    It's so special being able to see some of his work, you can see the design cues across his works. It gives you an idea of what he was trying to achieve with your villa, a very stylish man.👍❤

    Wonderful exhibit of Aroldi’s work. Interesting to see his palette and renderings of classical elements with the decorative arts of the time incorporated. Truly a gifted man. You are lucky to be able to live in a villa he designed!

    Great episode!! Amazing to see the progress you’ve made! I like the idea of lighting the arches and opening up the wall. I guess the flooring upstairs is tongue in groove? You will have to cut a line over to the middle of the floor and separate it from the tongue inserted into the groove, then lift up a strip of wood to get to that area and then glue it back?? Only a guess on my part!!?? 😅 but Bravo for all the work you’ve done with your father!! He must enjoy it?? Also, nice way to end the episode with the exhibition!!😮 Blessings to you for what you do for homeless dogs!!❤

    Apologies in advance as this will no doubt be a long comment (I am a motormouth/gobshite 😂).
    Hi 👋 I am a new subscriber, I came via the comments section on the Villa Oliva channel 😊
    I have just finished binge watching your channel and am just loving everything so far.
    I am a disabled mum to 3 children with Autism 2 of whom are severe with other problems. Needless to say I don't get out much (hence being a bit talkative 😂). My relaxation is watching RUclips and channels like this and Doctor Who (this may be a bit of an obsession well so my family says as everything stops for Doctor Who 😂😂).
    So sorry about your windows but oh my how quick work is coming along now the sewerage is sorted.
    I adore your father so another one to add to his fan club 😂
    Thank you both for rescuing as many animals as you do and my rescue dog Bonnie say's thank you too ❤️
    Can't wait for the next installment as the Villa is so beautiful and will be full of grandeur when you have restored it while putting your own stamp on it.

    Great work! Is there such a thing as LED bulbs that run off of batteries and a remote for the downstairs ceiling light? I'm with you, it would be a shame to run a wire across the ceiling.

    • @VillaAroldi
      @VillaAroldi  7 месяцев назад +1

      I dont know but we will sort it out somehow, there are those wires that are in textile and actually look decent, or if we somehow can sort it out in another way.

  • @scottno3344
    @scottno3344 7 месяцев назад

    Amazing progress! On the electrical needing to go under your wood floor. It's not fast but you can use what is called an oscillating saw to cut the tongue off one side of the board and then be able to pull it up. To reinstall you will need to glue down the board and get glue under both boards on either side.

    • @VillaAroldi
      @VillaAroldi  7 месяцев назад +1

      That is actually a great idea! Thank's for the tip!
      Might do that or just use external wiring on that one place in the house.

    • @scottno3344
      @scottno3344 7 месяцев назад

      @@VillaAroldi also when you sand the wood floors down save all the wood dust. Mix it with glue till you get a paste about the thickness of silicone then with a rubber or plastic trowel work it into all the cracks. Do another light sand then put on your finish. It will stain the same color as the wood floors while sealing all the little cracks and gaps between the boards making it much easier to clean and not end up a few years from now with the dark dirty line of the crack filled with dirt and dust.

    • @VillaAroldi
      @VillaAroldi  7 месяцев назад +1

      Thank's for the great advice! I would need an awful lot of saw dust though as there are so many gaps up there, a few millimeters between each board 😂@@scottno3344

    Don't install LED fixtures into walls. Install fixtures that have standard light bulb sockets and use LED bulbs. It's always easier to replace a bulb every 10 years than replace the built-in fixture.

    I hear getting permit to "build" / do renovations is a pain in the @ss in Italy. How was your experience? Especially in your situation where the villa is historic?

    • @VillaAroldi
      @VillaAroldi  7 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, it's cumbersome to get permits and it's a lot of rules that makes no sense and so on, but luckily our villa is not covered by "belle arti" so we can do basically what we want (or at least everything you can do in a "normal" home), if however that would change in the future and the villa will be included we can't make drastic changes then, like adding an extension to the kitchen and so on.
      But with a good surveyor (geometra) he can do all the permits and plans for you so it does not have to be too much work if you are lucky!
