Well the mother characters have original clay models so it definitely fits well
My friend was a part of the development team for Crypt of the Necromancer. They had this idea to create a Zelda themed one for fun and realized they were on to something and it would sell. They made a demo and sent it to Nintendo to get their thoughts and blessings to license out the IP. This game was actually created and is out titled Cadence of Hyrule
. Please do the same thing with this! Get the word out.

Problems lie with the (brilliant) fan translation, I think. Unless they want to localize it from the ground up the Nintendo suits won't like it one bit.

A lot of the visual gags in the original are insanely well done for a game made with such hardware limitations. Guess its true that limitations sometimes bring out true creativity.

Honestly a remake like this would be the best way to get mother 3 outside of japan, if the only things stopping them are things like the magypsies. It wouldn't feel like the same game if they did change that, obviously, but if they did want to release it outside of japan and stuff like that was the only issue, a remake would be an amazing way to bring it over. (Though something tells me they don't want to change anything about the game, so if mother 3 is ever going to come to anywhere outside japan, it'll be a while.)

Nintendo doesn’t even realize how much potential the Mother series has. I think it would be super popular with newer gamers today. This just shows it’s potential. Nicely done!
The problem is not with Nintendo, the problem is with the series creator... as he considers his work, the mother series, concluded.

Your Mother 3 videos has really gotten me into the Earthbound series, I started playing the first game 3 days ago and I love it so far :) Keep up the amazing work!
You should play the fangame Mother Cognitive Dissonance when you're done with all 3!
I would actually recommend starting with the 2nd game first (Earthbound) and and playing the 1st as a prequel, since most people don't like mother 1 that much but if you love it then totally do that!
Like some other comments mentioned. If you get discouraged with Mother 1, Earthbound is best to start with.
You should save yourself a lot of trouble and start with earthbound or mother 3. Mother 1 is a good game, but it has some of the worst, most unfair grinding and difficulty spikes I’ve ever seen in an RPG

This is the best 2D to 3D translation I’ve ever seen. Hands down. Legit better than any official series or game that’s ever done it. You absolutely NAILED the feel of the original and it still looks amazing and modern. Amazing modelling , textures , and animation
This could be genuinely pitched to Nintendo. With the amount of people cheering this fantastic tribute on I think it would be possible. The Crypt of the Necrodancer + Zelda crossover was a dream come true, so something as ambitious as this would absolutely light a fire under their asses. Go get 'em.
They should show it to the creator of mother 3 and see what he thinks
@@BlastKetchup the director of Mother 3 has recently expressed interest in a localization from Nintendo, so I don’t think he would be involved in any rerelease but I’m sure he would appreciate it
@@BlastKetchup Itoi is very happy with all the fan creations surrounding the mother series. If you look on his twitter you can see him reposting mother stuff almost every day, including the tweet teasing the original tribute video!

The emotional rollercoaster from knowing how awesome this is, to realizing it's not real.
This is AMAZINGLY well-crafted. The animations, the world, the enemy encounters. These are incredibly well realized!! You guys really captured the essence of Mother series in this. SERIOUSLY THOUGH, this style even as a new IP and spiritual successor would be mind-blowing and something that I'd absolutely want to play!

Ever since Link's Awakening's remake on Switch, I had imagined a remake of the entire MOTHER trilogy using a claymation-style aesthetic as its base.

It’s amazing how you could capture the style of mother and transition it to 3D and not only keep its artistic charm but arguably enhancing it by 1400!

You're assuming Nintendo doesn't completely have their head up their ass like they do these days. Make something new, or even reboot something? Nah, just rerelease a 20 something year old game and charge full price for it.

for Nintendo to be interested in doing the remake of mother 3 they should not release a demo on PC, since for that reason Nintendo blocks fangames, the most advisable thing would be to show the project to Nintendo directly, the easiest thing would be in Nintendo of America. ..I think

The sound design is incredible with all of the subtle noises and attention to detail with each scene.
Part of me feels like they are lying about this not being a game. Imagine they completely finish this, and drop it on the internet with no announcement to avoid a cease and desist from finishing the development.

Y’know, the Link’s Awakening remake really reminded me of Mother/EarthBound. Specifically, LA’s toy-like ascetics reminded me of the Mother/EarthBound art using clay figures. This also really reminds me of that. Excellent, faithful work!
There are no official 3d Mother assets. The clay renders you are thinking of are don't by a fan.

I love that it kinda comes off like a claymation. Not sure if I've every personally seen that done in a game. Please correct me if I'm wrong because I'd love to know if any other games have adopted a similar style.
kirby and the rainbow curze goes for claymation right down to having a lower framerate to simulate stop-motion but that's the only other game i can think of with a similar aesthetic 😔

the only point in which i would say i actually like the original game more is on the sunflower fields part, most shadows seem to have been removed (probably for authenticity) and it kind of lacks that magical feeling i think it deserves, i think the clouds should have been made fuzzier (i don't know if that's actually the way to say it) like the original game and what i thought of was a lighting similar to the one seen in the skies of the botw sequel trailer, though that minor problem of course doesn't remove how amazing this project is and i'd say most of the other parts shown are actually a 10/10, my favorite moment was definitely the Claus drago play-fighting, the lighting is just amazing, the textures really give it that clay feel and the music (chords i think?) in that exact moment really make it feel beautiful.
I see what you mean by the fuzzy clouds. In the original, they go kinda...bzzt.

I just want to point out the incredible attention to detail at 3:00 of the Mecha Drago missing a fang on the right side of their mouth

This has raised the bar for fangames. It’s beautiful. Sadly though I’m expecting it to be taken down.
Has it though? While very impressive none of it is actually in a playable state. Its simply a proof of concept fan animation and not an actual fangame, which would've taken the team far more time and effort to develop.
Nintendo doesn't fully or even mostly own mother so they can't take fan projects down without Itoi's go ahead which he would never give

This video just shows the amount of care and love put in to this fan trailer. Stuff like the enemy attacks in battles being fully animated, Lucas hugging Boney, and the more cinematic camera angles it all shows the amount of effort put in to this recreation.
The flying bird cage was one of my favorite parts of the game. Thank you for including it.

I never comment on RUclips videos, because I'm not a crazy person, but I had to here. This is such a stellar example of how to improve upon an older title visually, while absolutely nailing the vibe and artistic integrity of the original. So many people miss the mark, whether it be an official remaster/remake doing almost nothing or completely smearing the vision of the original, or an overproduced fan video that looks like they just found out what Global Illumination and bloom are. But this is a god damned work of art. You killed it. Wish there were more eyes like yours on remaster/remake projects, hope you guys find success whatever you go on to do.
