I kid you not, I had a plumber re-plumb a whole house and install the flange so out of alignment, you can't line up bolts to set a toilet on it. I seriously have no idea what he was thinking. I will be doing this soon! Good job!

I had to do this exact thing a few years ago. However, I was dealing with cast-iron piping. It was not fun and it took me over a week to figure it all out.

@@DIYPlumbingGuy I have this problem with cast iron. How do you recommend that I add an extension/cut it so that I can add a new flange like you do in the video?

Done a few over the years. Need to have plan A, B and C, have time to chase parts and tools. Know where the main shut off is, toilet shut off valve many times don't shut off complexly if its been a few years. Sometimes need to replace part of the subfloor, one time had to do the whole bathroom. All new subfloor, tiles, rotted joists, walls then a complete shower. Some of the rot went to the next room. Then under the crawl space in the adjacent bathroom, tub was leaking. Never know if you don't go under. Didn't seem like it ever ended.

Oh, you're absolutely right! As you can tell from the video, every DIY project comes with its unexpected twists. After pulling out the old flange, I had a moment of "Oops, another trip to the store." 😅🛒 It's true, once you start with subfloor, it can turn into a whole adventure. But hey, that's the fun of it, right? Thanks for being part of this community and supporting the channel! 👍🛠️
