When Ginny said she “new first hand” how a parents divorce was. No you don’t your parents divorced before you were even born. Abby had built relationships with both of them and was used to her family being together. Abby told them her problems and Ginny just made it about herself as per usual.

Right? Ginny's situation was VERY different from Abby's. GInny's parents broke up/separated when she was a baby and he only visited a handful of times. He was a guest in her life more than an actual father. Abby's parents were together for YEARS, she developed a natural dependency on them and their being together as a one-unit family and now that's just being ripped apart. Ginny doesn't know what a messy parental divorce is like because she never experienced what a true two-parent family was like, at least not like Abby.
They are all petty but she had all the rights too in that scene bc ginny always gets to rant about her mom and then after Abby was finally able to talk she had the nerve to be petty
whether you liked her or not, she's a very relatable and realistic character. yes, she did things that were wrongs and acted wrong as well, but that's the beauty of her character. from the outside you see her are are like, "ugh she's annoying and jealous of ginny" but as we look into her internal struggles we see why she acts this way. (not saying that she's right to act that way but now we understand why)

It's very clear the show writers know nothing about ADHD. With that "adderall brains" song too, as if adderall makes you high? And turns you into a "zombie"? Adderall and Ritalin are SERIOUSLY helpful for people with ADHD, and the latter has genuinely improved my life so much. It pisses me off that it's painted as this horrible thing that only has negatives and just drugs you up in some way.

I love how Ginny pulled the "It's not always about you." Because it's never about her. It's always Ginny this Max this. For once she came up and said she didn't feel okay, that she was struggling, and she had the audacity to even say "I know from my own experience"? No, she doesn't. She wasn't even born when her parents divorced. She didn't have to deal with the heartbreak of going to two separate houses, of the custody battles, of learning that they're getting remarried. She didn't have to go through anything like this, so no she knows nothing about what it's like to go through watching your parents getting a divorce and being the chess piece. I relate a lot to Abby because I suffer from body dysmorphia and my parents are divorced as well. It was extremely difficult to watch the pain that they both went through. As much as Abby has her moments she's probably the most relatable character in this show.
That’s not exactly true. I also don’t think they were ever married in the first place. Ginny did have to deal with her parents constantly getting together, did constantly have to move houses regardless, and then dealt with her parents splitting up all the time. We also don’t know if Ginny ever had to pick who she got to live with, but it’s probably occurred a few times realistically because that’s what kids who have her kind of parental dynamic go through. Zion and Georgia are civil and that’s great, but Ginny was going through her own parents hooking up when she knew they were going to split at the time and it’s very upsetting and draining to go through. Ginny could relate. She was trying to comfort Abby and tell her she wasn’t alone, but as it’s pointed out a million times, Ginny hasn’t had friends and she’s terrible at comforting people. She was going through some shit when Abby called that meeting and while she was shitty at being there and comforting her, she had a right to stand up for herself and say she did have her own shit going on. It wasn’t all about Abby, and while that’s not how you should say it to somebody who’s struggling, it was true. There were a lot of instances Ginny should’ve been a better friend and she shouldn’t have said it so harshly, but it’s like you forgot their friendship started with Abby shoplifting and when Ginny followed after her, she turned around and told Georgia, “Omg I never knew Ginny would shoplift!” It might’ve seemed like it, but really they weren’t even close. Abby isn’t anything better than Ginny. They’re both bad friends. Ginny and Max are very toxic friends in my opinion but Abby is too. Max makes things about her all the time. I can’t remember a scene where she cared about somebody else’s problems. Honestly, the whole, “not everything is about you” thing should’ve been directed at her. I can’t really say much about Norah because nobody really knows anything about her but the whole MANG thing was just a bunch of bratty girls hanging out together and influencing each other’s behaviors to be worse. A lot of people relate to Ginny, a lot of people relate to Abby, a lot of people relate to Maxine. It really just depends on your personal life. Abby’s not a terrible character by any means and maybe with the exception of Norah, she was the only friend in the group who made an effort to see what the other girls were going through, but you can’t expect people to be there for you when you haven’t mentioned what’s going on, and blowing up when you finally do isn’t okay.

The only person I think trying to make it about themselves was Max which she does every scene she’s in. “Yeah and I had sex!” is definitely making it about yourself. Norah was avoiding them because of her mother and Max was solely focused on her relationship. Abby accused them of being bad friends (which, let’s be honest, they are) but Ginny had a reason to be absent and mentioned it. She did have her own shit going on and she was right. Ginny is in no way any more likable than the rest of them, but this scene being a reason isn’t it. 3) I was thinking about how Ginny knew and didn’t say anything about Abby’s parents splitting, but it’s not like she did it to BE. neglectful. There were multiple occasions Ginny realized Abby looked sad and tried to be there for her when the other girls were content on ignoring her. 4) They WERE friends after the first two or so episodes. The fact Abby made the comment pretending she was innocent as if she wasn’t the instigator to Ginny’s mother to make her mother more upset was just a bitch move. She could’ve just walked away. She literally had no reason to say that to Georgia. 5) We know some basic stuff about Norah but we don’t know close to anything about her home life. Almost all of her seasons have something to do with MANG or her with her boyfriend. 6) Abby is still toxic and problematic in her own way. Not as much as the rest, but she’s had moments she’s been in the wrong. Don’t justify her actions because you find her character relatable. Yeah, she deserved better, but she’s not that great of a person.

I know Abby could be unlikeable in S1 sometimes but I honestly understood her from the beginning. Everyone treats Abby badly, because she wasn't welcoming to Ginny, but she didn't know her. She is not like Maxine, super extravagant, to see a bit "crazy" in her character, I mean. She doesn't seem to like the change and I think asking her to be friends with Ginny has completely ruined her. In addition to these family problems, she has eating disorders and really no one is paying attention to her. When she asked for help, like once, everyone ignored her. Clearly, I don't understand their group. Ok, Abby is tough in her actions, words, but she's being honest. First of all Abby is SOO healthy as a weight if anything it’s underweight in fact, plus girl thick thighs save lives I prefer it over super thin legs :) (mind you both are beautiful!)

I love how Ginny pulled the "It's not always about you." Because it's never about her. It's always Ginny this Max this. For once she came up and said she didn't feel okay, that she was struggling, and she had the audacity to even say "I know from my own experience"? No, she doesn't. She wasn't even born when her parents divorced. She didn't have to deal with the heartbreak of going to two separate houses, of the custody battles, of learning that they're getting remarried. She didn't have to go through anything like this, so no she knows nothing about what it's like to go through watching your parents getting a divorce and being the chess piece. I relate a lot to Abby because I suffer from body dysmorphia and my parents are divorced as well. It was extremely difficult to watch the pain that they both went through. As much as Abby has her moments she's probably the most relatable character in this show.

That’s not exactly true. I also don’t think they were ever married in the first place. Ginny did have to deal with her parents constantly getting together, did constantly have to move houses regardless, and then dealt with her parents splitting up all the time. We also don’t know if Ginny ever had to pick who she got to live with, but it’s probably occurred a few times realistically because that’s what kids who have her kind of parental dynamic go through. Zion and Georgia are civil and that’s great, but Ginny was going through her own parents hooking up when she knew they were going to split at the time and it’s very upsetting and draining to go through. Ginny could relate. She was trying to comfort Abby and tell her she wasn’t alone, but as it’s pointed out a million times, Ginny hasn’t had friends and she’s terrible at comforting people. She was going through some shit when Abby called that meeting and while she was shitty at being there and comforting her, she had a right to stand up for herself and say she did have her own shit going on. It wasn’t all about Abby, and while that’s not how you should say it to somebody who’s struggling, it was true. There were a lot of instances Ginny should’ve been a better friend and she shouldn’t have said it so harshly, but it’s like you forgot their friendship started with Abby shoplifting and when Ginny followed after her, she turned around and told Georgia, “Omg I never knew Ginny would shoplift!” It might’ve seemed like it, but really they weren’t even close. Abby isn’t anything better than Ginny. They’re both bad friends.
Ginny and Max are very toxic friends in my opinion but Abby is too. Max makes things about her all the time. I can’t remember a scene where she cared about somebody else’s problems. Honestly, the whole, “not everything is about you” thing should’ve been directed at her. I can’t really say much about Norah because nobody really knows anything about her but the whole MANG thing was just a bunch of bratty girls hanging out together and influencing each other’s behaviors to be worse. A lot of people relate to Ginny, a lot of people relate to Abby, a lot of people relate to Maxine. It really just depends on your personal life. Abby’s not a terrible character by any means and maybe with the exception of Norah, she was the only friend in the group who made an effort to see what the other girls were going through, but you can’t expect people to be there for you when you haven’t mentioned what’s going on, and blowing up when you finally do isn’t okay.

2) I don’t agree and I already explained my reasoning. The only person I think trying to make it about themselves was Max which she does every scene she’s in. “Yeah and I had sex!” is definitely making it about yourself. Standing up to your friend saying your friendship is over because you’ve been busy with your family life isn’t the same. Norah was avoiding them because of her mother and Max was solely focused on her relationship. Abby accused them of being bad friends (which, let’s be honest, they are) but Ginny had a reason to be absent and mentioned it. She did have her own shit going on and she was right. It isn’t just about Abby. Ginny is in no way any more likable than the rest of them, but this scene being a reason isn’t it.
3) I was thinking about how Ginny knew and didn’t say anything about Abby’s parents splitting, but it’s not like she did it to BE. neglectful. She didn’t mention it because she thought it might upset her more and Abby didn’t tell her first. There were multiple occasions Ginny realized Abby looked sad and tried to be there for her when the other girls were content on ignoring her.
4) They WERE friends after the first two or so episodes. The fact Abby made the comment pretending she was innocent as if she wasn’t the instigator to Ginny’s mother to make her mother more upset was just a bitch move. She could’ve just walked away. She literally had no reason to say that to Georgia.
5) We know some basic stuff about Norah but we don’t know close to anything about her home life. Almost all of her seasons have something to do with MANG or her with her boyfriend.
6) Abby is still toxic and problematic in her own way. Not as much as the rest, but she’s had moments she’s been in the wrong. Don’t justify her actions because you find her character relatable. Yeah, she deserved better, but she’s not that great of a person.

I know Abby could be unlikeable in S1 sometimes but I honestly understood her from the beginning. Yes, she did wrong things to Ginny like the shoplifting thing but you could tell she was worried about losing her friends to her which I totally relate to. Her problems were the most relatable in the show to me, and I think she was extremely misunderstood by the fandom, as she was always called a racist too. I love what they did with her in S2 and I'm hoping they go more into her next season. She's a good friend and a broken character ♡

Everyone treats Abby badly, because she wasn't welcoming to Ginny, but she didn't know her. She is not like Maxine, super extravagant, to see a bit "crazy" in her character, I mean. She doesn't seem to like the change and I think asking her to be friends with Ginny has completely ruined her. In addition to these family problems, she has eating disorders and really no one is paying attention to her. When she asked for help, like once, everyone ignored her. Clearly, I don't understand their group. Ok, Abby is tough in her actions, words, but she's being honest. She does not pretend, she says what there is to say, even if it means hurting, of course, but it is in her nature. But really, she's the least selfish of the bunch. She offered to help Ginny, she worried about not seeing Norah anymore and she was more than there for Max. And what in return? Nothing. Ginny deserved this slap. And frankly, everyone is way too patient with her. Sorry about the novel, but yes I love Abby. I identify with her a lot.
