I have to say this video really depicts an interesting aspect of the show which is brings up the impact of lookism and the halo effect in society but it doesn’t really address it especially the way class intersects with these concepts maybe this is why people said it was fatphobic and underdeveloped
I'm so depressed 😭😭 this series is awesome i can resonate to it 1000 times. im a fat guy i started my fatloss journey before covid I joined gym and lost 10 kgs from 94 to 84 was seeing positive changes but bc of covid i had to leave it i somehow managed to be consistent for 2 months with home workout but after that i regained all the fat i have lost now i weigh 95 kg and 95%of the problem in my life is related to me being fat my skin is detoriated moreover i like a girl and i always think I'll ask her out after being in shape i dont attend any function even freshers and imp occasions like that which are people's childhood teens best memories i try to avoid bc i dont look good i hate my self im the ugliest guy Especially the line i "Sometimes I wonder what if I'm goona spend rest of my life waiting for it to start" l justt love it bc for everything i think I'll do when ill be in shape. I don't put efforts in my looks bc I know im fat for my drees style also i think that ill do that when I'll be in shape im a total underdog .. But I'm starting my fatloss journey again wish me that ill be in my desired shape in 2024 im goona be 20 i can't enter my 20s being fat 20s will be the new beginning in my life. God 🙏 help I have been fatshamed not in a brutal way perhaps but still... In one incident i was with my friends when a guy walked passed me and said "you are so fat ewww" that was beyond embarrassing for me. A stranger who don't even know me said this 😭😭😭 people talk about body shaming but there is lack of representation of male narratives in this discourse Boys even friends just grab you chest says you bad things its traumatic af 😭😭😭😭 i wanna losse my fat but people should help fat people in being healthy not demean them so that they'll be intimidated to even walk out of their house.🥺😔😩😣😖🤧🤧🤧

Though I see why people didn’t like they show they should have gone more into the fat phobia she faced or explored more and be honest about the fact that people treated her better when she got skinny
they literally did that tho. the moral of the show is that people treated her differently based on her weight and it worsened her binge ed and body dysmorphia.
@@pixi3d3ath47 true but I think they should have done it differently we’re it’s either seen as wrong or creepy that people are nicer to her that she is thinner because people don’t like it because they glamorized the fact that people like her thinner and they should have maybe explored more the factors for why she was fat or actually deal with her dysmorphia because they put this to the back burner and they never connect the fact that the reason she is so charming is because she is fat so it might have been interesting if they made tar connec
They did, and people complained that it was "problematic" because it apparently "sent the message that being thin solves all your problems" even though that was not even remotely what they were doing AT ALL.
@@mynameisreallycool1 though I see your point but I think they did sent the message being thin solved your problems since she did not go to jail for hurting the homeless man because she was thin and pretty and her lawyer bob said himself he gave her better legal counsel because she was thin and she got to compete in pageants which improved her status and got a boyfriend also because of it and all the problems that happened once she became thin was because she never dealt with her trauma so maybe they wanted to not present this idea but they maybe were not clear and should have connected it to lookism and disproved that
@@mynameisreallycool1 I also feel that people think the show is fat phobic is that they keep avoiding discussing what her life was like when she was fat problems she had and they only just used the fat suit to make fun of her and what little they say about her life when she was fat does seem stereotypical and not true to patty
I’m super scared I’m going to end up insecure about my body even more then I already am about myself in ways patty might have to deal with I’m sorry for patty that she’s sad about her insecurities I hope I don’t end up into a Eating Disorder of binge eating in the part where she says the part in the mirror about her thighs and stomach I’m sorry for her I’m happy she has a good best friend and when she talks saying how she’s fat is how I feel sometimes when I hear things I don’t want to hear and I’ve been crying hard seeing her cry and her flashbacks on how she was fat is sad I’m sorry for her ❤ she deserves way better ❤ 9:31 I hope he trips and falls on his face and it’s sad she talks about her only friend food which is sad and I feel sad knowing this part makes her cry in ways she’s insecure about i hope and wish she gets better things to herself❤❤❤😢
Or bullshit since she still had a glow up and barely did shit besides kill people like seriously she could have made a difference instead of getting revenge on people she will never see
@@neigeepierrot4694 She was a teenager who still had a severe ED and was then brought into the pagaent world, ofc most teenagers wouldn't kill someone, but they definitely won't think of making a difference with that situation
