My masters would be impressed...Rare it is for one to come to terms with their regrets so completely, yet you seem to have managed it. What darkness must one wade through to achieve such a thing?". Steal Soul Jin says more when you talk to her? (she may be a robot or other void being??? based on her talking sounds?) when you have the kings brand "...A King, the tiny It becomes. Jinn knows that mark, but cannot bow. Jinn's masters are other... minds other... Not order. Not order, they seek." Jinn also has this to say when you talk to her after you have the void heart "his It... A rare It. Has not seen many, so vulnerable, but triumphant. Makes Jinn feel a thing... surprise? Jinn misjudged... The It is not inferior. Perhaps... different? Different to Jinn. More complete? Different... like masters?". What this implies is ANYONES guess. But Silksong should answer that.
Yeah the whole time line of the Weavers means Silksong HAS to be a sequel. We Know that Herrah and the other deep nest bugs were in the area that would become Hallownest before the Pale king came along. According to the physical Wander's Journal book from Fan Gamer and Midwife the Weaver came to Hallownest. Judging from the dream nail dialogue from the dead Weavers they Weavers we there for Hornets birth because they were aware of the bargain Herrah made along with their spools of silk and seals of binding being present in both the White Palace and Temple of the Black Egg. So the Weavers likely came to Hallownest some time during its prime. We also know from both Midwife and The Wander's Journal book that the infection recently reached deep nest and the Weavers recently left. By recently its assumed to mean right before the player Knight enters Hallownest in the opening animation. What else take place around that time? The Quirrel comic meaning Hornet also has to be in Hallownest right before the start of the game. Silksong CAN NOT be a prequel because the Weavers did not leave Hallownest until right before the start of Hollowknight. Also the are the Edge magazine quotes "Hornet lacking her traditional strength" and "The weaver or what remains of them" These statements make the most sense if Silksong is a sequel. As for what ending I think Silksong will take place after. While it may be Dream No More. I really really think it will be Embrace The Void Delicate Flower variant. Why? All the other endings are relatively self contained and answer most questions. Embrace The Void Flower ending has ten million and one questions. What's the deal with the delicate flower? where did the shade beast go? What happens to the uninfected Hollowknight? What happened to the knight did it change into something new or become a part of something old a little of both? All of which Silksong could potentially answer or follow up on

There's not gonna be any DLC for silksong, it's one of the reasons why the game is taking so long, since they want the game to already be 100% completed when it comes out In HK they had to do DLCs because of money, but that clearly isn't an issue anymore
Also for the prequel or sequel thing i highly suspect that silksong will be a sequel to either the third or the fifth ending. My theory is that hornet was captured while either looking for a way to heal the knight or the place the Coffin teleported to (in the ending where you gave a delicate flower to the godseeker)

Theory: you'll be able to revisit hallownest in silksong, probably after the end of the game as a sort of "endgame kingdom", it would be after the P5 ending so all of hallownest would be filled with void from the Shade Lord, all of the enemies would be void-themed and it'd be completely destroyed Also, there'll be a second playable character in silksong, since one of the kickstarter goals that TC didn't achieve for hollow knight was a third playable character, and considering that now they have all the money in the world, I see it somewhat possible, specially cuz at some point they designed a system for hornet to be a second playable character in hollow knight, so instead of scrapping that system why not reusing it in silksong with a new playable character?
I commented a few days ago but apparently I wrote WAAAY too much and RUclips deleted my comment lol. Thankfully, I took a copy so here it is again. I see how and Grimm could reach out to Hornet. Regardless of the Troupe's end, NKG appears in P5 alongside Hornet, both of which recognize they are in a dream (at least she partially does). This means that Grimm has a chance to come back to life (either if the Troupe was banished or Grimmchild becomes the new Grimm, he dies). For the map, I personally think it's twice as big. A Reddit user who met Ari (IIRC) said that it takes him about as much time to go through Pharloom as it does for Hallownest. Hornet is obviously way faster than the Knight (I assume twice as fast), so she can cover more distance within less time. I hope this means that Team Cherry condensed more content while shortening the amount of time it takes for us to traverse. Team Cherry did say that all endings are canon, but that was before the final DLC was made. That's why I believe the non-flower Embrace the Void ending is canon. Considering that she waits for the Knight in front of the Black Egg Temple, she can probably escape up the Dirtmouth well before the Void catches up.
No evidence for this theory, but I personally believe the Silksong is something like the Voidheart. Maybe it's like the Kingsoul, a powerful object that generates infinite Soul (or Silk). (Disclaimer: this theory becomes fan fiction lol.) Since I believe the P5 ending is canon, I believe that Silksong is built around how Hornet learns that the way to deal with the Shade Lord is to get a Delicate Flower. Confessor Gigi could've told her that, or my preferred alternative, Elderbug would scare the Void because he holds a flower. This would be how the Dirtmouthians ward off the Shade Lord and limit it to just Hallownest. This might also happen after a fight with the Hollow Knight (where at the end, it remembers Hornet and helps her escape the Void by sacrificing itself?). As for how all this would happen, Team Cherry could make a Hornet DLC where we explore Hallownest as her. (Additionally, it was be a demo for Silksong and a complete fulfilling of a promise.) With all that delusion out of the way, Hornet would go out searching for where the Delicate Flower grows, and would get captured by Pharloom cultists which just so happen to lead her to where she needs to go (Neat, I guess). Skip forward to the end of Silksong, and now Hornet can return to Hallownest to finally defeat the Shade Lord. Before that, Hornet actually becomes Void intentionally to become stronger (self harm imminent though), so when she returns to Hallownest, the Shade Lord let's her join the Void conglomerate, which is when she "activates" the Delicate Flower. (Extreme delusion time.) In the end, it would be shown how Hornet and the Hollow Knight are both cleansed of the Void alongside the entire kingdom, but Little Ghost escapes the P5 dream as just a Void being with no body. Together, it and the Hollow Knight become one to restore both of their powers. Finally, the Pale Prince can rule Hallownest where it's revealed all the NPCs were actually safe. (And Elderbug would be the Dirtmouth mayor for no reason other than that I'm biased.)
Returning to reality, I have 2 theories of my own (free of delusion). 1. We see in the Xbox trailer that Hornet rides up a big elevator (possibly up the Citadel). Literally a few scenes later we see the same exact elevator fail lol. This could send her down the infrastructure of Pharloom; the place with all the pipes and the second Lace fight. 2. In the demo, we see that Hornet's cloak is listed as an item in the inventory for some reason. My theory is that it's because it gets upgraded later on in the game like the Nail in Hollow Knight (maybe the cloak is an item temporarily and got revamped too look like the Nail and Soul Vessels in Hollow Knight's inventory). This might explain why Team Cherry shared so little images of the game. Sure, they might want to avoid spoilers (unlike what they did with Hollow Knight lol), but it might be because the cloak itself gets changed drastically in mid-game areas.
I think we may very well see another wyrm. After all " *Wyrms* bull bugs into their thrall, till ages pass and kindoms fall" Of course wyrms aren't the only thing that can create kingdoms, but who's to say. And speaking of Mr. Mushroom, I am almost certain we will see him again.
Just imagine if hornet is stolen before the fall of hallownest! It'd be cool to see pale king in the game, but not quiet good, because like you said, they couldn't steal the princess of a kingdom with a powerful king, but i really love pale king, that's why I'm saying it's cool. Nice vid❤❤❤
On the Timeline, the sealing of the Knight is missing. its pretty clear where it belongs, between hornet and the shell cracking, but itd be nice to be there just for completion

If silksong is a sequel, I think they will leave the ending ambiguous, which is kind of a bummer because both godmaster endings end on cliffhangers, so we may never know what happened to the hollow knight seen briefly in both variations
Do you think the Hollow Knight at the end of the Dream No More ending is being controlled by strings just like the bugs in Pharloom? Like whoever is throwing the curse on Pharloom is spreading it's dominance further into other kingdoms, maybe that's why Hornet decided to go there

i highly doubt the first boss skip theory i think it functions in the same way mossknight arenas work. you can instantly trigger the boss fight by disturbing the mossknight/boss but it will trigger when you try to go through the gate on the other side anyway and the other gate might be closed.
If silksong is a sequel then won't Hornet lose her memories when she leaves Hallownest? This is what happened to Quirrel, so I wonder if Hornet will be the same. Probably not since she's the daughter of the pale king- a higher being. I also wonder if there is a higher being in Pharloom that gives intelligence and sapience to the bugs( similar to the pale king), except maybe they did this through Silk and Song.
considering the fact that Quirrel used a dreamers mask to protect his memories (kinda, it didn’t work super well lol) i think Hornet should keep her memories since she is the daughter of a dreamer and a pale being.
I feel like Silksong could fit as a sequel for all Hollow Knight endings. It's very likely that the weavers are the ones who wanted Hornet to come to Pharloom due to her being the daughter of Herrah. And since the Weavers know a lot about Seals of Bindings and magic, it's very likely that they'd know a way to break into The Black Egg Temple in the Sealed Siblings ending. In all but one ending, Hornet is in a weakened state (either from being in the Black Egg Temple, or from fighting the Hollow Knight) so would be easier to capture, I mean how do you think Hornet was captured? She's a fierce warrior and is part Pale being, she's not a bug you'd be able to capture.
I dislike preqels. I really hope that TC changed their mind about "all endings are canon" and made only one true. Of course it would be defeating radiance in black egg.
Look at the way the eggs are laid out in the arena, even the ones hanging on the ceiling, it's a tight platforming level design to the exit CLEARLY intentionally made to be possible to dodge if you are experienced with the move-set
because Team Cherry confirmed that Silksong is a sequel in the sense that it is a second game after Hollow Knight, just like Red Dead Redemption 2 is a sequel in a game sense but the actual story of the game takes place before Red Dead Redemption 1, so the actual story of Silksong might be before Hollow knight
