i want to take this moment to acknowledge how good choopo has gotten at drawing backgrounds
Listing the references, I see:
- Upside-down pyramid from Super Mario Odyssey
- Bouncy house from that one Penguins of Madagascar scene
- Gerudo Town and the Accompanying Shrine
- PVZ Cactus
- I think that’s just a corpse in the background. Or, on second thought, perhaps it’s the rest of the cow.
- Cow Skull. Standard desert fare. Possibly a Moblin skull? (Reminds me of an episode of Phineas and Ferb where Doof points out how odd it is that deserts have so many cow skulls but never the rest of the skeleton. Likely not a reference to that random scene though.)
And the good thing is it still looks like it was done in Microsoft Paint, true to brand
I commented it on choopo's uno video and he replied.
The strange rock formations that are narrower at the bottom with the water flowing down remind me of the fogbound lake location from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers. But it might be a coincidence.
Oh, actually I think that’s what you said was Gerudo Town. There are similar structures there.
Fun fact: Frank actually shares his name with the antagonist of the movie Donnie Darko, which is about a guy who gets psychologically tormented by a man wearing a bunny mask. There's no way that it isn't a direct reference to that movie.

@@masekiibo I know that, but isn't it a little weird that one of the major playable characters is seemingly an almost direct reference to such a violent horror movie? I mean, yes, The Sims 2 (which released in 2004) had the Social Bunny NPC, which was also a reference to Donnie Darko, but the Social Bunny was basically just a hallucination caused by lack of social interaction, and was definitely far from the creepiest thing that game had to offer.

@@RandomghoulZX donnie darko is not a horror movie nor is it violent, certainly not when compared to other R rated movies. it's a pretty iconic movie and the version of "mad world" that features in it was a meme around the time of the game's release.

Can we just appreciate how *_dedicated_* that guard Ted Lutz is to his job? Like, most people would've given up after a few minutes or miles but that legend follows the surfer like a *_hawk_* without even getting tired, and his dog is the same as well! Both of them even resort to *_floating_* in order to catch you.
He is one of the most powerful fictional characters in existence. Ted solos the entire DBZ franchise.

Not going to lie the Subway Surfers web series mostly left us in the dust basically it gave us these lore things like it was doing to a show about kids going things to more of a lore story based so yeah kind of disappointed that no news about it, it felt like it would continue giving us more of it but we just have to wait or not they probably secretly canceled it

Yeah. The interesting part about Subway Surfer webseries is that it makes Frank looks a lot sinister compared to his in-game counterpart.
In their 10th Anniversary video they announced that they actually planned 7 seasons of 20 minute long episodes worth of the series but it is all on hold until they can fully plan the series and increase the size of their production team

This is the first time a game tie-in show actually has my interest in a way. Like the Subway Surfers cartoon looks pretty nice and the worldbuilding is bizarre but neat and actually kinda makes sense.
I remember feeling such a THRILL every time I saw my mums Facebook friends high-scores disappear as I absolutely DEMOLISHED them at the game they probably only played once… but either way they were absolutely trash and I could probably destroy them still 😎

A few weeks ago I downloaded Subway Surfers after years of not playing it and have been noticing the lore, so it’s great to see this brought to attention.

I think my favorite part of Choopo videos is seeing what wacky new location they’ve found themselves in with only the minimal amount of context.
huh... you know it can work, kids discover ancient alien tech, do kid things with it and security guard actually ends up protecting them by just showing up...
that's it, that's all it needs to "work" for at least 2 seasons.

Subway is my favorite resturant. Also, as an Apple Arcade member, I just need to say- Subway Surfers Tag has an unbeatable progression system, since the game is endless, and you have to “win” to get to another level- which is impossible.

This is awesome! I love the Subway Surfers franchise so much, I wish that they had continued the animated web series, but they didn't and I'm so sad that they didn't! I had thought that they did for a while while I was watching it, I was watching the Season 1 episodes, but I'm just really bummed out that they didn't get to continue it and after I watched the season 1 finale, I needed more and I was waiting and waiting and waiting, and nothing ever came of it, nothing ever came to be! I had given up hope, and I have the notion that season 2 is now dead! Thanks for nothing, Kiloo! I loved the animated series and I really hope to see more of it one day! If Kiloo gives the creators a chance to continue it, and then they could add more characters from the game into the storyline, like the goth girl that you can play as in the game into the series, because I really like her, she's really fast in game! And I would've loved to see what they do with her and how they introduce her in the show! That'd be pretty sweet! But for now, I guess we'll just be stuck waiting for it to happen until then!

You know, despite never playing Subway Surfers, and knowing it simply as a mobile game, after seeing that animated series, I’ve somehow managed to come to care about these kids, and I’m actually interested and invested to see a continuation of their story! The animation and character designs also looked surprisingly really good for a show like that! Thank you bringing this lore to our attention choopo! I can’t wait to see more to come from my childhood!

I’ve been a fan of subway surfers since I was 8 10 years now, Which is just kinda weird to say, This video was really entertaining and funny, Also last year they have been adding somewhat some lore to the game with a series called “Rivals” which you can view on there official instagram account, Other then that, There’s not a lot & They should really also focus a lot more on the lore of the game, Also when are we ever getting a season 2 of the animated series cause the series was actually pretty decent? I want to know more about the other characters.

Edit: Also it cause me to find obscure content about theories involving him too, but I think the majority of them become lost media since I’ve seen few fan works of his AU selves(particularly the well known artist who used to do Frank content from that fandom but she’s now making webcomics recently)
