤️

      Do you use it more than once a week? What conditioner do you like to use with it? I just purchased a bottle. It was hard to find, no walmart around me Carry's it. But I was able to get it at Target 👍 I have very hard water I'm hoping this shampoo will get all the mineral deposits out of my hair

    I add a little Neutrogena anti-residue to my other shampoo(whatever I'm using - I use different ones) - in my hand, not in the bottle. It helps get that oily gunk off my scalp!! Glad to know you approve of it!!

    Thanks so much for all of your advice! Your blackhead videos have been so helpful to me. Would you be able to do a further deep dive into oily hair? Ie best shampoos, how to take care of it, etc.

    Great video. You did not mention that the neutrogena shampoo has formaldehyde donors call DMD?
