    I visited Vancouver Island 2 years ago and spent time on the West Coast and visited Avatar forest. It was a beautiful area and we camped right on the beach at Pacheedaht Campground. love spending time along the shore lines and near water wherever I go. So many areas of western Canada yet to see.

    I have seen you take the small tree with Gavin and others - I believe it was foggy then. Of the two shown, much prefer the second one with the ripples. Gorgeous image.
    You really have inspired me to try to get out more into woodland. Hoping to get to either the Wyre Forest or Forest of Dean in a few weeks as well as a trip down to Burnham Beeches and will have many of your images in mind as I try to compose.
    Thank you again and keep up the great work.

    All I can say is WOW on that waterfall shot. The Cedar is a cool shot because you've really captured the ominous nature of it compared to the surrounding environment. Love the tree in the lake as well. Cheers.

    Oh my ! Fairy Lake ~ xoxo ~ We have camped here for 30 years and have witnessed the growth of this magical Hemlock and it never fails to excite our souls ~ we also had the great occasion to swim with the Steelhead when they were landlocked in an offshoot of the lake ~ Supernatural BC is EVERYTHING to us ~ Many Blessings to you and All your Relations, from Victoria BC ~

      Neat story about the salmon, that would be very exciting indeed. Yes hard to believe that the Fairy lake tree is over thirty years old. Now perhaps you can answer a question that has been bugging me for some time. Is the conifer a hemlock or Douglas fir? I'm not terribly great at identifying trees. Thanks!

    One of your best vlogs so far Adam, what a fantastic location!
    I loved the image of the "Hemlock" out in the lake, it's a superb image and a keeper for sure👍.
    I would imagine you could spend weeks exploring that forest, do you have to be aware of any dangers there?
    Take care on your travels and I look forward to the next instalment.🍀👍

    Port Renfrew, I am in love with this place those trees on the Big Rock. Absolutely gorgeous. My wife and I have always been in love with Canada and it's our dream location in the world to go too. Has a Scottish feel to it and reminds of the poet Robert Service and his great works. I would just love to be on a workshop here...

    Hey Adam, I was wondering what kind of rubber boots are you wearing? I am looking to buy a pair, they are good for hiking and walking into mud or water?

    • @QuietLightPhoto
      @QuietLightPhoto  6 лет назад

      I use a brand called Muck Boots, here is a link www.muckboots.com/edgewater-ii-4031#92=21 they also make an insulated winter boot thta looks interesting. Only thing I'm not keen on with the boots is that the sole is not that good on slippery rocks.

    So this brings up a question I often have. I often encounter really large, nicely shaped, tree bottoms. Not wanting to try to include the entire tree, I try to find a portion of the bottom section to shoot. It often ends up looking "chopped off" because, well, because it is. Any tips or suggestions on how to decide how much to include to help make the shot look a little more complete?

    • @QuietLightPhoto
      @QuietLightPhoto  6 лет назад

      Not really Philip, it really depends on how the trunk relates to the rest of the scene, the shape, size and so on. I actually just put together a short video that I try to explain how to portray scale, perhaps it will help a little, not sure. Cheers!

    new subscriber. The root system turned out pretty good. I am envious of your location, that environment is my favorite. Living in the southern US, I don't get that very much although there are some similarities in the Great Smokies and the Appalachians. I would love to photograph in Vancouver but would probably need a guide. Any suggestions?

      Me too. I'm watching many of Adam's videos now for the second or maybe third time, not in a row, but since they we published. Not only to re-appreciate the unpresidented content, but also to be reminded of what filter setup he uses for his Nikon 14-24 f2.8. It's my favorite landscape/seascape lens, but I've yet to get a filter kit for it. Hard for me to choose between the several offerings now available.
