Well, sometimes, you get good 😊 episodes in Star ⭐️ Trek, and other time’s you get some bad episodes.Well…this is life, because, there is both good 👍 and bad in life, also. What I do like, however, are those James Blish book’s that he wrote that connect with the t.v.series!And,I can over look 👀 bad Star ⭐️ Trek episodes, anyway!Cheers to a happy 😃 New Year!❤😊
I really enjoyed the first 10 minutes, basically the mystery of why Kirk was on an empty Enterprise, but everything after that had too many plot holes for me. There's a TNG episode with a similar (sort of) theme that's one of the best. Besides, I grew up in L.A. so I'm used to crowds. 😁
This episode was NOT on my favorites list for sure. Lol! Beyond confusing and left open to much speculation. So, the idea is to control over population. I'm sure you saw "Ben Childress" beaming aboard? Lol!
It's an interesting episode....back in the 60s, after the Baby Boom had occurred, there was a renewed concern that the Earth would be overpopulated. Now, we have the opposite problem; far too few people are having children. You need a Total Fertility Rate of 2.1 to replace the previous generation; in the USA, ours is 1.7...in Japan it's 1.2. There are several plotholes in this episode....for one, they are advertised as capable of space travel, so why not start moving people off world? 🙂 We will be doing that here on Earth, probably in less than 100 years. 🙂 Anyway, good video and you were beautiful as ever 🙂
The overpopulation side of the story is very interesting in that the people went to such an extreme to end it but unfortunately the execution of the story itself makes little to no sense. There is no way that Gideon could make an exact replica of the Enterprise in such detail. They should have just used another location and that would have made much more sense and complemented the story. As it stands, this is one of the weakest third-season stories.
For some reason, this episode reminds me of a scene in the "Mission: Impossible" (1996) movie. So many questions.... It would seem that the people of Gideon are total exhibitionists, if they continue to procreate in such tight company. Not to mention the squalor they must be standing in. What happens to those few people who actually die? Do they just fall and get trampled? Where did they get the room to make a replica of the Enterprise, and why didn't they just fill it with people immediately? I must say that I enjoyed Mr. Spock's sarcasm, though.
Oh, God. Finally got to MY worst Tos episode of all time. The more you examine the plot th more it makes no fu**ing sense. I'm not wasting anyone braincells on this turd.
1. GOOF/Plot hole: If every inch of the planet is nothing but people, how is there space to build a replica the exact same size as a starship? 2. The Federation is inept because losing a Starship Captain is a huge loss. 3. Any time they give us eye candy (and they have a great track record) I'm in.😈
Glad you're feeling better.

One of my least favorites, but great reaction as always.
