Except rhyme has never became close to convincing me 2005 is the best format. I like it but to me it doesn’t have enough variety to keep me playing it.
I don't know where this falls but my favorite version of Yu-Gi-Oh is the GX era. You have the normal set two pass, but you also have the Poly options and few cards that special summon. It feels like a healthy balance of back and forth and easily getting boss monsters.
Honestly i agree with the GX statement. It wasnt as extreme and insane as current meta YGO is today. But it also isnt as slow as the really early starter decks where its just ``set one card, pass`` which is boring. To me aswell it has that perfect balance because of the poly options. But yeah its an era (besides GOAT format) we will never get back.
GX is my favorite era and I have no idea why you people keep saying that there were only a few cards that special summoned 😂😂😂😂😂 I was special summoning 2-3 cards in a turn on a consistent basis and so was the AI.
Maybe some day they will separate them again (the scales from the S/T zones)… I think it would be a lot more interesting to have them separated but w/ MR5 rulings. It would give Pen players a buff but not to much of one to a point. I remember MR3 was the funnest format that I have tried. However, it got kinda boring in tournaments because every single opponent was either running pendulums or zoodiac. Pendulums I was able to have a nice back forth with. Zoodiac on the other hand, was negate everything(kinda like pendulums nowadays). But I personally think that’s the most fun I have had In yugioh ever. I run casual decks(such as Dinomist, OG SuperHeavy, OG Salamangreat, and the latest one being a budget copy of Rhyme’s Pre-Branded Thunder Sacred Beasts). Also I’m currently working on building fluffal / frightfur.
@@Honest_Mids_Masher I agree, most of pendulums best support is currently banned in TCG (Astrograph Sorcerer, Supreme King Starving Venom, Double Iris, Heavy Metaphoes Electrumite, etc.) However, on the plus side Electrumite is at 1 in Master Duel.
@@Honest_Mids_Masherwhich is why I'm on a 7 day streak of trying to convince Rhyme to do more of them. I'd like to see his unchained deck again at least. (Maybe once we get to DUNE where they recieve new support he'll bust it out again.)
Nah fr I mostly only play MD with my friend Cause ranked sometimes makes me wanna take a nap in middle of the street cause I wanna know who tf asked for traptrix of all deck to get more support 🗿😑😑😑 and don't even get me started on labyrinth
Yeah, the main problem with modern Yu-Gi-Oh is the amount of time each turn takes due to the possibility of every card being responded to (even if it isn't). But if you just play casually, where you don't need to ask every time you are doing a move, it works well. This is a problem that is obviously exaggerated with MD as well. Tbh, Yu-Gi-Oh was never a card game that adapted well into the digital setting because you could literally respond with every card being played (instead of responses being locked into a certain part of the turn) and sometimes it's really important to wait with the response.
Happy birthday Tyree you legend also keep up the great Content rhyme I always been a fan of Yu-Gi-Oh since I was a child I love these GOAT format duels
Can't believe Rhymestyle tried to pull a Semi-Perfect Cell Tactic and then it works only for him to realize he forgot the out in another deck L M F A O 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I love goat format as a classic format. But honestly to me the game peaked 2015-2017 when we had rock paper scissors formats, except every counter had max 60% win rate. (Kozmo, BA, Monarch example). And additionally we had a dozen rogue decks that could all stand a chance against the big 3.
As someone who grew up in the 5ds era - Edison is the best format created in my opinion. JUUUUST enough bs to make it fun but not like today where hand traps rules all. A perfect blend.
April 11th banlist 2016 was my favorite format honestly. Played yosenjus and went 3-1 at a locals. Loved this format, so many floodgates were insane at that time like macro and vanity’s
Personal favoite format is Edison; Cydra is such a huge factor, and is incredibly fun to play with and against while still having that GOAT era gameplay.
The problem with old yugioh is lack of variety. While it is also true for modern (Tear, Spright, Branded), but at least there are a lot to play, even so if you're playing casually with your friend.
i wish master duel would officially support goat format (old erratas and rulings, draw 6 going first, priority etc). as it is the goat community is doing well with lots of tournaments including a world championship every year, but it would be nice to grow it
I think my favorite era of YGO was lile 2010-2013 World Championship games on the Nintendo DS. Synchros were great IMO since the monster cards still had levels before the XYZ rank monsters came out and made so many different strategies obsolete. So many burn or stall decks saw their cards become unplayable. At least synchros were strong but everything else remained playable. I loved the archetypes intro'd during that time like Machinas, Gears, Six Sam, Lightsworn, Glad Beasts, Junk. So many good anti-meta decks were available. The staples weren't so strict and generally any deck that was well constructed could win consistently. My bad for the long post but i still boot up my 2013 WC on my DS to this day and play it
Tyree got his revenge. FINALLY! XD After all this man has been put through he finally got to murder Rhyme by making him fade into the shadow realm. Yet I bet he'll still be a fool and return to get humiliated by something else he cooks up lol
I remember when the yugioh cards frirst came out, I got the yugi, joey, kaiba, and pegasus box sets. My favorite format is pendulum before links because bringing your entire field back next turn was super broken.
Did anyone watching the original anime ever notice the characters always have Nobleman of Crossout in their hand even though they almost always never set a monster fd?
my favorite has to be 5D's era. That was PEAK yugioh tbh. Where summoning fast was a thing but not too fast. The gameplay was at a slow pace but not too slow. In goat format turns can taking forever. Games can take forever just waiting to draw that one out. And modern yugioh, games are usually decided within 2 turns lol.
I haven't played it, but I would absolutely enjoy TOSS format. Full power orcusts sound so fun, even if I have to battle full power thunder dragons in the process
Growing up i would toss exoida in every deck i had this masked hero deck in high school with lots of draw prower and drew all 5 kids 90% of the time and when i didn't i just had dark law and mirror force and had 2 random pendulum cards to maybe get a free masked change 😂 it would of lost in a competitive dule but in high school duels i was undefeated and no one even wanted to play since my whole plan was to draw the 5 hardest cards to draw or beat them down with darklaw
People judges Vegeta for letting Cell talk him into going perfect and rhyme uses the same tactic every week and it almost always works
CONFIDENCE!!!
Yeah but unlike him Vegeta be taking Straight L cuz his decisions
Except rhyme has never became close to convincing me 2005 is the best format. I like it but to me it doesn’t have enough variety to keep me playing it.
Vegeta also let cell absorb the androids too but idk if rhyme did something similar
Except this time it backfired lmfao
Tyree was on some Yugi vs Atem shit the way he just kept taking out them boss monsters
I have to admit, I was cheering for Rhyme but Tyree impressed with those moves
@@ShinAkuma2 TBF Rhyme brought that on himself, when he used double Solemn for a show of force instead of locking down the game.
Lmfao! A few seconds into this video, and I already am loving the cutout frame of Tyree. We need more of that.

Basically yugioh world championship 2008
After like a 10 or so year break I initially got back into Yu-Gi-Oh when Pendulums had their own zones and I wish they' bring that back.
Maybe some day they will separate them again (the scales from the S/T zones)… I think it would be a lot more interesting to have them separated but w/ MR5 rulings. I just want more thunder dragons support. Also, bring back colossus.
no way tyree got upgraded to a png, from a disembodied voice
Invasion of chaos was the peak of yugioh for me, so nostalgic. Now i just dabble.
That was an epic last duel. Keep the videos coming
i swear every video i watch with tyree in it, it sounds like he’s in pain even if he’s winning 😂
Playing Cyber Stein without Cyber Twin is just bad extra deck construction
Ty really was out there fighting for his life on that 2nd duel 😂😂😂😂😂
Very cool to see both players perspectives in this video. Please continue to do that.

Old school yu gi oh is so much fun to watch! I wish we could have this in master duel
2010-2014 best era, synchro and early xyz
I love basically all formats. Sure, sometimes I get sick of whatever I play too much, but they all have their pros and cons.

As much as I love Tyree getting his wins, him being through the ringer makes these videos gold 😂
GOAT FORMAT for sure is the best and right after Edison. Btw, who ever wants to play with any of those two formats let me know, I would happy to! 👀
I grew up with Yugioh 5Ds so that era holds a special place in my heart
Stealing morphing jar and not proceed to summon BLS was the dumbest play this dude could done
Late 2018 early 2019 was best Modern, right before GX was released was best Old-school.
April 11th banlist 2016 was my favorite format honestly. Played yosenjus and went 3-1 at a locals. Loved this format, so many floodgates were insane at that time like macro and vanity’s
Bro can make a whole ass anime with arcs and stuff out of that last duel
That last duel is the perfect showcase why OG just cannot be beat
Honestly... Traptrix Artifact was the best because Infernities topped at worlds and I loved infernities so to see them win worlds was big for me
OG forever.
Happy birthday Tyree.
First time I've seen Tyree on here without his costume on. FINALLY!
The second duel was an example of beating the odds and then some
Yu-Gi-Oh before Archetypes controlled the game is the best Yu-Gi-Oh
Tyree actually called out the 2 Solems.
2011 Reborn Tengu was the format I have the most nostalgia for because 5ds was the last YGO anime I watched
Personal favoite format is Edison; Cydra is such a huge factor, and is incredibly fun to play with and against while still having that GOAT era gameplay.

Tyree is actually the Pharaoh, wtf. I love these duels so much.
Happy birthday Tyree!
I actually enjoy both the old school format and the new stuff depends on what I feel like playing
I love the 2002 from mat using ur own skills and let ur opponent play as well
To whom it may concern Red-Eyes Black Dragon has a finishing animation like Dark Magician and Blue-Eyes now.
Happy Birthday Tinsley!
That was so much fun the back-and-forth
AINT NO DAMN WAY YOU WERE ABOUT TO DROP THAT UPSTART GONLIN FROM THAT GRACE DRAW!!!!!! 😂😂😂
Best format gotta be Schoolyard Format pre adultdhood
Goat, the old school is the best school, loved playing with my brother with retro decks
Pendulum format is great
Tyree got a picture now. Yaaaaay

I honestly liked the link format where you had to summon monsters next to links, just felt right to me
OG Yugioh has my heart because I used to no life duelist of the roses
homie in the first duel you could've pulled the restrict tsukuyomi combo, by not discarding it with charity
