Great video, thanks! I am 67 now and have also started lowering my guitar 1/2 step for some songs. I'm totally new to partial capos, though -- someone just recently showed me the trick of putting a Kyser on backwards to get shifted DADGAD tuning and I was blown away -- I'll be getting the Shubb though since it's a much cleaner solution.
Really great lesson! Partial capos are great and I hack my own Shubbs (love them). Also really dig your Emerald, even the color, and I’m not usually a fan of teal.
Shubb capos are terrific. If I remember, I purchased my first full-sized Shubb way back (1980's maybe). Good on-ya for modifying your Shubbs - I've tried and failed. 🙂
Shub makes good capo. They aren't intrusive to your playing. I have a Kyser capo for 12 string which is tuned down to D. Yes it can pull you strings out of tune but I find only a couple of adjustments with my hand and I find balance once more. I don't find it as big an issue as this fellow seems to. I'm 72 myself and understand changing voice range. Partial capo is a nice alternative of course. A quick change without retuning is nice to have. Shub would probably be my choice as well.

Thanks for watching. Yes, I agree - I love the color.
Thank you.
Good content. Nobody talks about partial capos.
I cannot remember who told me about partial capos, but 'thank you' to whoever you are. Thanks for watching. Best to you.
