Oh, that's funny, I have the same monitor doing a similar thing, Thought i was going to need to replace it, didn't even think to check those flat cables and zif sockets. Thanks, Mr. Von Slatt, you've saved me an unneeded replacement.
Same issue. Two identical screens allowed me to replace suspect components with known good components. I ended up, to a certainty, in the same area of the electronics as you, and really appreciate your video. Thank you my friend
this reminds me of when you stuffed pieces of cardboard under the corner fo the chassis of the 25" color TV to get it to work, it must have had a broken trace on the circuit board
Hey Jake, I have a 34 inch ultra wide and I definitely damaged the LED screen itself while moving it. Is it worth trying to replace the LED screen itself? The monitor is only $300. Thanks.
I have the 32UR500B monitor, it has been hit, where could I get a compatible screen, could you tell me the compatible model and where to buy it. Thank you
Mine has a thin vertical blue line right in the middle and I had opened it up and unattached the ribbon then reattached and make sure it is secured but it still show up. I did touch everywhere I can as well. I have the exact monitor that you have....so not sure what happened.
Sooooo... What is the ratio of monitors pulled out of dumpsters that you are able to get working? I think I ended up being 1 out of 8 before I stopped bringing home monitors that just ended up in my garbage as opposed to the neighbor's.
I generally don't attempt a repair on a dumpstered monitor unless it's an upgrade from what I already have or I have an immediate use for it. In this case, this was/is my first 4K monitor.
@@JakevonSlatt I had a question i got a lg 43UN700-B monitor but the screen is busted, so you know where i can find a replacement screen by any chance? I can’t seem to find one anywhere, thank you for your time.
I bought 32UN500 1 year ago, it has a problem: it sometimes flickers for about milliseconds like lightning, and it only flashes once every few minutes. I noticed it only flickers when switching window tasks or when switching to full screen mode. I don't know if it's due to a conflict with the video card or the monitor itself. Tried replacing the DP cable with a new one and changing the video card to another but it still didn't work
Do you mind me asking what kind of tape that is? CC says kind arc, and Im not familiar with the brand, and a few google searches dont seem to steer me in the right direction. Thanks in advance!
I have two LG gaming monitors that need screen replacements. Can anyone tell me where I can get the parts? (I did electronics repair in the military) so I would think I can replace the screens myself . Where to get the parts ?

I turned out to be slightly mistaken. My monitor isn't the exact same, it's a smaller 22 inch LG, but the fix worked like a charm anyway. Thanks again
@@mr.headcrab31 That's awesome! This is the best kind of comment one can get on a video!
@@JakevonSlatt Oh, it's no problem, you did all the hard work, and i'm glad i brightened your day a little.

You won't let anything stump you!
I have the same wonderful 4K 32” in white! Now you’ve shown me how to open it-the power jack might be loose. Thanks!

@@Nunya-_- i usually look to eBay for such things, though shipping costs may make that hard for something that big
