I feel like my main takeaway here is that Furious Blade of Ansbach is the hard counter to the extremely powerful meta option of using Black Flame Tornado as a neutral opener from two yards away

I've spent a lot of time trying to make this spell as viable as possible and made two videos on it. You'll see you can do some crazy things with it and ways to make it connect. But all in all I agree with Saint, it's just a cool spell and that's it. All it needs to make it godlike is either some hyper armor, faster cast time or longer reach.
The build I made for your covenant is still one of my favorite builds to play! I run into other family from time to time too, it’s always nice to have a little reunion. I would love to see more player covenant stuff happen, that was peak Elden Ring to me.

So Saint invading at level 60 with an end game incantation makes me feel a bit better about terrorising noobs at level 30 +5 in Stormveil as the Lamenter using hefty fire pots and Beast Claws with Poison Flower Blooms Twice AoW.
I know it probably isn't like this for most people but I'll say this if I got invaded by something that wild looking when I was a souls noob back in the og Demon's Souls I would have thought it was the coolest thing ever.
Saint you really ought to put an occult flamberge on this build just to have it. Literally have a great sword with over 100 blood buildup with also no sacrifice in damage

Watching your vids got me back into PvP. I’m practicing being the invader instead of the invaded. 3v1’s make you get pretty creative. So much fun, and so many laughs when you invade people. I’m not the best but I have fun and that’s all that matters. I laugh when I die too.
It’s one of those spells you can throw out as a finisher or to apply some pressure, it’s not gonna wipe a gank squad or anything but it’s not gonna be expected
If anything, the DLC strengthened mid level builds to deal with these OL babysitting powerhouses. I have a 40 that I ran through the DLC with and it’s samurai starter. Radagon soreseal, Millicent, and curseblade mask give me all the dex I need without touching it, which is 30. After that, I just pumped vig and sprinkled into endurance. 46 vig, 20 end, 17 str, and 30 dex. I have a lightning slash GK and I’m cleaning up liurnia of these babysitters with a comfortable 1606 health pool.
All it took for me to like Ansbach was him calling the player "righteous" and it's not that he just compliments you but he says it with sincerity. And he doesn't sit around bad mouthing the others, he might serve a guy who lives in a blood swamp hell world and looks like a demon but Ansbach is alright with me
so basically... "if you want it to be". like, it isn't good on its own and won't play it for you (carian slicer, og stars of ruin, moonveil, comet), nor is it a total trainwreck that isn't worth even casting (... mantle of thorns), but if you learn how to incorporate it as another attack in your arsenal, it can be a good addition and can compliment a build. i could see this being a wonderful distance closing addition to a large weapon build, and it seems to compliment light greatswords very well (i think your uncharged heavy rollcatches if you land a charged Ansblade?) i like that, i'll give it a shot.

The scared blood boosts attack and arcane by 10 and attack and another 10 arcane on blood loss. And doyvke slash is good because its just corpse piler without the blood entrails
It seems like Saint’s definition of “bad spell” is just a spell that you have to set up with a different spell or attack, not something you can just cast from neutral
I mean, it makes sense. The general approach to PvP for spells is that the more versatile and reliable it is, the better. There are plenty of spells that are in neutral and they’re unfortunately what everything else has to compete with for a spell slot in pvp.
I don’t understand how twinking at 60 works in this game, I can’t respec to a lower level at rennala and there’s no way I’m beating consort radahn at level 60 to invade like this

I LOVE 40 to 60 invasions bc you can just max Vigor and minimum stats for weapons n armor and just havs more HP than the host and his buddy combined
