      Not doctor who related (but nice Easter egg), have you tried cashew milk? Not sure how it is in tea, but it's a really creamy thick milk. Way better than rice or almond. Also, don't listen to naysayers, it is your body, your hair, and you are in your right to care for it as much as you want to.
      One last thing, the reason the basics get repeated is because believe it or not, there are some people that don't know them, called hair care beginners. Anyways best of luck with your hair journey.

      Star 03 what would you like to know about

    • @EG-gz4mp
      @EG-gz4mp 5 лет назад +4

      Star 03 there are many things you want to avoid while treating your acne. Remember to see what works with what in your skin care routine e.g don’t mix vit c with niaciminade. Have you consider using a heavily diluted tea tree oil or maybe retinoids. Your skin type is usually pretty obvious and is essential to know what products to buy because it may work different on different skin types. By the peeling you mentioned, it seems that you have dry skin, so don’t forget to moisturise. You might also have a combination type of oily and dry. Does your skin feel oily during the day? And it also seems like you have very sensitive skin so don’t layer lots of products on. Hope this helps!

    • @EG-gz4mp
      @EG-gz4mp 5 лет назад +1

      Star 03 have you considered the possibility of having rosacea or a particular type of erythema?

    • @EG-gz4mp
      @EG-gz4mp 5 лет назад

      Star 03 that’s great to hear. But be careful while exfoliating. Using too much will dry the skin, and cause breakouts. And if you have any post inflammatory conditions, don’t use it at all. It’s like rubbing salt into a wound. Maybe exmea is the cause of the peeling. And for your oily t-zone have you considered using niaciminade or zinc especially. They are great deterents. What kind of Retinoid were you using, may I ask? Using it too much is substantially drying, and should only be used in short quantities.

      @wallewaltz 5 лет назад +6

      @@mmonalysa I've tried many things before I decided to take a blood test. Using weird soaps to deep conditioners to many different oils, now I use a baby shampoo since it's claimed to have less chemicals in it, and the truth is it's really gentle on the scalp and the hair and it does its only job: cleaning the hair. What I've learned during this time is shampoos claiming to make your hair thicker and longer and better is just a lie. You have to fix the problems from within. So I only care about a shampoo that cleans my hair well and doesn't have weird chemicals in it that may be hard on my scalp.
      Same goes for hair conditioners, they're only supposed to make your hair less frizzy and they only help brushing your hair easier. So I'm really glad to know that my problems can be fixed and not only that, anything bad that anemia causes can be fixed.

      I started using caster oil after seeing Elle Bangs (find her here on youtube) said that the molecules in caster oil are small enough to get into the cuticule where as coconut oil is not. I hope Ive said that correctly.
      After a bit of trial an error, this is how i use it ... after washing & conditioning, while hair is still wet i will use a small amount from mid lengths to ends (the most damaged). Its very thick and if you use to much it could weigh your hair down, thats why i used it on wet hair. Oh I have long fine and bleached hair btw. Regarding the results - I forget to use it most of the time so I cant really say Ive seen much difference. Although after seeing this video, Ill try to remember to use it more often. Just remember, a little at a time! Its really thick 😊

    For everyone who is saying that this girl has curly/wavy hair... I agree and here’s my routine to long, thick, and healthy curly hair. First off, NO HEAT. No diffusing, no blow drying, NOTHING. What I do is, I use no silicones, sulfates or parabens for my shampoo, conditioner and leave in conditioner. While washing my hair in the shower, first I start by flipping it upside down, lather on conditioner, and comb it with my fingers (this takes time) from my ends to my roots. I then rinse and repeat for shampoo. Once I’m out of the shower, I then apply leave in conditioner (basically everywhere and scrunch it up) and take an old shirt (preferably cotton), pile my hair on to it and tie it around my head. (I had to watch a video on how to do it and it’s pretty easy). I then go to bed and that’s it. I get soooo many compliments on my hair at school and it really works. I use this method 2-3 days a week (that’s just how oily my hair gets. It may be different for you). So the days that I don’t use shampoo and conditioner, I still comb my hair while wet or I’ll simply put my hair up in a bun. I also want to let everyone know that I do have naturally oily hair which is super rare for curly people, so I don’t use any oils. For those of you who do have a more dryer texture, I recommend using oil. I just don’t know which ones. I hope this has helped anyone struggling with curly hair or even the girl in this video :)))
    Have a wonderful day!!

    When you use coconut oil and your hair stays 'dry and brittle' know this: water is moisture and ONLY water is moisture. Coconut oil and any oil can give the hair the illusion of being soft temporarily (which is fine though) ..but when too soft products are used to wash the hair...the oils can't be washed away while WATER AND OIL DON'T MIX ... so now and then you need to clarify otherwise the oil can block water to come in the hairshaft. So it's not only the protein that's in coconut oil that might cause dry hair, in fact these proteins might do wonders especially on chemical treated or damaged hair, but it's the 'block' that oil can give when hair isn't washed clean enough and water can't enter ... (just a hint ;) )

What I personally do is wash it go through it with my hands a little let it dry to towel wett and then I ad oil and or mousse then let it completely dry and actually I don't really brush my hair after that except the ends I wait with the brushing untill it's no longer exceptable to not brush it♥️ hope I helped a little *also invest in a good brush fit for your hair thats so important* never go to sleep with wett hair girl that's the worst thing to do it will mess up your hair so baddddd pleas never do that again

    • @othersophie3567
      @othersophie3567 5 лет назад +21

      Chloe Davis thanks for answering! I was just a bit confused bc to my understanding, the soy industry for human consumption and for agriculture were separated, and the industry for soy for humans was like a really small percentage of all the soy fields in the world.. so like a soy milk wouldn’t really produce a lot of greenhouse gases

    • @pineapplefriedrice9598
      @pineapplefriedrice9598 5 лет назад +30

      80-90% of the soy grown is fed to livestock. So if you consume animal products, you are contributing to this because livestock consume lots of soy. Only about 7% of the soy grown is fed to humans though most of it is consumed in Asia and turned into soy beans

    ~HAIR TIP~:
    You probably already knew this, but hot water causes frizz, brittle and dry hair. Science behind this is hot water washes off all the nurtions and oils produced in the scalp. Hot water is dangerous to the scalp and in result, the hair is all very frizzy. I then switched to rinsing shampoos and conditioners with cold water, and i have seen a massive difference. My hair has been smooth and i think you should give it a go. Sorry if you already knew this, but if you didn't, glad i helped.

    • @Anton-cq6zl
      @Anton-cq6zl 5 лет назад +9

      you can skip the schampoo and just wash hair with warm water, or you can wash hair with schampoo and use cold water. they're kind of the same thing. best is probably no shampoo and warm water though, cause schampoo with sulfates STRIPS your hair completely of oils (which is also what makes it squeaky) and that makes the hair freak out and produce extra much oil to compensate, making your hair greasy. shampoo is a vicious cycle and ever since i stopped using it 4 years ago my hair is never ever oily anymore, and it's really smooth and just looks great.

      Some of the method can be good for wavy hair, too, like....?? Sulfates aren't good for anyone, neither is silicone (due to sulfates needed to get them off your cuticle).
      Edit: I think I misunderstood some of your comment. I didn't get you meant that WITH the treatments she needs to use styling products like creme or gel or spray, etc, and scrunch it, diffuse dry it, etc. Yeah, her air dry with no styling stuff just ain't it for girls with textured hair.

    • @annamacm4063

      Sofía Mallarino Agree. My hair looks even more frizzy than in this video...I thought for years I had bad condition hair, but I’ve been told many times by hairdressers that it’s just my hair type and my hair is actually in really good condition. It turns out that I have naturally curly hair. Took me decades to realise it because it doesn’t look very curly if I just air dry it, it just looks frizzy and a tiny bit wavy, but not in a good way... but I’ve discovered that if I style it with curly hair products and carefully diffuse it, it’s really curly. When my hairs curled it looks really healthy and glossy. This is such a typical trip for so many folk. I strongly suggest this girl heads off to a stylist who specialises in curly hair (yes, these places exist) and at least gives them a try.

    I am an Asian male (Chinese/Indian), growing my hair out. It’s currently at shoulder length.
    Hard water has a high PH, in addition it high mineral content causes calcification of the scalp. Which could lead to potential hair loss/thinning.
    A tip I can recommend is rinsing after conditioner with cold water. It seals the cuticle so it lays flat & smooth.
    And only apply shampoo to your scalp
    And don’t comb or do anything whilst your hair is wet. (Wet hair it’s at its weakest state).
    Be sure to have a balanced diet with lots of protein.
    With the understanding that genetics, hair textures, climate and water hardness differs, results will vary.

    "don't brush your hair when it's wet" is something I've heard as a piece of advice from a loooooot of people. But the best advice I can give is start inside out - do ur blood tests & talk to a nutritionist/check your diet, talk to a trichologist (a dermatologist specialized in hair) & other doctors till you find the right answer.

    My hair care habits:
    1. Silk pillow case - Sleep on a silk pillow case (not satin).
    2. Dyson supersonic hair dryer - Only air dry my hair if needed, and when I do I use the crazy expensive 'Dyson supersonic hair dryer' = 350-400 euros
    3. Redken hair products - Only use professional hair products (no drugstore). I now use the 'Redken extreme' line to restore damaged hair.
    4. Cold showers - Always shower in completely COLD water. Always.
    5. Filter system - Use a filter to cancel hard water and swap these every two months.
    6. Massaging roots with machine - Massage my roots every day for five minutes (I bought an electrical appliance for it). Sometimes add extra oil when massaging my roots.
    7. Mask every 7 days - Mask one time a week, wrapped it in with cling film, leaving it for 30min.
    8. Split end trimmer every 28 days - Using the Talavera - Split-Ender PRO 2 - Split Ends Trimmer every four weeks to get rid of dead ends in the middle parts of my hair
    9. Hair cut every 3 months - Usually I do this myself, using RUclips tutorial
    10. UV filter - Use a UV filter protector when going in the sun or wrap my hair in a towel when using a tanning bad.
    11. Food - Eat foods that are good for hair (eggs, berries, spinach, seeds, nuts, fetty fish etc.)
    12. Food supplements - Use hair supplements
    13. Polyester towel - Always use soft polyester towel to wrap my hair in after washing.
    14. Washing - Max 3 times a week, and only the roots
    15. Heat protectors - Always use heat protecting product when styling
    16. No touching - Try to not touch my hair during the day
    17. Soft crunchies - Only soft crunchies, no hard materials.
    18. Keratine treatment - First keratine treatment I got it done at a salon, figured I could do this as well by myself. Bought keratine treatment to do at home, and give myself this treatment every 2-3 months (if I feel it is needed). Same results as at the salon and crazy cheap in comparison.
    19. Probably some other thing I cant think about now!

I've been using a wide tooth comb for about six months and I personally have noticed a really big difference in the health of my hair. I've been really wanting to get my hair to waist length again but it is really challenging because my hair is so thick and unmanageable. but patience is key and I learn something new about hair everyday, so thank you for this video I'm excited to try out some of these methods and start my hair journey with you!!

    My thoughts as a Curly girl method girl: did you do a final clarifying wash? To make sure you are starting fresh.
    Next: your hair has wave/curl/texture whatever you want to call it. Our type of hair has a matte finish, compared to genetically straight hair. It looked shinier when you chemically straightened it, but that process is drying to curly hair. Next, water and conditioner equals moisture. Squish it into your hair in the shower. If you cant run your fingers through your wet hair, you need more conditioner+water.
    Lastly, check out Atoya the curly salon on Instagram for curly hair help.
    Also, you look like a forest nymph with slightly wavy, slightly frizzy hair, so so so pretty!

    I have a suggestion for blow drying!! I was blow drying my hair wrong for years...but I found out recently if you angle the blow dryer down on top of the hair instead of to the side straight on, it makes my hair not get tangled when I blowdry, so then I don't have to brush my hair until 2 days later now! Also if you just blow dry the scalp you don't have to blow dry the rest of the hair. The reason is once you blow dry your scalp the rest should air dry pretty quickly, it usually takes about 30 mins to an hour (my hair is slightly above my belly button) And only the scalp can grow fungus and stuff, the rest of your hair can't so you really don't need to blow dry the mids or ends, especially not the ends. 80% blow dry scalp, 20% blow dry mids

    Your hair is just naturally fine, which means it is more fragile than the thick hair you would like to have. Becareful with the wrap technique, it thins out many people's hair. At some point you need to be realistic with your goals, you naturally don't have a lot of hair on your scalp, you cannot expect to have thick hair like these women. They probably have more hair on their scalps than you. It all goes down to genetics.

      sImplyCha lots of my friends tried brazillian keratin treatment or in other term “rebond”. After a couple of months, their hair started to curl and have kinks at the middle. That’s why it is not healthy to treat your hair in chemical heat.

      my hair is so thick it could probably make two wigs if I cut it all off and I wish it wasn't that thick because it takes an hour to naturally dry and it's so annoying but at least I can thin it out because you cant thicken thin hair but you can thin thick hair.

    My hair story started from me washing my hair everyday when I was younger. It made my hair so dry and course. Now that I am older, I felt I needed to fix it due to the fact that I understand how bad it is to wash daily. I tried oils, sprays, leave-in conditioners, and even more. Then one day I just stopped touching my hair, and let the natural oils do it’s work. My hair is now so much softer and less frizzy, and occasionally I will use OGX oils. It is important to let your natural oils to take place. However, it may just be me. Anyways, your videos are so informative and well thought out. Thanks for sharing!!!

    I think one of the best tips of advice that I can give to get long hair and minimize breakage, regardless of hair type, is to try to wear your hair in braids or protective styles. It’s a simple fix and worth a shot. Girls with very tight curly hair know this as they literally call some braided styles “protective styles” but I think girls with straighter hair don’t realize how damaging a simple high pony is. When you wear a pony every day and take it out every night, not only can you cause tension on your scalp if it is too tight, but you are causing friction and breakage at the very middle of the hair shaft when you forcefully rip your pony tail out. This pressure and friction in the same spot over time will literally rip some of your hair shafts in half. This is why when you continue to wear a pony you will see your hair get frizzed in your pony over time because some hairs are just slightly too short to fit into it. Those are the hairs that broke off. Taking the extra few minutes to put your hair in a braid when you want it out of your face will minimize the damage to your length since the hair tie is put on at the very end of your hair, so if there is any friction when taking it out it will only break off the small bit of ends, which does not look as bad and can be managed with trims. So even if you’re just trying to have a lazy hair day and want your hair out if your face, avoid the quick bun or pony and take a few extra minutes to braid it at the nape of your neck and work up to French braiding. Bonus, you can braid it after a shower one morning, sleep in it, and wear the waves for cute second day hair! This is one of the big things that helped me grow my shoulder length hair to my waist in only 2 years, and grow it nice and thick as well! Some people might know this already but it is a simple suggestion that doesn’t hurt to try and implement on top of other hair care! If anyone wants to see my hair growth over the years, you can see it from my instagram pictures! My lazy hair routine and lots of braiding has really helped I think! Check it out if you’d like and try out braiding! Instagram: @see5

    While I was growing up my mom would always trim my hair on a full moon. My hair was long, shiny, and thick. Literally could’ve been in a Pantene commercial. As I grew up I was skeptical about it and I wouldn’t let my mom cut my hair. That’s when my hair became very brittle and dry. I started it again and my hair is surprisingly thick again. You guys don’t have to believe me but that’s just my experience :)

    Try olive oil. It has saved my hair and I went to the hair dresser the other day to get my hair dyed. It was so soft and healthy she told me she couldn’t tease it and we were able to make my hair white in 1 go (normally take 6 weeks) and my hair is still soft because of my hair mask.
    1 cup olive oil
    4 capsules of vitamin E.

    I also recommend avoiding sulfates, they can strip natural oils from the scalp and hair. That can make hair dry and brittle

    I totally agree with you, hard water damages hair, no matter how much you try. I use bottled water, evian, for example. Try almond oil. My hair does not react well on Coconut, olive and avocado oils, they dry my hair. I found out, almond oil moisturizes mine, but I need to apply it on wet hair and try to warm the oil, not microwave it, and just leave it on hair for 30 minutes on your wet hair to 1 hour. No more than that. I hope it helps you.

    This is truly amazing I learned so much in this video about hair. I’ve recently just started becoming conflicted with how my hair looked and how it felt. It would change between being wavy and straight but that all depended on how frizzy it was. This video truly blessed me with information that I’ve been yearning for!! Thank you so much!!!

    for the tea:
    try oat milk in your tea. I can't have dairy or soy products due to allergies, and it tastes wonderful in my tea.
    as far as the hair goes:
    I've bleached and dyed my hair for years, damaging it. here's what I've learned
    changing your hair products frequently over a short period of time can do damage to the strands. this links back to the ph balance of the products.
    Try a shampoo bar, not liquid, a bar. They are weird and a bit more expensive, but are oftentimes more natural. (in medieval times women would use rose water and oils to keep their hair smelling and looking nice and shiny)
    Also, scalp care is very important to keep hair growing healthily. after bleaching my hair a couple years back I would use argon oil and fish oil (often opening up 2-3 small fish oil oral supplements and working through my damp hair) to restore the damaged ends. this also worked wonders on my split ends.
    avocado is wonderful for your hair, so is banana. I've found that eating more fruits and veggies has improved my hair's thickness and softness.
    making a banana, oat, and honey mask for your hair to leave in for about 15-30 minutes before washing is wonderful for hydration, frizzy-ness, and strengthening.. the trick is washing it out. my recipe is 2-3 bananas, 1 tablespoon honey, and about a handful of cooked and cooled oatmeal. if im up for it I'll add avocado oil or extra virgin olive oil (about 2-3 tablespoons)
    now something ive learned about tea and hair:
    often times pre-packaged tea has preservatives (i.e. chemicals). try switching to loose-leaf, or double-checking the ingredients list.
