It'd be really nice to be able to create auto text cross references to other specific pages in the Layout document. For example, you could have a callout Label that says: "See Detail A on page ()." Ideally, you'd be able to click on a specific page in the Pages window to dynamically select the desired reference page.
Also, when you dimension something, the dimension itself is an auto-text figure. It can be edited by clicking into it and either adding more text or even over-riding it with another figure (if you were foolish enough to want to do that).
I'm not sure foolish is the right word. Layout dimensions love to lock onto the wrong element and given the horribly low resolution it renders in, it can effectively be impossible to get it to select the correct one. Overriding the dimension is then the only way to waste ages of time trying to rejigger the model and/or layout to select the right thing to measure. I particularly love when Layout has attached to the correct objects. But then I change the model a bit...but not the parts Layout is attached to. Still, layout "lets go" of that attachment...but instead of its red indicator showing there's an issue...Layout just attaches to the paper and changes the dimension from 30' to 7.5"... No warning, no red markers, just completely broken. :/
Hey Arron, Can you go over the differences between placing text on Cover page as apposed to ear marking it for on all pages. I. E. Is the cover page more or less a template for all pages? Or by placing text on page one for instance and ear marking it for every page there after. Hope that the question is clear.
And I would also like to have or trace from the Layout what Sketchup file that was used in the the make up of the layout and I guess that is quite a challenge!

Its a good feature. But the table tool must be upgraded. Something about collecting data from page, recognizing labels... something like that. Now tables are sooo primitive. 😒😒😒

Autotext is just the name of the "code" that is entered... the text itsef is controlled just like any other text in LayOut!
