Good Morning FrugalRepair, Please how can i repair hisense curve 60inch screen that suddenly developed vertical lines, which start from middle and moves to the left side. i want to learn .
I'm from Sri Lanka and I have a 65-inch TV. I experienced the same issue shown in your video. The repair person asked me to pay $550, but I fixed it as you suggested. Thank you very much for helping me save my money.

If I can figure out a way to fix that tab bond, I’ll definitely show it. I’ve had some minor success by cutting into the cable at an angle and then dragging a soldering iron (with solder) across it.
wow! after watching your video i was able to fix the vertical lines on my 12yr old workout room TV. i was about to replace it. ty so much for taking the time to share the knowledge. edit: i stuck tape almost exactly where you did. pressure was needed.

In many cases you can successfully reattach the bond contacts by using a hot bar. Besides the contact surfaces being a little bit sticky themselves, there's adhesive between the contact surfaces which is activating when heated to safely keep the ribbon in place. There are temperature-regulated soldering irons that have large bar-shaped tips to put heat onto a large surface. That would be the best-controlled approach but also the most expensive. The edge of a laundry iron might also do the job as you don't need excessive heat, only around 180°C or so. If you are really careful you can even do this reattachment while the LCD is being powered so you can immediately see the success.
Glad I discovered this video. Also happy you mentioned the horizontal lines even in passing but i wish to see it discussed in further detail hopefully in another video.

I have a friend who is a repair man and he shared one time he felt like especially lcd/led TV are designed to have a problem for past a year because how easily the way it was easy to loosen or degrade something inside them and add to the fact that most thing he repairs are LCD/LED TV the ones that has average or lower prices. He says its better to pay expensive led/lcd TV because those things will last longer and the money and time you spent for repair for non-expensive lcd/led are just better spent on expensive lcd/led tv.
In general you might get what you pay for. But even the big brand names have had strings of problems. Samsung and Sony had years of their TVs having significant issues. Vizio sometimes has a bad reputation but a lot of their TVs were made by LG.
Interesting...I have 10 years old LG and is still working flawless was low price range. Another Philips high range price also 8 years old have vertical lines.
Thank-you for your TV repair videos. It allowed me to mostly fix my 75" QLED Samsung. TV was cycling from on to off. Replaced the power board. But still have a single multicolor vertical line. Have cleaned several times the the T-con ribbon cable connectors plus done resets, made sure software was updated and line appears on all inputs. So I am thinking the Main/T-con board got damaged when the power board faulted. Does that make sense?
You sir are a great teacher I will learn and save diy on most repairs thank you all I will recommend your channel to everyone!!! May God bless you all families 😊
This is exactly what happened to my Samsung Smart TV. A single vertical line on the screen which I think was caused due to spraying glass cleaner on the screen. Now I have to open it up and figure out a way to fix it :). Thanks for the video
Thanks! I'm gonna try this with an LG tv i found in the trash 😁 Edit: It didn't work for me, but while dissasembling i found a yellow tape stuck in the ribbon cable thatwas covering few of the pins, after taking it out 90% of the lines weere fixed! I will try the toothbrush trick once i will have to clean out the display inside, due to some bugs and dust being trapped in there.
Great video and well explained. I have a 27in HP monitor and the power adapter went out. I bought a replacement on Amazon and when it arrived I plugged it in and it worked. I run dual monitors on my PC, with the HP using the HDMI port, and my second one using the DVI port. I used it all day long with no issues and turned it off that night. Next morning, the HP monitor powered on, but no picture. I removed the second monitor and used the DVI port and same thing. Powers on, but no screen. I disconnected the HP from the PC and turned it on, I could see screen light up and then see the message No Signal since nothing was connected to it. Then after a while it shows going to sleep mode. Why is the HP not getting signal to turn on with the pc?
Thanks for watching! I’m not sure why it wouldn’t be accepting the video input. If the only variable that changed from when it was working before was the new power supply, maybe that is the culprit? Have you measured the voltage of its output versus the spec input ratings on the monitor? I doubt it would be an issue but might be worth checking.
How about warming the ribbon connection with a heat gun and applying pressure as it cools (one half, then the other, to avoid dislodging)? Might that soften the adhesive enough to re-establish the connection (even for solder)?
A big thank you! My 2017 LG TV recently developed horizontal lines across the bottom third with some parts of the image from the top third repeated at the bottom. I isolated the side that had the issue and taped the first 8 pins and the picture was perfect. I left it as such and I can't tell any difference. Should I leave it or try to reduce the lines blocked? Also this TV seems to have the t-con built into the main board. I don't mind replacing the board if that will make for a better fix. Thanks again. Your content is very useful.
@@FrugalRepair oh ok. Good to know. The picture as I see it now is basically flawless so no more changes then. Thanks for the quick response. Subbed too.
Very informative video. Have a similar issue, when watching the TV for 2-4 hours, a entire column 2" wide will draw itself top to bottom. I am assuming it is due to a heat related issue. This is an ancient TV, one of the original Hatachi 42 HD plasma tv's. 2006. Turn it off, let it cool down and its fine again for another 2 to 4 hours. Had it apart to replace the power board a few years back.
Great Video. Start getting me watching repairing video. I bought a Pioneer TV (PN43951-22C) a year ago. But it won't start again now. Trying to look up some TV repairing videos online. Wondering would you have any idea what could help me. Thanks!
Hope you can get it fixed. I hopefully have enough videos on the topic (plus the free e-book) to get you started. You might want to start with the video on what to do if your tv experiences a power surge.
great video, if the vertical line on my screen has a moving pattern to it, would that mean its a problem with the data signal to that row of pixels? when up close it looks like its white and red pixels moving downwards.
Thanks. I'm not sure I can exactly envision it but it could be a problem on the vertical line but the other 2 lines for the pixel (there are three RGB) are still working so it's trying to show the image and perhaps that is what oyu are seeing? It is possible it is the tcon board, however.
Liked & subbed.. some great info here! Please!! NOTE!! there IS a big difference between 70% Isopropyl alcohol and 93 to 99% IPA.. ONLY use 93% (or higher) on electronics. 70% is... 30% water!!! This type WILL damage electronics! I've schooled, worked with and owned an electronic / computer sales / service company (50+ yrs.. ) I'm not crowing, just pointing out & agreeing with your choice of 93% IPA & pointing out something that might have escaped some viewers.
Excellent video! Thanks for all the information! I do have an idea though. Have you tried dragging the soldering iron on the flex cable connection to the board? That's actually how you fix vertical lines on a Game Boy screen. If you do it for short periods of time, the flex should be able to handle the heat.
It is also recommended when using this method to overlay some PRINTER paper between the polymer flex ribbon cable and the iron. This reduces the RISK of damaging the cable. Uf one has or can obtain some thin TEFLON sheet - that would be even better - It has worked well for me - and the BAR attachment I use is made from BRASS ANY ENGINEERING WORKSHOP CAN EASILY MAKE ONE
have you ever tried it? It's really easy to melt the ribbon plastic if your heat isn't perfect. (pre-heath the board, if you're going to attempt this.)
Might a hot air gun at a bit of a distance not repair the poor connection in that ribbon cable if the pencil eraser trick seems temporarily successful? Thank you for the useful video!
Hey! I’m having vertical lines on my LG monitor too. Mine are thicker and are bands of multicolor lines though. Any tips on what I should look into? I bought it off eBay and the ad mentioned it was “rasterized” thanks in advance
You mentioned that the orientation of the lines matters. But what if I've had *both* horizontal and vertical lines? My display developed horizontal lines over the image, as shown in your earlier videos where you tackled the timing sync. But then the next day the display suddenly turned into coloured vertical lines/bands with the proper image being completely gone making the display unusable. So right now, it just has vertical bands, but I know there were horizontal lines yesterday. What kind of problem would this indicate?
If you have done the isolation technique I showed in the tape video then I would suspect a bad panel or tcon board. There is a possibility also, that you have a short to ground on your driver board that's causing the weirdness.
I am very happy to meet this lesson !!!!!! can I ask one question only FR ? is there a possibility for cracking on the screen glass with out external impact ? if your replay is yes , pls , explain me the invisible engineering that cause to cracking on glass of LEd / LCD Tv screen . Thanks ! stay well .
What if the lines are the exact same way but horizontal. Would I be able to use the same methods that you just used in this video to fix the horizontal line issue on my screen ??
Hi, I have a 50 inch Hisense Android tv, 50H8G, board number 261423, 261424, RSAG7.820.9615/ROH and I was wondering if there was a bios chip on it. If not, what component on the board does the firmware write to. If it wrote to an Ic chip then I could unbrick my TV and write directly to the IC. My TV has a white light of death after an update and I tried all fixes and nothing works. Thanks
30 minutes ago my 47lg70ug just went fuzzy. The menu screens seem completely clear, but no matter what input i change it to, ps4, antenna, xbox the picture was bad. I just swapped TV's for now but I'm going to try this in the next 3 weeks i have off of work. Thanks
Have you seen horizontal lines, on an LG 65" OLED? The lines are on the left (roughly 1/4 of the screen) but they are dancing? Sort of going on and off or acting like a changing graph line. Can you open the back, inspect the T-Con boards, swap the connections to see if the problem changes?
They ended up giving me the tv and I haven't worked on it yet. My guess is the tape trick will work since it seems like a row signaling issue. Have you seen the videos about the tape trick?
I have large grey bars. Do you think this would help with that? If not whats the name for the big grey bars because I can't find people having the same issue
Hi, i like ur video, very detailed. I have 65 inches 2021 Oled LG Tv. I moved location and I received the tv after about 4weeks later and i turned it on, it comes on once and went off and never came up again But the res light xomes yo when its plugged. Then there arw horizontal lines at the extreme right of the tv. Pleaae what do you advice. Thank you
You mentioned lines going away when the tv warms up. What if you have the opposite problem where the thick bands show up once the tv has been on for about 15 seconds?
You mean you have a good picture and in 15 seconds or so, the problems show up? That still sounds like a heat related issue and hopefully you can fix it with some non-conductive material under the metal bracket to put some gentle pressure on that tab bond. You can try turning down the LED brightness to something like 10% and see if the tv lasts longer (less heat in the tv). Or you can put a fan on the tv with the cover off and see if it lasts longer to isolate the problem as a heat issue.
I've got vertical lines too and looks like there was some liquid ingress right where those ribbons enter the LCD itself. I don't see how I can clean there but I'm sure it's what's caused the lines as the ingress is right around where the lines are
if alcohol doesnt work, try wd40 and a paint brush instead. it has softer bristles and will will easily go in tight spaces. DO NOT GET WD40 ON THE ACTUAL SCREEN, IT WILL CHEW INTO THE ADHESIVES AND RUIN THE PANEL. a drop or 2 on the driverboard on the rusty spot will be just fine.
Hello. I have like vertical lines, but only in the bottom of the TV. There is like a 5cm stripe with vertical lines. Any idea what the problem might be, and how to fix if there is a way to fix. Thank you.
Big fan sir Love your work I have this 55 inch Samsung led That has what its seems to be horizontal line I have a short video If i may share it with you Can you help me out Thanks in advance
Definitely saw some corrosion and evidence of substance along the bottom of a big 65inch Samsung but gave up after thinking its the screen, after watching your video today i feel like giving it another go!
I think it's a new screen on this one🙁 haven't tried a tcon board or like on some videos changing some dud chips along the LCD strip, but I had luck on a Philips 50inch. It was a different issue no picture at all just wide white strip down the screen, I took out both ribbons and cleaned then put back and hey presto, so far it's come back once and I didn't fancy opening again so I just unplugged for a while and woo hoo it's working so I've stuck it on my bedroom wall, now don't know what to do with the 65inch Samsung. Anyone have a screen for sale haha might have to buy a working one to swap parts and see if it's the LCD, have a great day thanks for asking I nearly forgot about that TV set
@FrugalRepair Do you have any idea why OEM place those connectors at the bottom of the LCD panel instead of top? Is this to "design failure mode" anytime something spills on the panel? If those connectors would be at the top, gravity would be not helping OEMs
Would using vinegar on the strip maybe dissolve the corrosion, or would that dissolve the bond between the ribbon? Also could hot air or a heat gun maybe rebond it? Or would that melt the ribbon?
I don't know what vinegar would do to the adhesive or the ribbon. I don't think you would want to put something acidic on a pcb anyway. Good thought on heat, I've not had success applying heat to these tv tab bonds so it's possible it could work. I would try to use something more like a soldering iron than a heat gun.
VINEGAR is Acetic Acid - and is corrosive. There is a paste available - most often used by Jewelers and watchmakers to remove corrosion from watches - that have been water damaged. One can imagine the intricate mechanical parts in an expensive watch - and removing corrosion requires special techniques. The paste is not exactly low cost - BUT one does not need to use much and not very often - so a small container won't break the BANK. I don't have it in front of me right now so I cannot recall what it is called. I would recommend watching some Watch repair videos - and soon enough you will discover what the paste is called. Once the corrosion is removed with the paste - the area can be washed /cleansed with a little amount of IPA
@@FrugalRepair The vertical line issue presented here is very similar to an issue that occurs on game boy screens. The fix there is to apply heat onto the ribbon using a soldering iron.
Good Morning to you guys... Please i have a hisense curve 60inch screen that have some vertical lines , How can it be resolved... i am opened to more knowledge.
hi need help bro about oled lg cx 55 have a horizontal white stripe (i can leave with it) at bottom so my concern and question if this tv will get worse over time or risk to stop working !? i need answer plz thank you
I have this exact same TV but it's the 42" version and if I leave it turned off for any length of time, when I turn it back on, only the top inch or two of the display will show a proper image, the rest of the display will be blank, after leaving it on for 10-15 minutes, I can turn the TV off and back on and it will start working again... I keep expecting the TV to die but it has worked in this state for a few years now... Any idea what could be happening...?
This could be a minie side hustle job to get into on the side. many people at least here IN Aus are giving their TV's away for free, just because of lines, go get TV's fix them then sell them for a couple hundred or what ever:)
What if my TV looks perfect for 10-90 seconds and then it gets horizontal and vertical lines, then goes back to being perfect? I'm searching online but this video came up instead.. Okay so I just removed the back panel. Every time it goes all static-y with the lines, I hear a buzzing. Does that indicate anything that you're aware of? If I get no response it's fine, but if you do, thanks for your time
I don’t really know but sounds like a bad connection somewhere. I hope it’s not the tab bond but you can do the trick of putting pressure on it with something non-conductive. It may be working well then stop because of heat. You can try disconnecting one of the cables from the tcon board (did you watch my fixing with tape videos?) and try to isolate which driver board might have the faulty tab connection
My 65" Vizio TV Model M65 D0 has a 2 to 3 inch solid vertical line. I changed the T-Con board, but the issue remains the same. Vizio technical service was not helpful either. I did try to push the ribbon cables, as you show in the video, that didn't show any change to that vertical bar (thick vertical line). Any other suggestion to fix the issue?
Hello, I watched your video and am hoping that my broken RCA tv has a similar issue to what you posted. If I email you a picture of the tv, could you please give me an idea that is similar to not?
Do you have repair videos for LG OLED TVs? I have a LG 55EC9300 with broken HDMI ports. I got a used main board & had it installed by a TV repair guy. The used board was bad & TV didn’t turn on. The original board was put back in but picture has 2 wide snow bars & 2 wide black bars. TV guy pushed on back panel & they went away but a minute later came back stay on all the time. Any suggestions? ShooJimmy doesn’t have the board. LG wants $310 for new board & $332 for refurbished one.
I've seen people repairing display connectors of a same/similar type on Gameboy handhelds by running a soldering iron back and forth across the surface of the connection/connector--quickly enough to not melt things but getting some heat into the connection to more or less reset the glue. Not sure if that would work here, but offhand I don't see why not--assuming the connectors are basically the same. Which they may not be, I don't know; just putting this out there, as it does seem to work for the handhelds when their displays are glitching/losing lines of display.
Good thoughts, however, there isn't any solder under there so adding flux wouldn't do anything that I could see. Unless, are you thinking about using the flux as an adhesive since it's tacky? Also, heating it up still wouldn't address any corrosion underneath.
Correct I used this method and repaired a few Gameboys and other ribboncable type connectors myself. Also, in case there isn't any solder under the tab then there probably is glue which you can heat again to re-settle. Its important to keep a constant pressure on the tab during the re-heating. What also can work and is in fact my very first thing to try is heating it carefully with a small a heatgun. The type that comes with a solderstation and has a small nozzle is best and most accurate. You can probably try it with a normal heatgun aswell although that might be a bit overkill.

My tab bond is tore across ... is there a replacement that can be bought and installed?
I have a 50inch webos powered rca, I was having horrible distorted image and lines.i unplugged the right ribbon cable, and a had half a screen white and the other with 90 mostly clear image. I did the tape method on ribbon cable and the distortion went away along with most of the lines. No matter how I taped the cables the lines were there. I replaced the tcon board and the lines a lot less visible (95%) repaired now. I wonder if my problem is more the ribbon cable/connection?
wow, just when i have the exact same problem you upload this vid, got a 75inch tv that got water sprayed on from sprinklers and it showed one line but worked fine for a week and now its in a boot loop. i think it has something to do with that cable because the lines comes right from where the cable connects.
Good morning first time subscriber Lg tv flashing white light with sound but no picture Sometimes picture comes on then starts flashing bright white light again
Samsung 60 inch, Thin Screen Model No. QN65Q60BAF In the process of moving the TV my friend grabbed the TV leaving a bubble imprint on the right bottom corner of the TV now the TV shows only on the left side and still has the small bottom edge bubble imprint. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I'm not sure exactly what the damage could have been. I'd try to re-seat the cables that go to the driver boards and hopefully that is it. But it's also possible the lcd is damaged beyond repair.
I have the same issue as the friend that sent you a picture, what is the cause of this? It came out of nowhere and the tv is only about a year old. Im really confused as to why it happened
If it doesn't conduct electricity you should be good. You can even cut the ribbon cable and bend back the pins but I've found the scotch tape is the easiest to work with.
I have a UE50TU8072UXXH samsung TV. Not used for almost three years. We began to use it recently and suddenly it can't start up. 1-The standby red light keeps going on and off. 2- The back lights keep going on and off within seconds. 3- The output voltages that go from the power supply to the main board are 27 volts instead of 13 volts.(I don't know why). My questions are: 1-If I replace the power supply ( NB4401054E), will the issue be fixed? 2- Is it possible that the panel is damaged? Please note that If I disconnect the ribbon that goes to the panel the back lights turn on permanently. Thank you in advance for your kind response.
Replace electrolitic condenser On the power supply,by 16 volt Original 10 volt, whit the Same MICROFARAD,IMPORTANT BRAND NEW TV!!!😝 I TS ALWAYS THE SAME PROBLEM. ON LG....SAMSUNG
On my new oled tv there are few quite vague vertical lines on some certain static background colors that disappear (and appear) when you move your head. I guess this is a problem with the panel itself?
Can i apply pressure to the gold tabs while my tv is switched on? Ive got lines an black blobs an white blobs really cant afford to get it fixed so gonna try n do it myself

@@johnelliveps8002 thanks for drawing my attention to that typo error.
Can you also use electrical contact spray to clean up the connections of corrosion?
Thank-you for your TV repair videos. It allowed me to mostly fix my 75" QLED Samsung. TV was cycling from on to off. Replaced the power board. But still have a single multicolor vertical line. Have cleaned several times the the T-con ribbon cable connectors plus done resets, made sure software was updated and line appears on all inputs. So I am thinking the Main/T-con board got damaged when the power board faulted. Does that make sense?
Thanks! Congrats on the repair. Did you watch my video on vertical lines? It’s likely from a bad panel or tcon board. Hopefully it’s the tcon.
You sir are a great teacher I will learn and save diy on most repairs thank you all I will recommend your channel to everyone!!! May God bless you all families 😊
Thank you for your kind comment!
This is exactly what happened to my Samsung Smart TV. A single vertical line on the screen which I think was caused due to spraying glass cleaner on the screen. Now I have to open it up and figure out a way to fix it :). Thanks for the video
Thanks! I'm gonna try this with an LG tv i found in the trash 😁
Edit: It didn't work for me, but while dissasembling i found a yellow tape stuck in the ribbon cable thatwas covering few of the pins, after taking it out 90% of the lines weere fixed!
Great idea. The main issue I see is dealing with the corrosion effects around that area and heat unfortunately, wouldn’t help clean it up.
If you like the picture, then I wouldn’t change anything. The issue is not on the tcon but on the lcd assembly (which you cant get a replacement)
@@FrugalRepair oh ok. Good to know. The picture as I see it now is basically flawless so no more changes then. Thanks for the quick response. Subbed too.
Thanks for that!
Excellent service
Very informative video. Have a similar issue, when watching the TV for 2-4 hours, a entire column 2" wide will draw itself top to bottom. I am assuming it is due to a heat related issue. This is an ancient TV, one of the original Hatachi 42 HD plasma tv's. 2006. Turn it off, let it cool down and its fine again for another 2 to 4 hours. Had it apart to replace the power board a few years back.
Excellent video! Much thanks to you for making it. You are a great instructor!
Thanks for your encouragement!
Amazing..thank you..i will try repair my monitor after this..
Excellent video! Thanks for all the information! I do have an idea though. Have you tried dragging the soldering iron on the flex cable connection to the board? That's actually how you fix vertical lines on a Game Boy screen. If you do it for short periods of time, the flex should be able to handle the heat.
It is also recommended when using this method
to overlay some PRINTER paper between the
polymer flex ribbon cable and the iron.
This reduces the RISK of damaging the cable.
Uf one has or can obtain some thin TEFLON
sheet - that would be even better -
It has worked well for me - and the BAR attachment
I use is made from BRASS
ANY ENGINEERING WORKSHOP CAN EASILY MAKE ONE
have you ever tried it? It's really easy to melt the ribbon plastic if your heat isn't perfect. (pre-heath the board, if you're going to attempt this.)
Might a hot air gun at a bit of a distance not repair the poor connection in that ribbon cable if the pencil eraser trick seems temporarily successful? Thank you for the useful video!
Heat might be helpful with the adhesive but it’s the corrosion underneath that is the issue.
Why don't you try the GamBoy LCD fix with a soldering iron? It will pretty much work in the long run. I did this already on a TFT years ago.
Simplicity at next level 🤝🏻👌🏻
Great buddy, thanks, good luck !
Watch my videos on fixing with tape for horizontal lines. It’s easier to correct than vertical lines.
Thanks
Good luck sir 🎉
Thanks for information
hi! The picture your friend sent you in this video, I have that same tv and that same issue with mine. How would you go about fixing this problem?
I have the exact same problem like your friend at 1:14. What did he do to fix this problem?
They ended up giving me the tv and I haven't worked on it yet. My guess is the tape trick will work since it seems like a row signaling issue. Have you seen the videos about the tape trick?
i have, i will try that soon@@FrugalRepair
I have a VIZIO D32fM-k01 - I need to order a power board. can you make a recommendation on where to source it?
I have large grey bars. Do you think this would help with that? If not whats the name for the big grey bars because I can't find people having the same issue
Thanks..... Very useful video.... 👍
Love that you share this
Hi, i like ur video, very detailed. I have 65 inches 2021 Oled LG Tv. I moved location and I received the tv after about 4weeks later and i turned it on, it comes on once and went off and never came up again
But the res light xomes yo when its plugged. Then there arw horizontal lines at the extreme right of the tv. Pleaae what do you advice. Thank you
Indeed its a helpfil tips
Is vertical lines the same we horizontal lines. Aask is the same way to repear?.
It usually means something else. Watch my tape fixing videos for the explanation
I have a 65up7670puc LG TV.
I broke the screen. Do you know a website I can buy the part my self?
Hello.
I have like vertical lines, but only in the bottom of the TV. There is like a 5cm stripe with vertical lines. Any idea what the problem might be, and how to fix if there is a way to fix.
Thank you.

I have this 55 inch Samsung led
That has what its seems to be horizontal line
I have a short video

Can you help me out
Thanks in advance
Thank you, thank you
Definitely saw some corrosion and evidence of substance along the bottom of a big 65inch Samsung but gave up after thinking its the screen, after watching your video today i feel like giving it another go!
Hope the repair goes well!
How did it go?

I don’t think there’s much significance to it because sometimes the tabs are at the top.
If one of my yellow connectors/wire is damaged. Is it possible to repair or do I need a new screen?
If you mean the yellow wires that have the tab bond on the driver board then no, you realistically can’t fix that, unfortunately.
There is a paste available - most often used by
Jewelers and watchmakers to remove corrosion
from watches - that have been water damaged.
One can imagine the intricate mechanical parts
in an expensive watch - and removing corrosion
requires special techniques.
The paste is not exactly low cost - BUT one does
not need to use much and not very often -
so a small container won't break the BANK.
I don't have it in front of me right now so I cannot
recall what it is called.
I would recommend watching some Watch repair
videos - and soon enough you will discover what
the paste is called.
Once the corrosion is removed with the paste -
the area can be washed /cleansed with a little
amount of IPA
@@FrugalRepair The vertical line issue presented here is very similar to an issue that occurs on game boy screens. The fix there is to apply heat onto the ribbon using a soldering iron.
Good Morning to you guys... Please i have a hisense curve 60inch screen that have some vertical lines , How can it be resolved... i am opened to more knowledge.
Not for ordinary people, amateurs not allowed to take this risky they need to ask someone who has background in electronics
hi need help bro about oled lg cx 55 have a horizontal white stripe (i can leave with it) at bottom so my concern and question if this tv will get worse over time or risk to stop working !? i need answer plz thank you
I have this exact same TV but it's the 42" version and if I leave it turned off for any length of time, when I turn it back on, only the top inch or two of the display will show a proper image, the rest of the display will be blank, after leaving it on for 10-15 minutes, I can turn the TV off and back on and it will start working again... I keep expecting the TV to die but it has worked in this state for a few years now... Any idea what could be happening...?
0:22 i accidentally lunched my tv in vr.
Will this be the same for an OLED tv?
This could be a minie side hustle job to get into on the side. many people at least here IN Aus are giving their TV's away for free, just because of lines, go get TV's fix them then sell them for a couple hundred or what ever:)
Agreed, it could be.
How do you fix the lines like the one your friend sent? My tv looks exactly like that one at the beginning of the video
Great video !!! Very Helpful
Maybe if you heat it up with a heat gun and flux, just a little bit, the connection could restore itself.
@@FrugalRepair The flux is like acid it removes oxidation.
Thanks for explaining, I would be concerned that the activated flux would affect the adhesive.
No, unfortunately you won’t be able to repair that.
Curious if you might have a spare Vizio 91.74Y10.002G mainboard? I can't find one anywhere. 🤔
What model is that from?
Good morning first time subscriber
Lg tv flashing white light with sound but no picture
Sometimes picture comes on then starts flashing bright white light again
They fix this issue on Gameboys by using a soldering iron along the ribbon connection. Maybe this works here too.
That's a good thought but on those gameboys, I don't think they are dealing with corrosion under the tab, correct?
@@FrugalRepair well, at least they are dealing with bad contacts, so I guess corrosion is a part of the problem.

In the process of moving the TV my friend grabbed the TV leaving a bubble imprint on the right bottom corner of the TV now the TV shows only on the left side and still has the small bottom edge bubble imprint. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I'm not sure exactly what the damage could have been. I'd try to re-seat the cables that go to the driver boards and hopefully that is it. But it's also possible the lcd is damaged beyond repair.
Do you have a video on reseatting the Driver Board cables?
Hi i just turned on my tv and noticed a 3 inch vortical green line on the right hand side of my tv rest of the tv looks fine is this fixable
I have the same issue as the friend that sent you a picture, what is the cause of this? It came out of nowhere and the tv is only about a year old. Im really confused as to why it happened
Can I use masking tape instead of scotch tape?
If it doesn't conduct electricity you should be good. You can even cut the ribbon cable and bend back the pins but I've found the scotch tape is the easiest to work with.
I have a UE50TU8072UXXH samsung TV. Not used for almost three years.
We began to use it recently and suddenly it can't start up.
1-The standby red light keeps going on and off.
2- The back lights keep going on and off within seconds.
3- The output voltages that go from the power supply to the main board are 27 volts instead of 13 volts.(I don't know why).
My questions are:
1-If I replace the power supply ( NB4401054E), will the issue be fixed?
2- Is it possible that the panel is damaged?
Please note that If I disconnect the ribbon that goes to the panel the back lights turn on permanently.

On my new oled tv there are few quite vague vertical lines on some certain static background colors that disappear (and appear) when you move your head. I guess this is a problem with the panel itself?
Could the original short have caused some of the problems in the form of heating?
