You're so awesome JP, I can't believe you're posting these.... thank you.
Thanks J.P.
Hope you get the Vimeo thing ironed out.
Hang in there.
JP IS back ,,, LEGEND ..., UP YOURS VIMEO ;-)
Now on to the pawn shop to find a decent guitar to keep in alt G for the next few years. Yeah, you opened a can of worms here. Good job you did! Very appreciative! 🎸☮️
Is there tab anywhere for that wonderful open G arrangement of "Both Sides Now"? Very beautiful.
Thank You J.P. , I really enjoyed this lesson. Looking forward to the D
what a gem of a video, thank you sir
I really, REALLY like that Gallagher! ❤
I always enjoy discovering the nuggets of knowledge during the party atmosphere of ‘String Theory’… but wasn’t sure what to expect watching a JP guitar lesson. Well I found it brilliant.
I’m an old guy relearning to play… I took a month of in-person lessons to get started, then continued improving by using RUclips lessons. JP is an amazing musician… but to be frank, I was surprise at how great JP is as a teacher.
This lesson is relaxed with no fluff. So far, I’ve watch this video twice… the second time holding a guitar. The production values and camera angles are smart! You feel you’re looking over JP’s shoulder, the point of view is exactly what you see when playing. (You don’t get that with an in-person lesson.)
Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for this, JP.
open g... wow a new world of invention to play with,,,, sounds like a fairport convention tune,,"what we did on our holidays" thanks JP
JP outstanding lesson
I’m a subscriber to your channel and just stumbled on this. Thank you so much for the chord lesson to practice on my 5 string reworked acoustic I built. And yes; I’m addicted to open G. lol
Take care. 😉
Thanks!
Thanks Jp. Awesome peaceful cords. This tuning sounds like you're playing a lullaby.
Loved the lesson. I am a beginner and I learned a lot from this video. I like the explanation near the end of why people do this.
Great video. Always heard Keith Richard s talk of open G but never looked into things more in Chef's style.
Great lesson as always, and I have always loved open G tuning which I learned from Boston's Tom Rush back in the mid-sixties with a Jeff Muldaur tune called Mole's Moan. I have never played that tune the same way twice!!
thank you JP
Thanks JP 👍
Excellent thoughts on open G! Have been stuck with Bonaparte's Retreat in open G as my only tune. Thanks for giving us a little direction in open tunings. They are beautiful voicings.
Thanks JP, great video. I use these cords when playing the old Dobbie Brothers tune....Southcity Midnight Lady.
Thanks for the demo. Love that guitar.👏👍🇨🇦
❤
I love the open G tuning almost feels like cheating because it is so melodic ,your explanation of the chords is great
If I might make a humble request, I need some Freight Train. That’s what I was working on, umm, before. 😳
👍👍👍
I hear the song I've looked at clouds
Is the song you played at 12:15 a Chet Atkins song? If so what is it? Mind blowingly beautiful!!!
Both Sides Now by Joni Mitchell
how many chords and tunings do you think there are a 6-string acoustic?
WHY NOT JUST PUT THIS ON YOUR GUITAR HEAD CHANNEL, AND CHARGE AN EXTRA WHATEVER AMOUNT TO WHOM EVER WANTS IT, CALL IT LEARNER GUITAR HEADS.??
Get rid of that low E string !,
No drop it to low G and brush lightly use as drone
Ditch the low E string useless
